Great for Pink. Hopefully this album can go the distance with good promotion and single choices.

And whatever Christmas album consumers decide to crazy over this year... The two front runners right now seem to be Rod Stewart and Blake Shelton. Don't forget about Lady Antebellum's full-length Christmas album On This Winter's Night, set for an October 22 release (same day as Taylor's Red). I think it will do very well, probably better than Blake's. And I do think Blake will do good too, and go Gold at least, but he's not a HUGE album seller. I know a lot of people like Christmas music and will buy those albums, so that will counter Blake's inability of not selling a lot of regular studio albums. But I actually think that, if there's gonna be a big country album this year, Lady A will do better. And Scotty McCreery also releases Christmas With Scotty McCreery on 10/16, the same day Jason Aldean's next album Night Train is out. I really think both Lady A and Scotty will benefit big time from releasing the same day as Taylor and Jason, respectively. Scotty hasn't gotten a ton of love from country radio but I know the pre-orders for his Christmas album have been better than they were for his debut album last fall. And people who pick up the Jason and Taylor albums might decide on some holiday cheer from Lady A and Scotty as well..

So being the #1 song in the Country for 9 weeks will get you 40k albums sold. Amazing.

How's Taylor supposed to set the market share record again if successful artists release albums the day of or the week before hers? How rude of them to not just bow to her greatness and release another time.
Based on Wikipedia, if Scotty's Xmas album clears 500k he'll be just the 3rd Idol male to have multiple albums do so. And the other 2 were Idol losers - Clay & Daughtry.

Great new projection for Pink. 245k would be outstanding. Agreed. This album is excellent, so it's well-deserved.

I think Cee-Lo's Christmas album could be a sleeper smash. I know I'll be getting hit. He certainly has the vocal personality for a Christmas album, unlike Blake.

Thanks for the Lady Antebellum Christmas album info. (I hate their ice tea commercial. Just awful.)
Buble's Christmas album will again be a big seller. It was the #1 Christmas album at Amazon yesterday.

I tweeted HITS and asked about MJ's estimates.
Maybe they are counting all the different versions separately? Who knows...

www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/newsPage.cgi?news09129m01FALL RELEASES BEGIN Q4 ROLLOUT Taylor Swift’s Red Leads the Way, With One Direction, Mumford & Sons, P!nk Also Strong September 21, 2012 Big Machine country-pop crossover queen Taylor Swift’s Red is poised for the best first week of the year when it drops on Oct. 22, with a rare million-selling bow in reach. The deluge of initial preorders for One Direction’s Take Me Home, the sophomore album from the Syco/Columbia boy band is slated for Nov. 13, giving the release the look of a commercial giant, with most expecting a first week north of 500k. That will give it a good shot at being the year’s second biggest debut. In the following grid of high-profile releases for the rest of 2012, beginning with the four albums that hit last Tuesday—RCA’s P!nk, Def Jam/IDJ’s Kanye West G.O.O.D. Music compilation, Island/IDJ’s The Killers and 604/Schoolboy/ Interscope’s Carly Rae Jepsen—we’ve eliminated the second or third singles that are just getting started from each. Christina Aguilera’s RCA album Lotus and One Direction’s Take Me Home, both slated for Nov. 13, aren’t included because their initial singles are just hitting radio. Four debuting acts—Republic’s Alex Clare and Of Monsters and Men, along with Dualtone’s Lumineers and Def Jam/IDJ’s Frank Ocean—have separated themselves from the pack, and although all are primarily album artists, each has also yielded a strong-performing single. The Lumineers are one of four noteworthy new and developing acts whose debut albums and singles are tracked below. Mumford & Sons’ Babel and its setup single “I Will Wait” are among the autumn album releases also listed, along with their singles and label-derived first-week sales projections. As the comparative performance chart indicates, these singles range from disappointing in the cases of Green Day (#3 Alt, #29 Hot AC) and No Doubt (#17 Alt, #18 Pop)—with second singles just serviced on both—to spectacular for Swift and Carly Rae Jepsen. Other acts tracked include Syco/Epic’s Cher Lloyd, Warner Bros.’ Muse and YG/Schoolboy/Republic South Korean viral sensation PSY. Killers, Carly Rae Jepsen Aiming for Top 10 on Next Week's Billboard 200 Albums Chart September 21, 2012 | By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles As previously reported, pop superstar P!nk is likely on course for her first No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The artist's new album, "The Truth About Love," is set for a chart-topping debut next week. Industry sources suggest that the set may move more than 230,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sept. 23. The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Sept. 26. The Kanye West-presented compilation from G.O.O.D. Music, "Cruel Summer," is likely to bow in the No. 2 position with perhaps 190,000 copies sold. The Killers will see its latest set, "Battle Born," possibly start in the No. 3 slot with around 110,000. The group's last studio release, "Day & Age" (2008), debuted and peaked at No. 6 with 193,000 sold in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Notably, "Day & Age" was released during the busy Thanksgiving holiday week that year, so its sales were naturally amplified as many customers were out and about shopping for Christmas gifts. Like P!nk, the Killers have not yet claimed a No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The Killers has previous snared top 10s with their first two studio albums "Hot Fuss" (No. 7) and "Sam's Town" (No. 2). It also grabbed a No. 12 placing for the b-sides collection "Sawdust" and a No. 85 peak for its "(Red) Christmas" EP. "Call Me Maybe" singer Carly Rae Jepsen should also debut in the top 10 with her new album, "Kiss." Sources say the effort could sell in the range of 30,000 to 40,000 copies. Jepsen currently owns the year's second-biggest selling digital song with "Call Me Maybe," as the cut has shifted 5.7 million. The year's best seller is Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" (featuring Kimbra), with 6.4 million moved in 2012. Rock quartet Grizzly Bear is on its way to a career-high week as its just-released "Shields" may sell more than 40,000. The band's last album, "Veckatimest" (2009), currently owns the group's high-water sales mark when it launched with 33,000 at No. 8. Also looking for a top 10 debut is country singer Easton Corbin, with "All Over the Road." The title may start with 30,000 or so copies, and a possible bow in the upper reaches of the tally. On Nielsen SoundScan's Building chart (below), P!nk, "Cruel Summer" and the Killers are Nos. 1-3, respectively. The Building tally is a precursor to the final Billboard 200 ranking, reflecting the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week as reported by six major merchants. As for the rest of the Building chart's top 10: Dave Matthews Band's "Away From the World" is No. 4, followed by Little Big Town's "Tornado" and Jepsen's "Kiss." Corbin is next up at No. 7, while Grizzly Bear's "Shields" and Avett Brothers' "The Carpenter" are Nos. 8 and 9. Closing out the top 10 is Band of Horses' new "Mirage Rock." The Killers actually were slightly above my expectations. I'm seemingly the only one I know who wasn't let down by Day & Age and it seemed like their popularity was waning since then. Agreed- I thought Day and Age was terrific. I still have "A Dustland Fairytale," "Human," and "Spaceman" on repeat. I'm glad they're going to open with over 100k albums. Very good opening week for Pink as well-very well-deserved.

IN THE P!NK: Not only will RCA high-flying pop/R&B diva P!nk’s new album, The Truth About Love, be her first #1, but it has also now soared past the predicted 225-250k and could go as high as 275k.

Yea, its amazing how she's built such a dedicated fanbase thru the years. Her 'real' but still 'fun' attitude seems to have caught on with a lot of people. It seems a lot of the industry has great respect for her too.
