This really is not very good. I haven't heard it yet, but given the top 5 quick start at Active, I'm thinking not a lot of folks out there agree with you. This bodes well for the album release for them.

German iTunes lists "This Means War" as being the third song to be released on November 11th.
Dunno if that means it's an official single but, reports suggest it's a rocker.

^ Probably digitally as a promo single to stir hype for the album before its release.

If you then scroll down theres a advert/picture of Nickelback, it says "Songs Vorab von Nickelback". Then on next page, there's a paragraph with german writing, below that it says Mehr, click on that and it lists the releases dates.

"Trying Not To Love You" sounds terrific. probably a future CHR/Pop single I guess they left out the chorus from the "This Means War" sample and that is probably the most important thing in my opinion to see how well the song will do, i hope it's an anthemic one..and that it will have a nice guitar solo

It's really quite a surprising track. It kicks major ass. It would fit perfectly well on several metal band's albums.

Itunes is streaming the entire album. I like it, they retained some of what they learned from Mutt Lange in terms of sonic quality. The songs are strong, the hooks are big and this will be another successful era.

i guess they mixed up all the right reasons' (melodic/organic sound) and dark horse's (guitar solos) sound into one more improved music..i believe this could become huge, the only need one huge single to make people search for this album

Not bad. I'll give it a solid 7 and I've never been a big fan of theirs.

I listened to the album for the first time the other day and absolutely hated it. However, I listened to it again today and realized that it's not all that bad. Actually, I think I might like it better than "Dark Horses." Maybe. Still, if it's not like their old stuff, I'm disappointed.

No surprise there. I just never saw Daughtry being a viable contender with Nickelback in the first place. And Rihanna has never had a blockbuster opening week to date. She is predominantly a singles artist, and her albums prove to have staying power on the charts due to her ubiquitous radio presence spanned over multiple releases. Nickelback may be the more critically reviled artist of the two, but when it comes to fervent fans, Nickelback has Rihanna beat I'm sure. Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

Actually, I think I might like it better than "Dark Horses." Maybe. Still, if it's not like their old stuff, I'm disappointed. I think their rockers are, overall, heavier than ever. Some moments even rival "The State" in voracity, musically, especially "This Means War", "Midnight Queen" and "Gonna Get Me Some". As far as their more mainstream sensible offerings are concerned, it's a mixed bag to my ears. I was impressed with "Don't Ever Let It End" and "Lullaby", and liked "Tryin' Not To Love You" well enough (that's a hit country cover waiting to happen)........but "Holding On To Heaven" was a mess. I saw that earlier today. Well done, gentlemen. Nice to see that for all the undeserved flak overexposure has gotten them, they have a great sense of humor about it and took some sting out of 75,000 assholes' contempt by poking fun at themselves.
