Ugh, I've had this on repeat ALL.FREAKING.DAY. It's such an earworm. Even though I can't understand half the words yet, lmao.
I think I might actually like this a little more than Latch? It's hard to say - I really loved Latch - but this feels a bit smoother.

Top 20 on iTunes! (#17) If you don't find the O-O-O-O-O-O-O-Omen refrain catchy, than you're obviously dead. Catchy indeed, but what gets stuck in my head most is actually the prechorus. "It's an ooooooomen...." it's a collaboration both parts benefit (Sam really needs to be far from ballads for a while, because his label strategy of singles in the USA is terrible, they were able to kill his momentum on radio, something that it seemed impossible) Yes! Features like this are what put Sam on the map, only for him to essentially lose the majority of those initial fans with In The Boring Hour. Not that this song is "edgy," but compared to "Stay With Me" or "Lay Me Down" we may as well call it an octagon. Even though I can't understand half the words yet, lmao. Sam has marble mouth for sure. Imagine a duet with him and Ariana Grande? Or let's just not. Anyway, this song is about DISCLOSURE (and Jimmy Napes, who lbr, is the main reason this is an earworm).

Let's be fair, he was a fat gay british unknown singer trying to break into the big markets, being edgy is not exactly the best way to make it, the fact that his love life (which totally looks like a desert) is the inspiration for the album makes the rest, but hey, he sold more than 2 million in the USA and he must be not very far from that in the UK, so probably he can (and should) add more variety to the next album. As i say it's the typical collaboration where both part benefit. It's not the typical song radio is eager to play, but Latch wasn't either, and the good sales (and the names attached to the song) can be enough to radio to give it a try

The first two listens of this didn't do much for me, but from the third one on that's when it sort of finally clicked and certain aspects of the production come out to play. This is really good! It's no "Latch", but that is by no means an insult all things considered. There is a certain nostalgia that comes to mind with that so it's a pretty hard song to beat for me. For me this is the best thing they have released so far with this new era. The other songs have been good enough, but this is a cut above here.

Great update! But wow, its really hard to get into the Top 50 right now. That would have put them in there on past charts.

No, it's a great tune. Sam's vocals are amazing as usual here.

Latch is borderline perfection for me, so I didn't expect that to be replicated. However, this is pretty good. I'm just not feeling the "o-o-o-men" bit. Bit of an awkward word to try to fashion a hook out of.
As an aside on the video, holy fucking shit Sam Smith got hot!

I bought this on iTunes a few days ago. Love the song and Sam's vocals. Saw him in concert the other night and you'd never know he underwent vocal surgery. Was fantastic And to the person above me talking about him being 'hot' now. In person he defintely looks like a different man than the one who walked across the Grammy stage back in Feb.

Def not as good as Latch but I love Sam's voice on huge chorus, and their music videos so far this era are on point

Top 50 on Pop: 708 49 DISCLOSURE Omen f/Sam Smith 545 1 544 5.322 That was fast! I definitely think this'll be a sizable US hit in the end.

Latch was a really slow gainer if I remember correctly didn't it peak at like #3 after a long stay on the chart?
Anyway I agree with the majority that latch was better, but I think this could grow on me too like Latch did!
