Am I the only one who thinks he looks like Justin Moore? (at least in the single cover)
In all seriousness, this is pretty good.

Perhaps maybe a little. @nickv1025 posted the video that I was going to post after I saw your comment but in the video he looks nothing like Justin. He's definitely got some sort of mullet haha. And yes this is such a good song that definitely grew on me. It's becoming one of my current favorites. I'm very impressed he turned that Sam Hunt song on his Acoustic Mixtape Between The Pines into that beautiful masterpiece.

That Opry performance was great. <3 His voice is just really freaking beautiful. I love that music like this is still made by newer artists, even though it's not likely to make much of an impact on the country charts.

I loved the Sam Hunt version (which by the way is on Spotify now, he made a new acoustic ep), then I heard this....wow!!! What a great COUNTRY song with even better vocals!

I really want to start hearing this song on the radio. Wondering when they will start playing this song.

Just heard this earlier this morning on 93Q (KKBQ/Houston), and it's astonishing to put it mildly; I certainly hope radio gets behind this 100% for it could be downright huge in 2016.

I'm still stubbornly hopeful this can make a top 40 run come 2016 but "I Met A Girl" has only increased 100 total spins over the past seven weeks and less than 900k in total audience over that time. KKBQ in Houston is the sole reason this one is so high on Billboard right now; they've contributed nearly 1.4 of this song's audience over the past seven days...that's roughly 45% of "I Met A Girl's" total Mediabase audience. Morgan's song went for adds all the way back in August. I fear that when KKBQ lets this one go, that will be it for "I Met A Girl's" chart run.

It's going to take 23 weeks since going for adds but "I Met A Girl" is finally looking to crack the Mediabase top 40 this Sunday. Thomas Rhett, LoCash and Jana Kramer will be going recurrent, which will open up three spots in the top 40. One of those spots is guaranteed to be for "Humble And Kind", with "I Met A Girl" in prime position at #42 on the rolling chart to take a spot as well. "Power Of Positive Drinkin'" and "Lovin' Lately" are also in contention. Morgan's song is already in the Billboard top 40 but unfortunately for him, that hasn't helped with countdown spins.
I'm glad this will be a top 40 single but I have to wonder how much longer Warner Music Nashville can hang in with this one. I mean, it went for adds in August and is just now cracking the MB top 40...that's a really long time, even nowadays. The biggest negative though is KKBQ in Houston -- they're still the main supporter of this song. It's eerie how much alike this chart run is to Mo Pitney's "Country." Mo's song took a while just to crack the top 40 too, and was also heavily aided by KKBQ. "I Met A Girl's" audience is 5.3 million right now, with nearly 1.3 of that audience coming from KKBQ...that's almost a quarter of Morgan's audience.
I think this can perhaps climb a few spots higher but again, that station has been notorious for just stopping a song's spins in its tracks and if they pull the plug because they feel their listeners are sick of it, that might be it.

Looks like KKBQ started slashing "I Met A Girl" airplay this week. "I Met A Girl" will luckily get CT40 spins this week but it did fall out of the MB Top 40 this week so it looks like "I Met A Girl" will probably be leaving in the next couple of weeks.

"I Met A Girl" was added by the Cumulus block this week. Lovely news! I was beginning to worry this was nearing the end of the road, but the Cumulus adds should help this one out quite a bit. Perhaps it can keep going awhile longer.

Perhaps it can keep going awhile longer. It should help it keep going a little longer but it's burned through so many weeks in the 30's and 40's I doubt this can become a big hit. We'll see just how much longer this can last. "I Met A Girl" got 14 adds this week.

Yet another reason to despise the suffocating grip which bro-country music has at what should be the most LISTENABLE format out there; tremendous song from start to finish with superb lyrics and great production, but which appears to be dying at country radio for no remotely intelligent reason.
Even a superb radio station such as KKBQ can't support this for nmonths and months as they did with DTWAFB until finally pulling their support for it two weeks ago.
Mediocrity rules while excellence gets shunned---really sucks doesn't it?

Remember when I said five weeks ago that "I Met A Girl" might be on its last legs? That was then...this is now. Morgan's song has caught a spark as "I Met A Girl" climbed to #34 on Billboard and #37 on Mediabase this past week. The song had two crucial things happen -- it got the Cumulus block aboard -- and it got major conversions. This song was in light rotation on most stations spinning it and the only station that had it in heavy rotation in January was KKBQ in Houston, which was boosting its audience. The irony is that KKBQ has dramatically reduced its airplay but everything else has broken this song's way lately (that station had to reduce the spins at some point, since it had it in heavy rotation for so long). "I Met A Girl" is up 77 spins and 600k in audience this week and has increased 400 spins and 2.4 million in audience over the past three weeks. Even though a good chunk of its audience gains are coming from Westwood One, it still managed to increase nearly 1.0 million in audience on Billboard this past week. The best news is probably that the stations who have had "I Met A Girl" in heavy to medium rotation right now, haven't had it that way for too long, so there's room to grow. This song went for adds nearly 30 weeks ago, so I'm not about to predict a top 10 finish, but this song has gotten a second wind in the nick of time. The EP release is helping Morgan as well and I'm glad this one is finally reaching a larger audience.

Just a reminder for all of you who didn't blow your last $6 on Kane Brown's mixtape of fire beats and generic instrumentation, WMM released his EP on Friday. And it's well worth the money. Steel, fiddle, and real life.

The Highway has started spinning "Vinyl" it's regular rotation. Looks to be the follow-up single to "I Met A Girl."
That would be my choice as well. It was the clear favorite to be the next single.

"Vinyl" is my second favorite behind "Cheap Cologne" so I'm thrilled that's looking to be the choice. I expected "Backseat Driver" because it's a little safer.
Could you imagine hearing "Vinyl", "Outskirts of Heaven" and "Holdin' Her" back-to-back-to-back?
