Loved "This Is Gonna Hurt". The preview sounds pretty good.

Yeah, sounds like it'll be good. Their last two lead singles were both amazing, so I'm expecting the same.

I love "The Heroin Diaries" but "This Is Gonna Hurt" was far inferior and I wasn't too big of a fan of "Lies of the Beautiful People" but I'm excited for this.

I predict Top 5 on Active and a no-show on Alt.

"Modern Vintage" really hits the nail on the head when describing this first singles sound. Top 10 on mainstream Rock for sure!

I predict Top 5 on Active and a no-show on Alt. Considering their history, you're likely right. I'm kind of looking forward to hearing what their new material sounds like. Certain songs of theirs I find to be great and others just mediocre.

Like a lot of you, I found their previous lead singles great. Hoping this one will be good as well. If this could show up on Alternative I'd be a happy camper, heh.

There is nothing alternative about Sixx: A.M. whatsoever, and the fact that they charted with their lead singles is simply down to how awesome the songs were in an era where alternative music had no identity.
If anyone expects or believes Sixx: A.M. should chart on alternative, then we should expect Lorde to chart on Active, it's essentially the same thing.

alternative music had no identity. I like to consider myself more of a douchebag than an asshole, but it's all the same, I guess

But it's true. In 2007 when Sixx:A.M. first charted, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus were the only band in the year-end top 10 to not have a previously charting hit single. Any bands trying to push the format were the exception rather than the norm.

Yet to date no Alt station has formally apologized for playing "Hey There Delilah".

Well where did it chart first? Alt, of course. But charting on one chart before another doesn't automatically make it a good song.

I find it a bit funny of what I said back then in the "Hey There Delilah" thread. When I hear the song occasionally now, I don't mind listening to it, but I thought it was lyrically amazing and a great song? I mean it's pleasant I guess you can say as it's a fantasy love song, but I'm still very surprised on well it did on Alternative and lyrically it's ok.
From looking at the date when it was released in 2007, I remember I had a big crush back then on my one of my good friends. That song always presented of an example scenario in my head of what life could be like with her if it worked out which was maybe why I liked it so much. My mind wasn't exactly in its right state at the time I figure. Nevertheless, things didn't work out with that friend, I met the woman who is currently my wife about a year later, and unfortunately that friend I'm referring to passed away almost two years ago from pneumonia. It's just ironic that looking back, this song meant a ton to me. Now, I'm judging it in a different light.

You guys pissed off at "Hey There Delilah". If alt radio stations played that one, then its no wonder "Hey Ho" Lumineers crossed over and became one of the top 10 Alt Rock songs last year. I also disagree that those Hot AC songs become the biggest on Alt Rock year end countdowns. Back in the day alternative stations like KROQ would actually prefer the more alt rock sounding song instead of the most popular song on the pop charts. One perfect example would be The Cars. Thier top 10 hits like "Drive" and "Shake It Up" would turn up at lower positions on the year end list then say "Since You're Gone" and "Hello Again" songs that barely grazed the pop charts. Those would be in top 20. Just an example, but I wish things were like that again. At least it would seem more credible.
