And I kind of like that she hasn't bad mouthed (formally or in an interview at least) any of her past hits. Even if she does dislike them, I think disowning some of your back catalog like Mandy Moore for example is quite disrespectful for the fans that genuinely DO care about it.

Mariah Carey - Prisoner ...I think Yes. There's a funny story about this one from when she was on tour about 8 years ago. Fans from her fan club got together to approach her backstage at many of the tour dates and demand that she perform "Prisoner". After fans had approached her on several different dates asking it she finally told one fan that she hated the song when she recorded it and still hates it and is never performing it. Interesting; I always liked that song, and was surprised to find that Mariah didn't. When she released her first album, she said of "Prisoner" that "it has a rap on it and is really contemporary". That was in 1990; maybe she thinks it sounds dated now. Or that the rapping wasn't really "her", but was something she was essentially forced to do for commercial reasons.

"Prisoner" is my favorite uptempo on the entire debut album. But to be fair, they are all kind of dated now with that New Jack Swing sound that was popular with a lot of R&B leaning artists in the early 90s.

I don't feel like that video was proof at all that Britney hates Sometimes. Even if she actually doesn't like the song, that was definitely said as a joke.

Not a hit but Kelly Clarkson hates Long Shot :'( I don't think she hates it haha. She picked it in the first place and loved the lyrics. She did say though that she didn't want it on the album because it sounded so Katy Perry, and Katy had been blowing up when she was recording AIEW. The only song she's mentioned not liking is A Moment Like This, and she hated the album version of Beautiful Disaster.

I never got the impression that she even disliked "A Moment Like THis". I don't remember the exact quote(s) but I think she was more negative about it because she didn't feel like it was one of HER songs. I think there's a difference.

Well she said “Someone would have to be dying in front of me, saying, ‘My last wish is for you to sing that song,’ for me to sing it,” but yeah she did say it was a song for whoever the winner was going to be, not specifically for her.

^ I'm pretty much okay with Kelly saying this. I agree that she's earned the right to not have to sing it anymore, and honestly, nothing could top that performance where she won the whole thing. It's history.

He doesn't completely hate it, but Ben Folds doesn't like how Brick was more popular than any of their lighter-hearted songs. Weird Al openly stated how his label forced him to record Girls Just Wanna Have Lunch and he doesn't find it funny at all.

I'm pretty sure that "Sometimes" jab was a joke, it was just part of that rehearsed banter before the encore each night of the tour. She's said in later interviews that there's no song of her own she actually dislikes. Yeah because she has to say that in interviews. LOL She REALLY doesn't. Here's the quote... From her Out Magazine interview a few months ago. That "jab" at Sometimes was CLEARLY a rehearsed joke she repeated...every single night.

Actually I think it's their best. Well, I haven't heard Songs About Jane in full, but I thoroughly enjoyed it more than the other two.

SAJ > HAO > OVEREXPOSED >>> IWBSBL. I think that era produced some of their best singles, but as a whole, weakest body of work.

Lupe Fiasco really hates The Show Goes On and even mentions it in the song.

Lupe Fiasco really hates The Show Goes On and even mentions it in the song. Perhaps he shouldn't of been desperate enough to sample Float On for a hit. I'd hate it too.

Here's something I posted at the end of 2003 and I haven't read this topic so it's possible it has already been mentioned. Beyonce said something like (this is not an exact quote):
"I wrote a song called 'Bootylicious' and now the word is in the dictionary and I hate the word."

His label did, and the entire album's release was basically a battle with his label. He probably didn't even care if he got a hit. TSGO was all his label.

I'm given to understand that either Mick Jones or Lou Gramm went sour on "I Want To Know What Love Is" and in a similar sense, the Wilson sisters have expressed their ambivalence towards the Heart songs they recorded in the 1980s that were provided by outside songwriters.

Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo are not fans of the Seven The Hard Way album except for "Invincible". :( I also believe Ann and Nancy Wilson aren't crazy about a lot of their 80's material. And Lita Ford doesn't like Wicked Wonderland. EDIT: I was beaten to the punch on Heart. OOPS

Not a hit, but Hayley Williams from Paramore has said that she dislikes how Let The Flames Begin came out. She said it didn't display any of the emotion they wanted it to.
Lupe Fiasco hates everything he has released since Food & Liquor, especially Lasers. (I don't know hoe he feels about Food & Liquor Pt.2)
I don't blame Radiohead for hating Creep, they're discography is so much better than that entire album.

According to Behind the Music, Neal Schon disliked "Open Arms" when he heard it for the first time and attempted to prevent it from being released as a single, but when he noticed how well it was going down in concert once Journey started touring behind the Escape album, he eventually came around.

Tina Turner did not care for "What's Love Gotto Do With it" when she recorded it.
Since Madonna performed "Holiday" a number of times on her current tour, I don't think she "hates" it. It's the song she's performed more than any other in her career, though, so she probably get a little tired of it. She knows it's a very universal, brings-people/nations-together song, so she still drags it out.
While she may not "hate" it, Pat Benatar hasn't performed "Firer and Ice" in eons- she said it's a bitch to sing. She's very tired of "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," but she still performs it every year- and lets the audience sing the verse she can't stand "("before I put another notch in my lipstick case...")

Natalie Cole said she hated "Miss You Like Crazy" because she felt that was her "sellout" song.
