I'm hoping that This Means War can be the follow-up.

I'd like to see "Midnight Queen" or "This Means War" next, and maybe "Lullaby" sent to alternative.

Yeah and it reached #27 there. Really? I thought it only lingered in the top 40. I don't follow these charts like I used to.

It didn't reach #27 on alternative on Mediabase I don't think. There's nowhere in this thread where anyone said it hit top 30 on alternative so i think Pipa is right. It probably hit #27 on BDS (R&R / Billboard) Alternative which makes sense because active rock-leaning songs tend to chart higher there than on Mediabase. Either way, I think a second single will still hit the top 40 just because the same stations that played this will probably play that too.

^ Agreed. I was going by Billboard, sorry, I think it peaked at #32 on Mediabase. A follow-up, no matter what song it is, unless alternative may sporadically like a pop-leaning single like "Lullaby," will peak between the #35-45 region.

I don't think it was too shocking that this didn't get far on Alternative.

I would push for "This Means War" next, although "Gotta Get Me Some" really stands out too on the strength of its riff (the lyrics.......not so much).
"Midnight Queen" would also surely work. Really, the only song with heavy elements I don't see resonating is "Everything I Wanna Do". It is somewhat edgy, but more in a "Someone That You're With" sort of way, and is also a stylistic mess. And I guess "Kiss It Goodbye" doesn't leap out to me as much because, topically, it is too close to "When We Stand Together".
If Staind could return to the summit of Active Rock for multiple weeks off of one of their heaviest singles to date, I can't see how "This Means War" would be shunned.
Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

They did get the #1 on Billboard. I don't care for Nickelback that much anymore, but it's nice to see some rock back on the top.

I'm pretty sure they got the Billboard #1 also. that is great, the prediction wanted Michael Buble's album locking the top spot, but yes is Nickelback at #1!

In the tightest race for No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in four years, Michael Buble's "Christmas" rises 2-1 on the tally while Nickelback's new "Here and Now" debuts at No. 2. "Christmas" sold just over 227,000 -- ahead of Nickelback by a tiny 0.18% margin. "Here and Now" sold a bit under 227,000.
In terms of units, the last time the Billboard 200 saw a smaller difference between the Nos. 1 and 2 albums was on the chart dated Nov. 3, 2007. That was when Bruce Springsteen's "Magic" rose 2-1 for its second week at the top with a tiny bit over 77,000 while Kid Rock's "Rock N Roll Jesus" slipped 2-1, just 0.3% behind "Magic."

I think Nickelback should make like the 2000 presidential election and demand a recount! I bet Florida may have mistook some Nickelback sales for Nickel Creek. Ehhh?

i thought for a moment this single was over, but i guess it can stay there for awhile, i guess its follow-up will be this means war, but since nothing has been confirmed yet, it remains a question

If they don't release "This Means War" to rock next, they might as well just quit this era.
