Is it true that she's also working with Skrillex? :'( I hope that she doesn't go back to the Lovegame/Just Dance kind of songs. I want more epic songs like Poker Face, Bad Romance, Judas and Scheisse. As long as it's not recycled. Skrillex would be a great person for her to work with, and I believe there were rumours about it but no confirmed reports. I definitely want her to continue releasing hard-hitting dance music, but at the same time I want her to evolve her style and give us something interesting again.

I definitely want her to be on the beginning of trends, not the middle/end. However, I really want her music to be radio friendly. The radio aspect of the BTW era was disappointing.

^^ Agreed but hard-hitting dance music is what she does best. Heavy Metal Lover is the absolute example of the evolved and innovative direction I want for the next album.

She looks GREAT. I agree that heavy hard hitting pop is her strength (and, oddly enough, I love her softer/midtempo/slow songs too). But, that isn't what the world wants-they want poppy generic easy listening light pop music. So, I feel like to get radio back on board she is going to have to limit herself from doing the things I love in her.

Just curious, what do you guys consider her "heavy hard hitting pop" or "hard-hitting dance music" songs?

Just curious, what do you guys consider her "heavy hard hitting pop" or "hard-hitting dance music" songs? Hard-hitting meaning a heavy bassline mostly, or very strong beats. Bad Romance, Heavy Metal Lover, Marry The Night (past the first verse), Dance In The Dark, Born This Way, etc.

I don't understand how that isn't what radio wants, then. Bad Romance did great, Born This Way did quite well. Seems like other singles of hers fit that description as well... I think if she were to have released that material now, it would still do quite well.

I really don't consider Bad Romance, Born This Way, or Marry the Night as "hard hitting dance songs" at least in how I am using that term. We are probably defining those terms in different ways. Born This Way to me (in SOUND not subject matter) is fluffy dance pop-Marry the Night is fairly generic straightforward dance. I would say more like HML GH and Judas and then maybe some from Fame Monster (DITD to a certain extent and Teeth)-one of which flopped and the rest would have flopped majorly. I don't hear a lot of songs like that doing well right now unless I am missing them. If I am missing them please tell me SO I CAN BUY THEM ALL!!!!!!!
I do think Bad Romance and to a lesser extent maybe even Telephone are good examples of her balancing heavier/harder/aggressive/experimental songs and generic pop produced for the masses. Somewhat aggressive and hard beats and aggressive vocals, but also had enough of the pop formula to tame those elements down so that they still clicked with the public. It will be interesting to see if she does strike a balance between the two sides of herself for the new cd. I SWEAR with Born This Way she deliberately tried to not be radio friendly. Every single damn song had some "fatal flaw" to me that held it back from its full potential or would have if released. The Edge of Glory is literally the only song on the cd I wouldn't change anything about if my goal was trying to make it more radio friendly.

Marry The Night is pop perfection. PAINS me that it didn't smash. It's brilliant.

Yeah, she's definitely recording songs for one. She's always writing and recording. The question is how far along is she, and when will it come out? She's gonna release a single by the end of this year & the album in the Spring of '13, around the time she starts her North America leg. ***My guess.

Edge of Glory, You And I and MTN were some of the best. The german song and HML are hot hot hot but neither radio friendly.

Some of the best definitely weren't released, but the best also weren't radio friendly in various ways. :'( Facebook status: (and twitter too, I guess. And Google+): Holllllly muthhhheeeerr! So a song came on the radio today. Never heard it before. Sounded like typical today dance music, then after like 15 seconds the beginning of The Edge of Glory starts peeking through the dance music, and then it goes to normal TEOG. It was weird and never heard that before haha. I enjoyed hearing the song again though. :)

Can you imagine how much we'd all explode if suddenly GaGa tweeted that a brand new single would premiere in one month or something like that? There hasn't even been any actual news and I'm already getting myself excited!

On September 12, 2010, Gaga made an appearance on the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. During the acceptance speech for her Video of the Year award, Gaga announced the title of the album and sang the chorus of the its title track.[12] Described by Gaga as "a Christmas gift for my fans",[13] Gaga announced the release dates of the album and its lead single at the stroke of midnight on January 1, 2011 via Twitter
BTW song came out February 11... Means most likely quite some more time after that to wait. :'(
