It's obviously not that they're claiming they own the entire R&B genre though. Otherwise there are plenty of other massive R&B hits to come out in the past 30 years that they could have sued over too. But that is what their lawsuit is about, according to that Billboard article. That's the claim Robin is making. That doesn't mean it's what the Gayes are actually doing. They're saying "Blurred Lines" rips off "Got To Give It Up" without credit; Robin is saying they're not similar and the Gayes are trying to claim ownerships of all of R&B on behalf of their father.

I love it. I brought this thread back on page.one just to get three responses...one is a nonfactor, the other is another.off topic message and the last one is an attempt to be funny while being off topic. Can we.please.focus on the subject at hand? I saw.the give it to you video.this.weekend for the first time. It's.ok. I like it but it gives me old late 70s vibes. I guess that's a good.thing. Can't wait.for it to.go top 15/20 so.they can focus.on for the rest.of my life,.ooh la la etc.

ROBIN THICKE ANNOUNCES TOUR WITH JESSIE JRobin Thicke is taking “Blurred Lines” on the road. Following the biggest summer of his career, the R&B crooner has announced dates for a North American tour with Jessie J. The 15-date trek kicks off on Feb. 21 in Atlanta and hits cities including Boston, New York, Seattle, and Vancouver, before winding down on March 29 in San Francisco. By then Give it to you will have run its course and maybe Ooh la la or another song will be in rotation so he'll have 3 or 4 videos to promote. I hope they extend his tour though. I'd rather a spring tour

Look like his new single is slowing down a bit. Still hopes he can pull out 2-3 more singles this era.

Blurred Lines has sold 505k in ten weeks; officially the second-best selling album of his career. He has an interview with Oprah airing this Sunday. Hopefully that will boost sales. I just check Hitsdaily and he looks to sell around 10k this week. So, let's say around 40k this month to include a boost in sales from the Oprah interview and sales boost in November where there are discounts and possible AMA performance/attendance I'm sure that could garner 50-60k sales in November and then December sales. Hopefully it can get as close to 700k as possible by the end of the year. I think in the long haul this will eventually reach 1M at the very end of the era. Give it to u is doing well on pop but in the next month or so he needs to debut a new single in time for the holidays Edit just checked the charts and 4 the rest of my life is bulleted on Urban AC in the top 5. While he is blocking Alicia from #1 with BL I think she will get it for about a week before he overtakes it with rest of my life. I think my plan seems to be going well. Blurred lines dominates summer. He releases Give it to u...it didn't go top 15 but I think it went top 25 or close to that. Urban AC release of for the rest of my life smashes and once it goes #1 on that format release it to rhythmic and urban...it won't be a huge hit but it can sell the album with something different from the first two singles. Then early spring single of Ooh la la Then early summer closer single of Pressure or my favorite top of the world Hopefully this strategy will get him as close to 1M as possible.

sounds like a plan but there's no way that 4 The rest Of My Life to be a Rhy. & Urban hit.

Can we not have a separate thread/forum for "Watch me play record company executive and plan out dream scenarios with limitless budgets with my faves"?

Can we not have a separate thread/forum for "Watch me play record company executive and plan out dream scenarios with limitless budgets with my faves"? I would say refer to the past couple of pages and see how they tried to control the subject matter (while strangely being off subject/topic) in the forum and how that worked out for them ;) It's actually related to the artist :o So, I will respectfully decline as the era continues and want to continue to discuss Robin Thicke and his album. Imagine that So, what do you think will be a good follow up to Give it to u since it's nearing the end of its course?Patiently waiting

I like that thread you created. My impact is undeniable when I can inspire other posters to go out of their way to do this. Aww. Also, the same people thumbs up with a quickness. It humbles me. Did you provide not only the question but your plan as well? I think it could be a hit thread but I don't want to spend too much time on it as this is a Robin Thicke thread. Lastly, you never answered my question. I understand that people are so enamored with me that they have a hard time staying on topic. Whispers in your ear: the topic is Robin thicke but what do you think should be the follow up single since his current single is nearing the end of it's course.

So, Robin's team allegedly submitted the following for Grammy's 2014:
BEST POP DUO/GROUP PERFORMANCE Robin Thicke f/ TI & Pharrell - Blurred Lines
BEST POP VOCAL ALBUM Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines
BEST R&B PERFORMANCE Robin Thicke - For The Rest of My Life
BEST R&B SONG Robin Thicke - For The Rest of My Life
No Record of the year or song of the year nominations yet.
Well, For the rest of my life should have a video out by the Grammy's show so it would be a good performance to use Blurred lines/For the rest of my life. Since Ooh la la, Pressure, top of the world won't be singles by that time ;)

good to know. however, he should release Ooh la la next, the song is like the most popular song on the album other than the song BLURRED LINES. I don't see anyone hating on the song, in fact, all of my friends, when i ask abt the favorite song on the album, they ALL say Ooh La La

I actually think Ooh la la is the most obvious single after this peaked. Then pressure etc. Hopefully a video is out by late November so it could boost sales during the holidays
