There was a 600k audience swing on Mediabase today between "I Met A Girl" and "It Don't Hurt Like It Used To", with IDHLIUT being the beneficiary. I'm expecting Billy to come away with Billboard tonight. And both songs will be celebrated as #1 hits by labels, publishers and more in Nashville. I don't think anyone was going to argue that.

Does this standout song have a shot at finishing #1 for the year at Billboard thanks to 45+ weeks on the chart?

Wouldn't one of its main competitors be Jon Pardi's Head Over Boots?

Gonna be interesting to see where he goes now. I would be highly surprised if "Something to Drink about" or "Beer Drinker" isn't his next single. Both seem like the most likely candidates to maintain momentum for another year or two before his 3rd single from the album is released.

I'm thinking Missing is next, but eventually they have to go with something uptempo and there are only what 3 or 4 uptempos on the album

"Beer Drinker" seems like a song that would get played on commercials and have a big concert presence. May not move to the top of the charts, but it would definitely get him a bigger fan base.
I still think they'll go.
"Vinyl" "Beer Drinker" (and if the momentum is there) "Missing"

No surprise, this missed #1 on Billboard. 1.1 million in audience was the difference.
Warner knew they deficit was too big this week so they just didn't bother and was content with the Mediabase #1.

Good to see Sam Hunt get his 7th #1 hit as a songwriter. Incredible that his "Between the Pines" mixtape has produced 6 future #1 songs (3 for himself, 3 for other artists). Amazing!

Our fifth split chart this year. William Michael Morgan taking MediaBase while Billy Currington taking Billboard.

This exquisite-and-then-some masterpiece is my hands down winner for the title of 'most infuriating chart run of 2016'.
In a RATIONALLY-programmed country radio world this mesmerizing single would have at least matched or surpassed the respectable 17-week trek to #1 which 'I Loved Her First' accomplished ten years ago this month.
That's my two cents take on two exceptional debut singles, FWIW.

Anyway Billboard, it reached #2 on YOUR chart: www.billboard.com/articles/news/magazine-feature/7534376/william-michael-morgan-i-met-a-girl

Thanks for agreeing with me buffalocountry; I can't believe how much this format has deteriorated in just the past 5 years alone.
Even the 21 weeks which 'Southern Voice' needed to reach the penthouse in January of 2010 seemed abnormally long to me.
