I'm more interested in Country music from her at this point than pop music. "Don't Rush" was my favorite single by her in the last few years.

I hope this is the song that finally gets her to truly break through to country radio. She's never been that playful with her image and cover art since I can't even remember when, I want this spark that's ignited in her to count for some real success on the format.

Is this the Kalisa Ewing co-write? Not sure. One of the confirmed co-writers is Ashley Arrison. Shane McAnally responded quickly to Kelly's tweet about this which is leading me to think he has a hand in it also. Kelly was recently in the studio with him plus Shane and Ashley have a long history together that it makes sense, at least to me.

Is this the Kalisa Ewing co-write? NVM. The Kalisa song she cut is titled "Go On." I'm looking forward to that one; Kalisa can write.

( link) She tweeted about 2 weeks ago that she was in the studio with him which fits with what he said. I'd be really surprised if he didn't have some involvement with this song.

Hoping this is 100x times better than Don't Rush and actually goes somewhere. Keeping my expectations low, I haven't been blown away by a Kelly track in a long time now.

Country peaks:
"A Moment Like This" - #58 "Because of You" - #2 "Don't You Wanna Stay" - #1 "Mr. Know It All" - #21 "Don't Rush" - #23
Excited to hear this and to see where this stacks up against her other Country songs. I'll be happy as long as its at least a moderate success like her last two solo singles.

Can't understand the lyrics so I pray they are good because the melody, instrumentation and overall feel of the song is the perfect style I have been wanting from her in forever. Perhaps a little premature but it is sounding like my favorite KC uptempo single to date. Her first solo smash on country! Welcome home, Kelly!

This has the best audio I've heard so far. I love the song. It's amazing! I hope Country radio likes it as much as I do.
the lyrics by anneashley (Ashley Arrison, one of the writers)at the KCE...
TIE IT UP
i was standin’ with my friend when i saw you walkin’ in and my heart started skippin' a beat
i was tryin’ to play it cool but i knew it was true That nobody would ever compete
well first comes love and then comes...
first date first kiss we were checkin’ off the list then you were gettin’ down on your knee
and you didn’t have to guess it was a always a yes now there’s 2 less fish in the sea
let’s set the date let’s hire a band let’s cut the cake tie up the cans i love the ring of your name you’re the ying to my yang oh baby let’s give it a shot every wall needs a frame every ball needs a chain i’m talkin’ about tying the knot tie it up
something old, something new something borrowed, something blue and the chairs lined up in the yard
the i do’s and the kisses from a miss to a misses can’t wait for forever to start
let’s set the date let’s hire a band let’s cut the cake tie up the cans i love the ring of your name you’re the ying to my yang so baby let’s give it a shot every wall needs a frame every ball needs a chain i’m talkin’ about tying the knot
tie it up invite the town let's raise a glass and lock it down tie it up forever bound Yeah, I'm fit to be tied down
when Mama's kicked off her shoes and Daddy's spinnin' from the booze and the last song is finally sung
we can run to the room kickstart the honeymoon don’t it sound like a whole lotta fun?
let’s set the date let’s hire a band let’s cut the cake tie up the cans i love the ring of your name you’re the ying to my yang so baby let’s give it a shot every wall needs a frame every ball needs a chain i’m talkin’ about tying the knot tie it up

I might have spazzed out a bit in the album thread so I'll show a little more decorum here.
This will be the song to give Kelly her solo hit on country. It's great. Easily my favorite of her country singles (duets included).

My favorite uptempo by her in awhile. Very 90s. That one part reminds me of "You Oughta Know".

I like this a lot, based on that YouTube video. I'm really looking forward to her country album, or at least the country-leaning direction that it appears her new album will take. I was also thinking of "You Oughta Know" at that one point in the song.
I also love that clip posted of her and Trisha. That was really cool!

My initial reaction is that I really like it and I love this style and sound for her. Will it finally be the breakthrough that she's looking for (is she really looking for one??)? I don't know, maybe? It's a very in the moment song for her life and written for her but it's also written to be more universal so hopefully it'll grab others too. I don't expect her to light the charts on fire but I do hope it's at least a moderate hit for her.
Now I'll anxiously await the studio recording so I can get a good listen to the meat of the song that was lost in that live recording.

My favorite uptempo by her in awhile. Very 90s. That one part reminds me of "You Oughta Know". One thing that I really love about Kelly is that she's not afraid to show who her influences are because, a lot of the time, they're pretty diverse and extremely talented females. "i love the ring of your name, you’re the ying to my yang" // "'cause the joke that you laid on the bed that was me", it's basically the same melody. Also, at last night's show she performed with Trisha Yearwood. I think it's pretty awesome because I just recently got into Trisha's music pretty hardcore and I can totally see how her style and little nuances while singing influenced Kelly's current singing style. I'd love for them to record a song together.

Love the edginess that it has. With that being said, the lyrics are pretty lame, but it should still do very well for summer.

Trisha's probably my second favourite country artist, so I love that she's getting herself back in the spotlight. I'd definitely want a collaboration between the two of them.

This is the song that will finally give kelly her first "solo" country big hit! This is what country radio has been waiting for from her!
