How about "Gravity's A B......." Kidding, naturally. I like "Girls" and I love "Hard Staying Sober"... What about "Holding Onto You?" I think the ballads are the "safer" choices but with summertime approaching they may not wanna go that route.

I think that "Girls" would be the best choice for the fourth single. After two loud, rocking singles in a row, it tones it down a bit but not enough for it to be too slow for radio. The only thing that worries me a bit about this choice is that with the lack of female voices on radio, how will they take to a song that is kind of about girl power sung by a woman? I personally would love to see them try out "Babies Makin Babies" as a single, but doubt that will happen. (After "Girls", they should choose "Priscilla" as the fifth single and then move on the next era. Just my opinion.)

^Considering one of the biggest hits of Miranda's career is "Gunpowder & Lead," I don't think radio has any problem with songs about girl power at all. The lack of females on the charts doesn't have anything to do with programmers disliking females or the concept of female power. Rather, it's due to the phenomenon that females' songs seem to have worse callout scores in general, so I guess it's the listeners' "fault." However, one of the top testing female songs at radio right now is Kelsea Ballerini's "Love Me Like You Mean It," which imo is one of those "female empowerment" songs about a woman being strong and telling her boyfriend that he has to be sincere and devoted to her, so I don't think even the listeners have a problem with female power. That being said, I just don't know if "Girls" would really catch on much. I'm still holding out hope for "Smokin' and Drinkin'" and it frustrates me to see Miranda's radio career going south this era when her label is leaving such an obvious smash on the table (same issue I have with the single choices from Jake Owen's last record).
I wonder whether Miranda will perform "Little Red Wagon" or a new single at the ACM awards. Right now it's a ridiculous uphill battle trying to save this on the charts as it's been losing audience like crazy over the past few days and is clearly done, so to me there's no point in trying to perform it live this late in the game, but given the series of bad decisions Sony has made in handling their artists lately, I wouldn't be surprised if they still had Miranda perform this, blowing her opportunity to attract hype around a new single.

It was already mentioned in the ACM awards thread that Miranda is doing a mash-up of "Mama's Broken Heart" and "LRW."

I'm praying for Another Sunday in the South next to bring her back with a big hit. Then 5th can be Girls or Platinum.
But my luck this era Priscilla will be next. :/

Not a Miranda fan at all. I only really like one song she's released "House that Built Me" and I do like Priscilla and Another Sunday in the South off this current album. I don't know the song but recently I've been hearing a commercial on TV with her singing a song that I'm sure is not on any Album but I love the softer feel of it and wish she's record more songs like it. Anyone know what song that is that I've been hearing on the commercial?

Also read on twitter today that Miranda was rehearsing "Dear Diamond". Perhaps for the duets special?

The weird thing for me with this album is there's so many choices that could be singles but they've picked the wrong ones as far as I'm concerned.
"Old Shit", "All That's Left", "Gravity Is A Bitch", and "Two Rings Shy" are the only songs I wouldn't consider for single material. Everything else I could see becoming a hit.
That being said the back to back rockers of "Somethin' Bad" and "Little Red Wagon" was a dumb choice, they're too similar for such a diverse album. And "Somethin' Bad" is probably my least favorite on the album, it felt a little like a throw away filler song. I wish her and Carrie had done a different song together.
I think they're still going 5 singles deep but I'd love to see 7.
01. "Automatic" 02. "Somethin' Bad" 03. "Little Red Wagon" 04. "Another Sunday In The South" 05. "Priscilla" 06. "Platinum" 07. "Holding On To You"
I love "Smokin' And Drinkin'" but it missed it's chance when LRW was released.

Oh for me I was debating "Platinum", "Priscilla" or "Girls" so I'm right there with you. The problem is all three would be a bit too much I think. They all feel similar to me so any two would work but a third I couldn't bring myself to do in a row. I picked "Priscilla" because everybody I've shown the album to seems to prefer that one over "Girls". I even would've loved to see "Gravity" as a single but I know that's never going to happen lol Even getting to 5 singles is going to be iffy so my dream of 7 singles or even Shania-esque 12 singles isn't going to happen. Seriously though other than the 4 I mentioned in my first post this is an album I'd love to see do like Come On Over and get 12 singles, just so all the great material gets to see the light of day.

Miranda's last two albums have both had five singles, so I'm expecting this one to as well. I sure wish Miranda was debuting a new single tonight rather than the mashup of LRW/MBH, but hopefully a new single is announced quickly. There really are so many fantastic single choices on this album, and they've really dropped the ball on that this era. Hopefully singles 4 and 5 help make up for it.

I still don't understand how, for an album that is as much about the different facets of a woman, and Miranda in particular, as Platinum is, "Girls" wasn't the lead single, much less how "Girls" hasn't been a single yet. I'll be interested to see if a new label head has any impact on single selection, not just for Platinum, but for Carrie, Miranda, Sara, and other Sony Nashville female artists down the road. Carrie's Blown Away singles weren't representative of an album that ran a sonic gamut to dramatically orchestral to country, and Miranda's Platinum singles haven't represented the range of her album either.

Thank You! this is the song. I really like the sound and the feel and I could easily become a fan with more of this type song from her.

THIIIIIIS. "Girls" seemed/seems like such an obvious single choice to me. And I obviously co-sign on the Blown Away notion, even though I enjoyed all four (ugh, only four...RIP) of the singles released. There's a lot of opportunity left on Platinum, so here's hoping some positive shifts come now that "Little Red Wagon" is over and done with. I'm still surprised that a new label head hasn't been appointed and/or announced yet. It's been, what, a month since Overton announced his departure?

Where was the discussion for the 2015 ACM awards? Last time the awards show were under the Live music thread. The country award shows have always had their threads in the country forum. Now they are in the country sub-forum (so that the main forum stays based on radio singles). The ACM thread was started back in January. pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/146145/annual-academy-country-music-awards

"Mama's Broken Heart" is one of my favorite Miranda songs and I'm glad she sang some of it tonight. She's always so fun to watch live. Never really was able to get into "Little Red Wagon" but it is better live. I like the spunk and attitude that Miranda puts into it.

Wow, what a great sounding song! Is this recorded anywhere - like a full song? I also love this toned down sound for Miranda.

I think this one will spend one more unbulleted week on MB this Sunday before being sent recurrent on May 3rd. "Little Red Wagon" lost 426k in audience today along with losing 65 spins and that puts it down 460k in audience and 73 spins for the week (it had a decent Monday update).
It all depends whether RCA wants foolishly to fight for airplay here but it's very evident this one is done.

RCA Nashville will be completely off the chart once this is done, so I expect they'll immediately get to working a new Miranda Lambert single next week. Old Dominion is signed to RCA, but I'm not sure if "Break Up with Him" will be worked by Sony before its new May 11th add date. It's hard to believe Sony's powerhouse is flopping so badly right now.

I think "Another Sunday in the South" is the most radio friendly single of the album. I would love that as a single.

Guess we'll find out soon enough!! I love every song from her so it's a bummer this song is done, but it wasn't the best decision for radio and I'm sure others will do better. Especially after the awards on Sunday, I highly doubt her camp is too worried.

This did better than "Cold One" and Eric Church bounced back easily, so Miranda will be just fine. I'm really rooting for whatever she releases next to be the one to get her that elusive #1 country airplay hit she hasn't had yet this era.

This is now "officially" finished as "Little Red Wagon" lost a whopping 104 spins and 600k in total audience, bringing it's weekly total so far to 1.0 million in audience lost.

I'm waiting for next year's A.C.M. Awards. Miranda Lambert should get another Milestone Award for being the first six time Female Vocalist Of The Year Whose Current Single Fizzles Out Just Before The Awards And Does Not Reach The Top Ten.

It lost nearly a million today alone, so it's plummeting now. Hopefully we'll see a fourth single announcement in one of the trades on Monday, and get this album era back on track at radio.
