Hope britney is #1. I never forgave brooks for taking #1 from erotica because Walmart wouldn't carry the explicit version

at Britney the playlist. Must be one of those stocking stuffer CDs on sale. But seriously though, I'm heading to the nearest Walmart and hide those Brooks' set.

Britney is going to obviously be #1 because the Garth Brooks album is a Walmart exclusive therefore all the numbers are already in after the first update and nothing changed after the second. Britney's album is available everywhere and Garth's is not so duh!For those who believe that, please review last week's HITS thread Garth had a big update after the first update, nothing new after the second and a much bigger update after the third update Monday HITS charts mean nothing in terms of what the final numbers are going to be. The numbers that came out last Thursday will be much closer to reality can u elaborate this? So Brit will be no.1 on dis week or Garth brooks?

Why did Walmart report different numbers for HDD and Billboard last week? The total HDD numbers for Garth were 191k while the total Billboard numbers were 164k. Although they report the same thing and are usually pretty close they operate off of different systems and likely their data sources are not identical. But almost a 30k difference between HDD and Billboard numbers from the same store? That's big.

One Direction.
If you apply percentages to the second update and assume Garth updates are done then 1D comes out on top

je suis- it's been 21 years- time to letit go. ;)
Also, RE Brooks- I like to pull this fact one out every now and again. His Double Live benefited from a change in late 1998. The sales week for Handelman Entertainment (which stocks Wal-Mart, I believe) had differed from other retailers- it reported Saturday-Friday sales (vs. Monday-Sunday for other retailers). When Handelman changed it to match all others, that resulted in Garth Brooks' Double Live being the first album in the SoundScan era to shift 1 million+ in its debut week. SoundScan even noted that the record would not have been broken without that shift.
That also could be a reason why second-week drops back then were smaller, as the second weeks included sales that actually were part of the first week (the weekend).
In any event, Brooks and Wal-Mart have a lengthy, successful history together. :)

Blame It All On My Roots will be Garth Brooks' first double #1 on country and top 200 charts since Scarecrow in 2001.

Jive has HITS on the phone as we speak, making sure they have the correct count. 'Count em five, six, 20 times if you have to!"

Lately I've been singing the "Britney's team deserved this, they've done zero promo" tune.
...BUT she did NOT deserve to lose the #2 spot and debut at fucking #5 just by 1000 fucking copies.

I gather that the earlier listing of Spears' Playlist was an error, as it's not on the final chart?
Huge increase for Pentatonix.
