Like I thought, Eric's not going to get a 2nd week at #1 with this. He's down a little bit in audience this week, and Luke Bryan is already #1 on the Billboard RTT. It looks like Luke should take over the Mediabase #1 fairly easily as well.
I was really surprised to see "#1 and holding strong" ads out for Eric on Monday, not only because it seemed impossible for this song to gain any more, but also because Luke is Eric's label-mate and he was only 1 million behind in audience as well. It seemed like a foregone conclusion that Eric would only be able to get 1 week at #1, so those "#1 and holding" ads really caught me by surprise. But sure enough, "Talladega" was basically at the ceiling. It's not really falling yet, but Luke shouldn't have any trouble taking over the top spot.

@windmillsmusic
"@planmymistake @jasonthsscott @broadwayonair The brother of 1 of Eric's frequent writers shot that down, said "Like A Wrecking Ball"
Maybe "The Joint" was something with little merit by Broadway and "Like A Wrecking Ball" will be next.

^I really hope that's the next single, it's best song left on the album in my opinion and should do decent.

^ Yup. Makes complete sense. He has momentum, and let's remember, Grammys next Sunday......Like a Wrecking Ball will explode worldwide if he performs it. It should sell really well. Then he still has 2-4 songs left that would do well enough on radio.

I figured out a few days ago that it wasn't going to be "The Joint" and would most likely be "Like A Wrecking Ball". Gotta protect my source though! ;)

Oh that would be fantastic. I love Like a Wrecking Ball and it's still edgy. Hope we get the official word soon!

Windmills was referencing this post in her tweet, she doesn't have any inside information pertaining to Eric's next single release: Nah...wrecking ball has been front runner to be next for a long time. The joint talk is just internet chatter, I think. On a personal note, I fullly endorse "Like A Wrecking Ball."

"Like a Wrecking Ball" makes a lot more sense than "The Joint," that's for sure.

I'm sure 'Like A Wrecking Ball' will do fine (and do a lot better than 'The Joint' would), but I still prefer the idea of 'Roller Coaster Ride' or 'Broke Record' being the next single. I'm not a fan of 'Wrecking Ball'. I find it to be too slow and without substance, so I will not be excited to hear it on the radio if that happens.

"Roller Coaster Ride" is my favorite song on the album other than "Give Me Back My Hometown". It would definitely be my choice for the next single as well but "Like A Wrecking Ball" would be my second choice and whatever they picked will be a change a pace for country radio. The production on both tracks is what sets them apart and I do think "Like A Wrecking Ball" will do fine (fine as in top 20).

I don't know, I've always been pretty "meh" on "Roller Coaster Ride". It's not a bad song, it just never stood out to me. It probably would work as a single, but I prefer "Wrecking Ball". I also love "Broke Record," and wouldn't mind seeing that one next.

Ha! I wouldn't use me as a reference. I'm wrong more than I'm right!

I really like both "Roller Coaster Ride" and "Like A Wrecking Ball" so either one of them as the next single would be great. And I actually think both of them are pretty radio-friendly. Each of them definitely has a cool/unique sound to it, but I think they'd both do well at radio. I'm not saying they're slam-dunk #1's (which is how I felt about both GMBMH and "Talladega"), but I wouldn't be all that surprised if they went to #1 either, or at least top 10.

I hope its not "Like A Wrecking Ball". A slow, boring song about vigorous sex doesn't appeal to me. On the other hand if it's "Roller Coaster Ride" I'll be extremely happy. I love that the song lives up its title and really feels like a roller coaster when you hear it. Plus I think its cool that they incorporated a roller coaster as a metaphor for a post-break up. Hopefully they can go 6 singles deep and see both released. I wouldn't mind Wrecking Ball if it helped boost Eric's momentum kinda how I don't mind "Beachin" anymore since it helped Jake Owen's "What We Ain't Got" do well on the charts

Wrecking Ball is a fan favorite (I like it a lot-it is different and clever-not your usual ballad) but I don't think it is that radio friendly. It is very slow and the organ may sound odd on radio. Roller coaster is one of my least favorites on the album-I don't dislike it but there is really nothing standout about the theme or melody (although the melody fits the song very well with its up and down the scale sound like a Roller coaster). But I think Roller Coaster might be more radio friendly. Of course both songs are way better than The Joint as far as a radio single goes
