Looks like the first single might be Blow after all. It's already confirmed for Italian radio.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo. I love Blow but XOXO is a pop hit </3
I think XO is the "safer" choice, but nothing was safe about this record so I say, go with "Blow"

Is this the best song on the album? No. Is this the best single? No. Is this the best single for pop? YES. Love this, gorgeous.

My first choice would actually be Drunk in Love. I know it's more "urban" but it's good enough to smash on all fronts. But Blow is still an excellent choice.

Part of me wishes she'll cut out the dual single releases and just service one song to radio each time, and they can eat what's put on their God damn plate. I totally agree.

Blow needs to be the first single. That video = LIFE! Plus that mid-section is gonna have people patting their vaginas for no reason.

"Blow" is now the CHR single; "Drunk In Love" is going to Urban radio. ( Link)

Yonce just snatched a #1 on both CHR and Urban and the Hot 100. Streaming is going to be ridiculous.

For those who preferred XO, apparently it's the second CHR single. They really planned this era out.

I like "Blow"! Nice funky groove to it. It'll need a radio edit, no? It's over 5 min long atm.

Most of her other #1s like Crazy in Love, Single Ladies, Baby Boy, Check On It were released to all formats. I love both the songs, but it's kind of annoying, since both of these songs are potentially crossover hits. Although I honestly won't be too surprised if urban stations play Blow anyway. Also, Part II by Jay-Z is getting released for adds on all formats in January apparently, so we might be seeing Beyonce ft. Jay-Z and Jay-Z ft. Beyonce in the charts at the same time. :)

If they are releasing this to pop, they need to release it to Urban too. Perfectly suitable for that format. No reason this can't be a multi-format smash. I have a feeling this will end up getting played over "Drunk In Love" anyway.
THE VIDEO FOR THIS IS AMAAAAAAAAZING. UGH. PERFECTION.

It makes no sense to me that the CHR/Pop single is Urban, but they're sending something else to Urban. This could just be the single across the board. But they're probably just trying to get multiple songs out there. Urban will play a bunch of Beyoncé songs at the same time like they always do.

They were released at the same time to different formats, both moving up quickly, but suddenly IIWAB stalled and pop picked up SL. They finally pushed SL to pop and IIWAB died fast. Actually... it was very similar to "Unconditionally"/"Dark Horse" right now. (Except, you know, without "Dark Horse" being released to a different format first.) But there's no reason this can't be an "Only Girl"/"What's My Name?" situation.

Top 3 on the Hot 100 & 3m sold ain't nothing to sniff at.

Oh no, definitely not, but I was referring to just its pop performance, where it stalled out at #9 because "Single Ladies" came in and killed it off. Such a shame because I actually really love "If I Were a Boy."

Blame josh for the duplicate thread for "Blow" and the lack of a thread for this. Anyway, this Ryan Tedder cowrite from new album Beyoncé is said to be the second pop single, following "Blow," next year (according to Billboard).

It's not my fault. I made it "TBA" and then Adam (UTR) changed the title on me. Twice. :'( All this after someone locked it, too. My poor thread. :'(

Just like to blame someone other than me. ;) I would have changed the title both times, just you were quicker than me.

This is a little too riding Robin Thicke's d**k for my tastes. I woulve preferred Haunted as first single. Either way its a solid song and choice. The end is grrrr worthy. I feel like tearing that cherry up!
