Insane how close they all are. Britney could debut at #5 scraping over 100k. Wow.
I mean, she hasn't done anything and the music sucks, so it isn't exactly surprising, but it is sobering.

Spears is preparingfor the start of the Vegas residency, so I'm not sure what people expected in terms of performances or anything from her. She did do some interviews, though, didn't she?

OMG, a part of me wants Kelly to be #2 but at the same time another deeper part of me will rage if Britney doesn't make the upper half of that Top 5 by so little. Tomorrow will prove to be very revealing to me at least.

Britney's Playlist album was top 50 on 70% with more than 16K sold but it is not on the final update where #50 sold 10K.
Silly HITS...

Glad Gaga didn't drop as much as expected. Nice to see Kelly selling more than Britney based on predictions. I like Brit but damn, a #5 bow is a little embarrassing. I think the label was wrong to release an album when there's so much diva hype going on between Miley/Katy/Gaga. I think it would have performed much better if it was pushed back until like Feb.
Let's see what actually happens tomorrow!

I'm depressed. There's only 108k Britney superstans left :( Soon they'll classify us under the endangered species list.

Wow, that's pretty crazy to see #2-5 so close.
Happy that ARTPOP didn't collapse quite as expected.

I'm depressed. There's only 108k Britney superstans left :( Soon they'll classify us under the endangered species list. I don't think that's the case. She just picked the wrong singles, didn't promote and didn't show why fans should pay money to buy an album they can get for free when an artist is barely going to try. I mean not ONE performance, really? To be objective, you get what you give. I'm just glad she passed the 100k+mark. LOL at someone coming for BJ sales being less than Bionic. Only on a message board.

Could they have pulled a Madonna, and let everyone who purchased tix to her show get the album for free?
How did that work again with Madonna's album?

How much has Groban's Noel sold to date? An extra 20k this week is pretty impressive. I know it's over 5.5 million, but does anyone have a closer total?

So this was a quote in a HIts article: "Hard-shopping 'Murcans added another 142k to Garth’s capacious coffers; Roots has dug up 305k RTD (-26%)."
If you do the math, that's acknowledging their numbers were wrong last week and he sold over 160k last week and not 190k. I wonder if someone just saw a 6 and turned it upside down in error to a 9--dyslexia at work.

ificant, there are no freebies with high ticket prices. :) Cher's album is the most recent example of a ticket/album bundle- most of the impact came after the debut week, though.
Spears' team could have had an option to redeem a copy of the album when purchasing tickets to the Vegas show. But, as a residency, there may not be a huge number of tickets scooped u in advance- aside from hardcore fans, it could be something that people just decide to do if they're in Vegas.

And despite the disdain from a few KC stans, that is an impressive showing from The Robertsons. Not a fan of the show or their novelty tracks but the traditional cuts are nice. Assume they'll get to 750K by year end. They have started dropping on iTunes with the sales price over. And I'm surprised the NOW albums still find moderate success.

Oh NO! boohoo Britney didn't get a #1...I am Shocked and saddened . The album is full of b sides in my opinion. Same as most of the pop albums lately, and it's really sad. Well I am glad to see Garth on Top ..feels like the 90's again.

It wasn't free, they had a choice to pay more and get the album, or pay less and not get the album. Of course there are stans where money is no object and they went to every show in the US, so I can't imagine how many albums that was. But they were all legit.
