Sounds pretty anthemic... But doesn't sound like it'll totally be lacking country characteristics. I'm just excited for new music from them! In the end, good music is good music, regardless of the genre(s). I'm pumped for this and their album, I'm ready for them to be the format's next superstar!

I can already tell from that clip that I'm gonna love this song. Kimberly's look gives me big No Doubt vibes. Hopefully they will put more emphasis on her and less on the other 2 and their weird haircuts/style.
EDIT - I just saw the new promo image and love their new look.

In the end, good music is good music, regardless of the genre(s). Right, but I'd rather hear the good pop music on top 40 radio and hear the good country music on country radio. I've never been a huge fan of The Band Perry to be honest. I find Kimberly's vocals grating on some of their hits like "You Lie', "All Your Life", "Postcard From Paris" and "Chainsaw", but I think "Done" had a terrific melody and "Don't Let Me Be Lonely" was one of my favorite of 2013 -- great lyrics and Kimberly's vocals were quite good. I couldn't really get too much out of that short snippet, so I wait to comment on the song until I hear the whole studio version.

I am certainly seriously stoked for new music one of the format's very best artists, and hopefully their string of hits and superb music will continue for years to come.
'Better Dig Two'would have been the #1 country single of 2013 had it not been for the unprecedented recurrent airplay for the excruciating 'Cruise', and I certainly expect this new single to propel their scintillating career at the #1 format in existence in terms of listenership to new heights, given their stature at the format.

Based on that clip, I think it's gonna be a great song! It doesn't seem like it's going to be as "non-country" as people expected after people learned about this crossing over to pop or the producers. But then again, it's just a short clip, so we shall see. Unfortunately I'm not gonna be able to listen to it until the 16th b/c vacation with no internet :'(

Oh, I know, my quote was pure sarcasm based on folks in various places saying stuff about songs having too many writers as a reason for the song being absolutely terrible.

Ha, I probably shouldn't have quoted you since I understood your "too many writers" joke. :) The writers themselves, along with the producers scream crossover expectations.

Right but lest we forget that Lady Antebellum's "Compass" was written by Norwegians and Swedes too.

Right but lest we forget that Lady Antebellum's "Compass" was written by Norwegians and Swedes too. This will be a crossover album and single though. "Compass" was a one off type of single off a repackaging of Lady A's Golden album. It's certainly something that we don't exactly know it will turn out in terms of how this song will be received on top 40 radio but their at least making an effort to do it. Everything they have done leading up to this single launch (producers/songwriters, iHeartMedia deal, cover art/imaging, interviews -- iHeartMedia Summit) leans crossover attempt and Scott Borchetta talked about this thing with his roster artists like TBP and even Thomas Rhett a couple years back. This was always in the plans.

Oh, of course they're angling to make TBP a crossover act. The cover art of the single suggested this. They're going to push the needle on most of their acts.

Eli Young Band has seen good results with that so far EYB isn't crossing over. And "Turn It On" was just not the right song and we'll see about "Honey, I'm Good" (which probably would've been better off being just covered by the band then be a duet).

Music Row has actually this going for adds on the 17th but I'll take R&R's word for it more than MR. With this song debuting on Friday, it will chart this coming week on MB and Billboard anyway.

I've checked this thread everyday for the past month hoping it would leak. I'm glad the wait is finally over and it premieres tomorrow morning. I'm kind of skeptical though. I loved their cover of "Gentle On My Mind", and I was hoping their new album would sound more like their first album era. I expect this to be an anthem song similar to "DONE.". I just hope it isn't a disappointment.

I'm really scared to hear this. I just hope that it's not pure pop but I'm nervous. I've seen way too many let down songs from artist I love (EYB, Gary Allan, Tim McGraw, Jake Owen, Keith Urban, Thompson Square and now ZBB) I really don't wanna start adding acts with females in them (who have more roles than Shauna did in Trans Am) I love the female singers. That's why I'm still nervous about Carrie Underwood's new song.
