I just released she re-recorded a lot of the songs with alternate lyrics. Shows dedication Beez In The Trap and Roman Reloaded are just 2 of the songs with re-edits

My friend was freaking out because she got this album, and I was really confused as to why she was so excited. I only JUST NOW realized that it wasn't a re-release. Is there a reason she titled it like a re-release, or no? I thought it was a re-release until just a few days before release. I think that is part of the reason I didn't buy it. It just said "Pink Friday" in the title and I just didn't feel compelled to buy it. then I starting listening and was glad I didn't...but now I'm kinda digging most of the tracks. Maybe I'll get it when it goes under $5 or something ??? Missin out, girl.

Serious question to the people that thought it was a re-release up until days ago. Have you been in this thread since she announced the album or have you been following her at all? I have to wonder because it's been stated time and time again in this thread and by the woman herself that this is an all-new album, NOT a re-release so I don't understand the confusion this late in the game.

The world "REloaded" gives the impression its a RE-release. It's confusing and not everyone follows her to know the difference. It was marketed very poorly and the title is stupid.

I've been following her since '09 and the whole project was confusing as fuck. She most certainly made it out to be a re-release at first, than an 8 song EP ala The Fame/Fame Monster. I don't remember seeing any official announcement that it was a full on sophomore album and just found out here a couple weeks ago. Between that and the dozen or so 'heater' singles she sent out it's been a complete and utter mess.

First off, had I not been a fair-weather fan of Nicki, I wouldn't have known it wasn't a re-release. Not everyone reads throught all of the posts in a thread. Many reasons lead to the conclusion that it is a re-release. 1.) Pink Friday is still in the title. 2.) The fact that it contains the word "reloaded" could be another reason. In general, I would imagine that most of the general public thought it was a re-release. That was bad on her label's part, and may explain why her 1st week sales weren't near what they could've been.

#1 in the UK!
Minaj's first album "Pink Friday" debuted at No. 34 in the U.K. in December 2010 and climbed as high as No. 16 last August. It's still on this week's Official Charts Company survey, falling 30-40, but is eclipsed by Minaj's sophomore set, which opened at the summit ahead of Labrinth's "Electronic Earth," with Adele's "21" leaps back up another place at No. 3.
At least the good side to pop nicki ruining her US fanbase is that it also got her a new one worldwide.

At least the good side to pop nicki ruining her US fanbase is that it also got her a new one worldwide. Did she really ruin her US fanbase though? Super Bass and Turn Me On were pretty big songs in the US. Good to know she is expanded globally though. I see her on Twitter always interacting with fans from other countries, which is good. As for the much belabored album title, well...I agree that the title is stupid and that it sounds like a re-release. I guess I have just been paying very close attention to this project/thread.

It wasn't until 2-3 weeks ago that I realized this wasn't a re-release and I follow Nicki somewhat. I remember people bitching a month ago because almost all of the "new" songs were released...Then I find out there's like 24 new one's lol....
Solid numbers for Nicki :) Very happy....Oh and I'm loving Stupid Ho now...song just started clicking with me and is now one of my faves <3

Congrats on that #1 album Nicki! :) Ya'll better get ready for my polarizing, controversial stats. I have two albums to brag about. Just to give you guys something to nibble on...so far: -1st female rapper to have an album debut at #1 in the UK -1st female rapper to have 2 #1 albums in the US -The last rapper to debut at #1 in the US, Canada and UK #1 US # 1 Canada #1 Japan #1 UK I'm praying for #1 world chart debut but Madonna is huge worldwide and those random asian artists out of nowhere will sell like 1M first week. Crossing fingers though. B e afraid be very afraid bwahahahahaha...think you slick closing the PF thread when the album is still charting...I see you ;)

I can't seem to get over this album. Gun Shot gave me so much life last night. Still think Marilyn Monroe is bizarre but whatever. Fans of that song want to turn it into the second pop coming. I am going to just go ahead and call Beez In The Trap my favorite song on the WHOLE album, period. I'm also a huge fan of Right By My Side, especially Nicki's verse at the end.

Thanks to your somewhat messy post (check your Top 10 hits section, boof), I now know that Remy Ma and Queen Pen had Hot 100 #1 singles.

I appreciate the Nicki updates for her success but I wish they weren't posted as often as they were. Or at least just list the newer accomplishments and update the full list on a more sparing basis... As for the album, I think there's a lot to take in. I've finally had some time to sit and listen to the album a bunch of times. I think some of the pop half will warm up to me eventually, perhaps when they become the singles for the album but as of now, I'm all about the first half of the record. I wrote a review for the album. I think if it just consisted of the first 8 tracks, Starships and one or two of the other songs, it would have been nearly a perfect record for me. But the latter half brings it down, I think. www.themaxonline.net/2012/04/11/music-review-pink-friday-roman-reloaded/

Some of those "accolades" are sh!t First rapper to perform solo at the Grammys Kanye West has performance several times at the Grammys.
First rapper to have a single "SuperBass" selling 4 million song digitally. Live Your Life, Love the Way You Lie, Airplanes, Empire State of Mind, etc.
Second rapper to appear at the Superbowl No. Nelly, Diddy, Queen Latifah,
Also you can't sit there and not classify Lauryn Hill's The Miseducation... as a rap album. Nicki's debut can be put into the same category since she sings on a good number of the tracks. Lauryn was up for a Grammy in the Rap Category that year for Lost Ones but ultimately lost out. Stop padding your facts please.

I'm just glad Missy still beat Nicki for a single album in overall sales. Nicki isn't worthy of Missy's crown yet.

Some of those "accolades" are sh!t First rapper to perform solo at the GrammysKanye West has performance several times at the Grammys. >>>Oh, it doesn't say female rapper. I'll update. You really on Kanye's jock like he was the first rap performer...child, sit. First rapper to have a single "SuperBass" selling 4 million song digitally.Live Your Life, Love the Way You Lie, Airplanes, Empire State of Mind, etc. >>>Again, I forgot to put female there??? I thought my old ones had female but I'll update Second rapper to appear at the SuperbowlNo. Nelly, Diddy, Queen Latifah, >>>That's weird my desktop has female but I'll update. Boo boo, I don't make the rules...get educated on the game. Lauryn hill only had about 3 songs that were rap on her album...the industry classified this as a r&b album based on majority of the record being sung and not rap. There is actually a criteria to have "X" amount of songs have rap in them to be considered a rap album. I would imagine if PF was full of Save me's and PF:RR was full of Fireburns I could see your point...can you at least do your research before you come for me. I know you love the attention that I give you and I have no problem giving it but at least keep it 100...meaning all of your critiques need to be 100% accurate...otherwise you doing too much boo boo with these pleasantries we need to engage in. Muah...

Nobody likes any attention that you give them. Sorry to disappoint. Also the fact that you had to go back and add something to make YOUR statements true mean that what I wrote were valid critiques. I'm done with the matter from now on.

I'm done with the matter from now on. You're first statement is subjective and my pm messages and +1s on my posts might argue differently ;) Actually, I acknowledged that I didn't have female in front of some of the statements you called out and said that I was going to update it...where is the confusion in my acknowledgement . But you did go back to check once again if I included it in their...it's a gift I don't own it. I still luh ya...with the nicki avi you can't be that bad. What I was addressing was your comments about Lauryn which you still didn't take accountability for not doing your proper research before getting behind the keyboard. It's ok. I wasn't expecting you to admit your mistake. I can...that's the difference. Anyone wants to be done with a matter when they are not trying to acknowledge their fault. That's easy. More importantly...congrats on Nicki Minaj getting a #1 debut worldwide album. How many female rappers can say they've achieved this...i'll wait.
