Crossing to pop radio soon, according to this week's Columbia newsletter. Top 10 peak at AAA; just hit top 40 on Alt.

Some of these crossovers are going to be lost in the shuffle. This will probably be one of them.
also why isn't Big Data top 50 yet dammit

Too many Alt crossovers are happening at once. Like slow down. This is a good song, but this won't do anything.

And despite getting an official week in at #40 on Hot AC, it's now losing spins. Clearly the bass in the song is too heavy for pop listeners lol.

Clearly the bass in the song is too heavy for pop listeners lol. I thought pop listeners were all about the bass. So did I. The bass in "Dangerous" is the most notable part of it though, and it's quite in your face lol. That's why everyone in the rock forum was disagreeing with you about it being "too poppy" back when you didn't like it lol.

I only said that because I wasn't a fan of it Anyways, at least Riptide and Stolen Chance are flopping. Maybe there is some justice in the Pop radio world.

I love love love this song, and it's a grower. George is really big in UK right now (he is part of the male young trio dominating the charts with Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith).
The song is too good to be ignored

Stolen dance (i really really don't like this song) and Riptide are doing great on Hot AC, they are not in their pop adds day yet, and near top 50 on billboard hot 100. Their chances to break into the pop chart are not as big as Take me to church (wich is now bubbling under the chart and with the explosion of sales on itunes it will be rare if it won't make an impact on pop) but far better than Dangerous wich never passed the bubbling under chart

Well, both have gone Top 25 at Hot AC and are developing mainstream recognition/sales volumes, so they didn't entirely fail to garner crossover exposure. And insofar as songs like Cool Kids didn't really start moving at pop until they became big at Hot AC, it's definitely too early to completely write them off. But even if they don't move at all at pop, why exactly would that imply "justice?" Songs currently charting at pop include dreadful releases like "Fireball," "LA Love," "Secrets" and "I Can't Stop Drinking About You." A world in which those nightmares outchart Stolen Dance and Riptide is not a just one.

Interesting... I'm not too big on it, but I can see it having longevity like it did in the UK. It literally re-entered the UK top 10 a couple weeks ago, but it's all god now.

Anyway Budapest is not competing with those songs. Budapest is a pure pop song not a proper crossover
And by the way, i think Riptide is way better than Dangerous

Is the album available in Canada yet in CD form? I think importing is the only option for North America right now for anything other than the Did You Hear The Rain? EP.

If this is not a massive hit in US then a crime has been committed . Doesn't it appeal to country fans as well ? . The follow up " blame it on me " is even better .

Love this song. He is touring with Sam Smith, and it's going to do the same with Hozier in march, that should give him some evisibility. The song is doing well on hot ac (alt and AAA) and it's top 100 on itunes. This just needs to happen

I've heard 3 of his songs, and I honestly can't say I see whatever appeal there is in this guy. This one is the worst of the bunch, and listening to alternative radio in Canada (where this was a #1) I can truly account for how overplayed this is, and how ridiculously high the burnout rate is.

I just never understood the hype for this. It's a cute little number. Idk.
