maine well, they performed it at the CMT awards, which is promo, but the promo had zero impact. P.S: Never mind: they put an icon in the front page of Itunes. It's rising now. It's doing better than the "Drink to That All Night" remix :) Obviously, they performed it at the CTM awards, it has a banner in the front page, the song is in the genre pop and it helps that the lead singers are the most popular Country artists of the moment. They have like 5 songs in the top 200. Jason is popular + they are popular= better performance. Drink to that all night remix on the other hand: * It made the 70s on itunes thanks to Pitbull's star power. No promo, no banner in the front page, the general public doesn't know about this yet. *Jerrod is not too popular in the country genre/. *He is still unknown with the majority of the general public. * Jerrod doesn't have a platinum hit in his career yet. ( Not even one song by Pitbull is rated with 3 stars. We are one' has been criticized online, but it's not this hated on Itunes. We are one is rated with 4/1/2 stars on Itunes USA) Even wild wild love is smashing on the call out scores: www.mmr247.com/mmrweb/call/callout.asp ) So, if Drink to that all night remix is doing something, Pit deserves lots of credit for that, because Pit never collaborates when his collaborators are currently hot or popular.

Yes! So excited for this. I even liked the original, but this is a big upgrade. My only concern is that this is going to potentially derail Drink To This All Night, which in a reasonable world will be our summer song of 2014. FGL really need to do a remix with Flo Rida as well. Think about it... With all the hate on here, I really can't tell if you're being serious or not, but if you are (haha) if you aren't (I respect your opinion) I personally hate the original AND remix of DTTAN and Flo Rida's skills are laughable recently at best (remember when he made decent/okay songs (and Low!!)) so I would hate to see him on a remix (Jason is okay though!) And why are we turning this thread ALSO into a Pitbull thread?!?!?!? This thread should have nothing to do with Pit (not you onefray, someone else) it's okay to discuss similar songs, but don't make entire posts about something not even related to the thread... please.

They didn't technically perform it at the CMT awards - Jason DeRulo didn't sing his verses from the remix and instead sang his own song - but it was exposure nonetheless. And country awards shows are HUGE for exposure. Look how many songs got sales boosts from the CMT Awards, which drew a 1.1 rating and 3 million viewers. Compare that to the lack of boosts for the Billboard Awards, the Idol finale or The Voice finale, which all did like 3x the audience. And your other points are all good. Jerrod Niemann has very little visibility as a mainstream iTunes star. FGL has significant visibility and credibility; the original This is How We Roll went top ten on release (before it received any airplay or whatever). Jason DeRulo is also all the rage right now - this Trumpets song (where is this even getting exposure?) is in the Top 30 on iTunes, and he already has two Billboard top tens from the new album.

Totally agree with you! :) But, I'm optimistic about "Drink to that." too. On youtube the majority likes it, even Rolling Stone loved it. :) Obviously, they performed it at the CTM awards, it has a banner in the front page, the song is in the genre pop and it helps that the lead singers are the most popular Country artists of the moment. LOVE LOVE LOVE this. And I never heard the original and don't care to. Stay mad.
Jason Derulo is become the IT guy at radio this year. "Talk Dirty" was already huge, "Wiggle" is shaping up to be a huge smash, he's got "Trumpets" waiting in the wings to explode (performing amazing on Itunes with no airplay), and now this collabo.

Ok, I'm sold on this now. It was already poppy originally, so it probably wasn't hard to throw this together. What is the point of leaving Luke Bryan? So he can annoy everyone at ever single award show for the next year. He is ALMOST as bad as Taylor Swift. Haha

Haha I think they should have left Luke off this one, too, although they did cut his part down quite a bit with Jason singing the first half of his part. Still, Luke's voice is so different from Tyler's that I never thought it worked well anyway. I wish the version with only Jason was available on iTunes, but oh well. I downloaded the remix with everyone on it.

I just love how pop stations won't play potential crossover smashes from Carrie like "Good Girl" or "Blown Away" because they don't have a "pop mix", but they'll play utter trash like this. Why exactly would you expect pop radio to play country songs that aren't sent pushed to pop in any one capacity? I think "Blown Away" was basically a perfect song to cross over and be huge--even bigger than "Before He Cheats"--but that was never going to happen without so much as an adds date. Can't blame pop for that one. No lie, that still infuriates me to this day that they couldn't even get that so much as a freakin adds date on CHR! >:(

Blown away would smash on pop if they made any effort to do it. The song was even near to chart without any effort from the label.

Question is can both this and Drink To That All Night hit at the same time? And if not, which one is the big hit. Obviously Pitbull>>>Jason Derulo so hopefully Drink To That All Night gets its chance.

I am in awe.

And let's not forget that FGL has its own name at pop.

Popped in the callout scores today with a huge 77.5% familiarity (up from less than 60% last week) ... Idk how that happened. Anyways, it's #4 in positive ranking, #1 in favorite, #5 lowest in negative, #4 in net positive... Ok then. Looks like a hit.

The only reason I'm happy this is taking off is it's going to kill Jerrod Nieman's chances at getting a hit. While this song is bad, Drink to That All Night is far worse imo. Though the best scenario would be both of them failing. Sadly, looks like that's not going to happen...

Idk if I should be happy about this, but I really want Jason to get his first feature hit here...

Well the callout scores are maybe glorious, but this is not climbing like Cruise did by any means.
Maybe explode soon, but i predict a top 20 hit at best

This is the fastest gainer of everything below #35. It's coming hard. Give it a week or two.

"Cruise" was a guilty pleasure for me (although I preferred the original version) and I was prepared for this to be one too, but this is just ridiculous. One of the worst songs I've heard all year.

I think two country crossovers will be perfectly possible if they were very different songs, unfortunately for Jerrod, both songs have exactly the same vibe
