Another band I used to love but grown tired of. I have a feeling I'll moderately like this, and the rest of the album will pretty much suck, like TOAD's The Truth Is....

Judging by the title, this'll be "Burn It to the Ground" part II. I think top spot beckons, especially if "Lowlife" managed to get there.

So this will be the first rocker from the album, the kinda "something in your mouth" of the album.

I liked Nickelback a pretty decent amount maybe ten plus years ago, but at this point I really could care less if they ever put out something new again. I actually kind of groaned when I saw the title of the thread and I don't dislike the band either. Just am tired of them.

The other new song is called "When We Stand Together", I sense that will be the "If Today Was..." type single for pop.

www.nickelback.com/The official website list the two new songs. Personally I'm more excited about "When We Stand Together". I've always enjoyed the softer type songs of Nickelback more than the heavier ones.

It sounds like a charity song, like "We Are the World." Interesting. I actually don't expect them to do much on Pop or Alternative, but they'll smash as always on Active and HAC.

I think Mutt Lange's influence on the last album was a wrong move. The band does their best work when they're steering the ship completely. Hopefully they can deliver another cracker.
P.S I still quite enjoyed some of the lesser tracks on "Dark Horse" and I belive the rest of the album is some of Nickelback's best.

This will either be a binge-drinking anthem a la "Burn It To The Ground" mode.............or a sadomasochism anthem. ;) My hunch is it's going to be a sadomasochistic binge-drinking anthem! Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS Yeah for a first single, I don't sense they'll hold anything back on subtly. Something In Your Mouth has a killer riff and beat to it but it was lyrical hell. I hope they make it more like 'Burn It To Ground' because it was fun song that didn't make you feel dumb listening to it.

I hope they make it more like 'Burn It To Ground' because it was fun song that didn't make you feel dumb listening to it. I actually do feel dumb when I listen to it! But I see where you were going with that. It's not quite like "Something In Your Mouth" in that, if you're at a stadium getting sloshed and your chest is caked with the colors of your favorite team and you're wearing beer goggles.........you're much less likely to get judged for dancing around and chanting to that anthem. Whereas, if you were to compliment someone on looking so much cooler with something in her mouth..........you're probably more likely to risk exclusion or a hook to the face than elicit an appreciative wink. But make no mistake: hearing and listening are two different things altogether. And while I don't necessarily feel dumb hearing it in a public space, I DO feel dumb when I find myself listening to it! Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

WWST sounds very different, but awesome. "Bottoms Up" sounds nice and heavy. Me very impressed so far.

Previews of both songs. I'm meh on "WWST", while "Bottoms Up" sounds like what I expected.
