Just minutes before midnight EST Friday (Dec. 13) morning, Beyonce released her fifth album, a self-titled set, exclusively on iTunes. Details are still emerging on confirmed producers, but guests credited on the "exclusive visual album" are Jay Z, Drake, Frank Ocean and daughter Blue Ivy. "XO," the rumored first single co-penned by Ryan Tedder and The-Dream, is featured. But songs like "Grown Woman," produced by Timbaland and featured in a Pepsi commercial earlier this year, and "Standing on the Sun," penned by Sia and featured in an H&M ad, are nowhere to be found. It's a very beautiful song, but it's quite uneventful for a first single. IDK.

suddenly and outta nowhere she released a digital album ? LOL and what does a visual album mean ? Videos for each song. You get each song and a video for each song, plus I think 2 extra videos, for $15.99. Great deal.

lol they pulled this off so well. I honestly did not expect this at all. I was expecting something more normal like her to release the lead single when Part II was smashing.

I think her doing the Mrs. Carter tour really showed her and her people that she's on another level and can do things like this. I'm not even a big fan, but I'll pay respect where it's due. It's a legend thing to be able to go out on a tour and sell it out without an album in years. She doesn't need radio, and its more about the music for her at this stage in her career and less about the packaging.

I hope this isn't the single. I like it, but there are too many brilliant songs on the album that should be released first.

Part of me wishes she'll cut out the dual single releases and just service one song to radio each time, and they can eat what's put on their God damn plate.
