The panel chart on the previous page has been updated, as tonight's BCU said St. Louis' KSD will join the Billboard panel starting with next week's chart. Also, I mistakenly listed KATM in both the Mediabase-only column and the Billboard-only column (Billboard lists the station as Modesto while Mediabase lists it as Stockton, which is the reason for the error). KATM is now in the "stations shared" list. Edit: The Mediabase panel has also changed. According to Country Aircheck, "airplay for inclusion in the chart [for these new stations] will begin Aug. 1." KSD is being added, so it is now on both panels. WIOV and WOKQ (formerly Billboard-only stations) are now both on Mediabase. San Diego's KUSS is the fourth station being added to Mediabase. It is currently only on the Mediabase panel. Here's the new chart:

Question on the chart above , ( btw its a great reference) but you are listing WRNS- Greenville,NC mediabase only and WRNS-New Bern, NC as billboard only. I'm a little confused :(

I'm a little confused :( Thanks for pointing that out. That's another case of Billboard and Mediabase listing a different city for the same station, and I didn't recognize it. WRNS is now in the "stations shared" section.

^ thanks for the clarification
ETA; 8/6/10 Does anyone know why KFKF-Kansas City is no longer listed under Mediabase board and they are showing 128 stations. it had been there all week but when I checked this morning it was no longer listed. It is still showing on AllAccess though.

As you can see, the chart has changed a bit today. I just got a new widescreen laptop, so I have less space vertically and more space horizontally. I'm still in the process of figuring out what will work best for everyone to see, so feel free to give me suggestions. Also, my chart might soon start getting posted to a new website (countrycharttalk.com). If we can figure out a way to do it, my chart will be posted directly there (instead of me having to take a screen shot).
I'm off to see Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Darius Rucker, Sara Evans, and Easton Corbin at Gillette Stadium, so I'll check back here tomorrow afternoon/night.

Like northerncountry, I no longer have access to the full Mediabase chart. Unless something changes, I'll only be able to include the top 50 songs AllAccess shows.

^What happened with the chart? It appears that we have been locked out of the account, presumably because too many people have access to it.

Since we've had some panel changes recently, I updated my spreadsheet. St. Louis' KSD should be back on both panels after the holidays (it has flipped to holiday only music for now). There have also been a few other changes since I last updated. Both panels are now at 126 stations, and both are monitoring 13 stations that are exclusive to one panel.

I most likely won't have internet access until Sunday, so there probably won't be another update until then. Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving!

IS THIS TRUE?:
"the new Billboard country chart, which is to incorporate digital sales into the formula along with regular airplay. This chart is apparently going to be the new 'main' country chart."

One word: Yes. There is a ton of discussion on the Jason Aldean/Kelly Clarkson thread if you want to check it out.

It looks like we should have some housecleaning next week, especially in the top 10. Right now it appears The Band Perry, Brad Paisley, and Rodney Atkins will all go recurrent. And of course Dierks will leave too, so that means there will be at least 4 openings on the chart.

I wanted to take the time to thank you, rowdawg21, for the work he puts into this. It can't be easy compiling this daily, so I wanted to let you know that I appreciate it! It definitely makes chart watching easier. ;)

Sorry for the lack of updates during the first couple of weeks of this month. I forgot to mention that I would be on vacation from January 5-12.
Based on the first two days of the Billboard chart week and what I've seen of the Mediabase Real Time chart today, I'm guessing we could see 5 (possibly more) songs go recurrent next week. Here are the most likely candidates:
1. My Kinda Party (will finally fall out of the top 10 and go recurrent) 2. Country Strong (lost nearly 400k last week, should lose audience again next week) 3. Tell Me You Get Lonely (lost over 200k last week, should lose audience again next week) 4. Soldiers & Jesus (lost about 80k last week, losing spins so far this week) 5. The House Rules (only 13 weeks old, but has lost audience the last 2 weeks and is down again so far this week)
Other possibilities (I think most if not all these songs will stay on the chart next week):
1. The Shape I'm In (up 150k for the week, but did not have a bullet last week) 2. Good To Be Me (up 100k for the week, but did not have a bullet last week) 3. Pants (about even for the week and did not have a bullet last week, should be helped by re-entering the countdown shows this weekend but there's a chance it might not be enough) 4. Good Hands (only 15 weeks old, but has dropped in audience the last 2 weeks)
Here are my odds on the number of songs that will go recurrent next week (feel free to post your own too):
Less than 3 songs: 15% 3 songs: 35% 4 songs: 25% 5 songs: 20% More than 5 songs: 5%

Hi rowdawg,
Like some of the posters did a few weeks ago, I wanted to thank you for maintaining this chart. In some ways, it's been responsible for me becoming a bigger fan of country music. I first started checking in when I was interested in following Miranda Lambert's singles from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and when I noticed an interesting song title climbing the list, I'd track it down and listen to it. I found so many songs I liked that I eventually started listening to samples of everything on the chart, and now, I'm interested in artists I never would have heard otherwise. (I live in New York City, so there's no country radio here.)
So thanks for being my gateway drug to a country music addiction!

I'm sure Aldean is leaving, and I'm sure Frankie Ballard is leaving. So you're right on those two. Gwyneth should regain her bullet, but I do think Otto is better than a 50-50 shot to leave. It's too close and panel differences could be enough to keep him on, but I think he'll wind up with a loss of about 120k on MB and that should mean he leaves. House Rules should also go, so that's 4 recurrents right there. Pants looks like a safe bet to re-bullet, as does Uncle Kracker. I haven't been keeping up with Nichols this week, because early in the week he looked safe to me. Plus, why do you think he didn't have a bullet last week? He lost audience, but he kept his bullet according to the BCU. I haven't checked on Good Hands at all -- I'm not being very thorough. Here's my end-of-the-week candidate: Carrie. She's losing 1.5 mill and more per day, and she lost 200 spins overnight (I write this on Sunday afternoon). If she loses another 200 Monday, she's got a good chance to leave because I think Billy C would be the 10th song to rank above her in spins. I didn't take this too seriously earlier in the week, but Jonsolo raised the question and I should know better than to ignore his comments. That one will be very close, and she's probably still the favorite to hang on. I'll go with 5 recurrents, at this point. Again, I'm not trying to compete -- I realize I'm posting this near the end of the week.

Again, I'm not trying to compete -- I realize I'm posting this near the end of the week. I agree with your assessments. I thought Gwyneth was highly likely to go recurrent early in the week despite the fact that she was up in audience when I wrote that post. With her 400k loss last week and the movie now out and not doing too well, I didn't have a reason to believe it would continue to be promoted this week. Thanks for catching my mistake on Joe Nichols' bullet. Sometimes I seem to forget that a decrease in audience doesn't necessarily lead to the loss of a bullet. I should have double checked that. I think the only reason I included Joe in my list of possible recurrent songs is because it did have a slight loss in audience and it is 26 weeks old. He did look safe early in the week, as you said, but I thought there was a small possibility it could start losing audience later in the week. Good Hands is up slightly for the week, so that one looks safe as well. I do agree that Carrie is the favorite to hang on, but Jon's ability to see that close call coming is impressive.

Wouldn't Carrie still rank #10 in spins even if Billy passes her (which appears to have happened)? Were we not accounting for Jason falling below Carrie?

^ Blame it on me. Jon probably said Lady A would have to be the 10th song, which they clearly didn't do. But what I did was list 10 artists who would be above Carrie and I added the spins gain of Jason Aldean's duet to the last-week Billboard spins total of Jason's old song. That's not very careful of me.
And here's what really happened -- of course Carrie stayed on, at #10 in spins because of what it says above.
And James Otto stayed on, despite a loss of 171k. That's 2 grace weeks in a row. I didn't think the rules permitted that. I don't get what BB is doing these days -- they seem to be making up the rules as they go.
Christian Kane's gone, Frankie Ballard's gone, Jason Aldean's gone.

I just saw the projection list for today. Is it official that "Soldiers & Jesus" from James is still going to be on the Radio & Records list here tomorrow at #34?
