Saw Jon Pardi last night and the show was awesome. This song got a huge reaction from the crowd although I guess that was to be expected. Anyways, he played a couple of new songs and they all sounded really good. I remember one of them was called "Night Shift". He had another that was my favorite and the hook was something about being in a room naked wearing a cowboy hat or something like that, can't remember the title. All the new stuff sounded very radio friendly (no slow songs) but all still had some twang and steel guitar. I'm very ready for this new album already.

Not sure about the lyrics but that's awfully catchy. And sounds country as heck.

I believe the tracklist was revealed already in the "Upcoming Albums" thread and "Cowboy Hat" and "Night Shift" are on the record. My favorite of the tracks I've heard so far is "She Ain't In It". Definitely looking forward to Jon's album. Wish I've seen him live already like you. :)

Really hope this goes Top 10. Would love to see Top 5 but that may be pushing it. The video came out just a month ago, so I'm hoping that will keep interest up. I understand that the labels want to wait before investing substantial money, but really have a hard time understanding why such a delay in the video giving how receptive people have been to the song.
That all said, the video was well worth the wait.

I'm calling it right now that Jon Pardi will have the best mainstream country album with the only possible challenges being Brandy Clark and David Nail. Regardless all three will be great but Jon Pardi has yet to disappoint me.

This new album sounds even more traditional than the last, which is unheard of these days.
"She Ain't in It" is pure George Strait country, pure Jon Pardi country, and pure damn good country.

Jon just sounds very comfortable singing all of his songs, and I can't say the same for some of his peers. His music just sounds very genuine to me, and "She Ain't In It" is the perfect example.

"Heartache on the Dance Floor" is on iTunes. It's probably the least-country song he's ever recorded, BUT that doesn't mean it's not a damn good country song. Can definitely hear a nice violin and some steel in it. I personally enjoy it a lot, not sure if others will though. Reminds me of something Thomas Rhett would do, but Pardi made sure it sounded country.

I've noticed the past few weeks that this has been close to the top 10 but not quite there. With a couple songs moving out this week does this look like it can make the top 10 on Billboard or will it get stuck at #11?

I doubt it will crack Billboard's top 10 tomorrow (will have to wait another week or two) but "Head Over Boots" is top 10 on Mediabase this week, at #10.

Jon is basically still a newbie and he only had one hit off his first album. This song is VERY traditional. With no real live performances, Jon managed a top-10 and a gold single. That's impressive. I cannot wait for his album and he is hands down my favorite artist right now.

My pick for next single is "Cowboy Hat". It's super radio friendly, catchy, and I think it would be amusing to listeners, make it stand out a bit. "Heartache On The Dance Floor" would be my second choice.

My very early impression is that the whole album is very radio-friendly. There's a lot of songs about having a good time, getting off work, heading to the bar, and dancing with women. "Dirt On My Boots", "Paycheck", "Heartache On The Dance Floor", "All Time High" and "Lucky Tonight" sound very similar. The instrumentation is fantastic though.
"Cowboy Hat" also struck me as the best choice for second single, but part of me wants them to take a chance and release "She Ain't In It".

Save "She Ain't In It" for third, but I say keep the good uptempo songs coming. Hate to say it, but I think they should take a page out of Frankie Ballard's playbook and release 3 uptempo safer choices to establish his momentum. I'm just afraid "She Ain't In It" might be too neo-traditional to make a dent on the charts. I definitely think its one of the best songs on the album though.

Up to #2 on country iTunes. The desire for traditional sounds from the purchasing public continue.
Obviously helped out by the album release.
I figure they'll let this one get top 10 on both charts, see how high they can get it on the HCS chart between airplay and the boost in sales and then move on.
Early thoughts from both sales and reviewers (internet and in person) would lead me to push for "Cowboy Hat" next.

I'm actually thinking top 5 is possible, as long as they're willing to push this for about another month. Next week it should move up to #9 on Billboard, and maybe even #8, as both Tim and Blake should drop beneath it (Blake is pretty close as it is and Tim is dropping really fast) and Kenny is struggling at the moment. Mr. Rhett should drop below it the next week as well and there's nothing close to passing this one right now, with it having almost a 6 million lead in audience over Chris Lane's "Fix". Maybe they'll be satisfied with those peak positions, but in another week or two after we should see Luke and Keith drop below, especially Keith since they're doing a major push this week. #1 will just take too long mostly because I expect multiple weeks at #1 for "H.O.L.Y." (at least 2, maybe 3).

I don't think Jon will pass Kenny on Billboard (at least, probably not this week anyway), but Tim and Blake will go recurrent (Jon will knock Tim out of the top 10 in audience, and Blake should fall below Chris Lane in spins) so yeah, that's a definite +2 for Jon on next week's Billboard chart. Kenny has increased by 750k on MB in the last 3 days, while Jon has gained just under 700k, so I think Kenny will stay ahead on Billboard by about 1 million, give or take a bit. But Jon could see a +3 move up to #8 on Billboard if he can pass Thomas Rhett this week already. Thomas is down about 3.4 million in the last 3 days, and so I've got him projected to land around 30.4 million on Monday's Billboard chart (although it's hard to project these things with only 3 days of data), whereas right now Jon is on a pace to gain about 1.2 million on Billboard, which would put him around 30.2 million on Monday's chart. So Jon will definitely move up to #9 on Monday's Billboard, and I think it's about 50-50 as to whether or not he'll pass Rhett for the #8 spot. Right now this is how I'm thinking the top 10 will shake out: 1) Keith Urban 2) Jason Aldean 3) Luke Bryan 4) Carrie Underwood 5) Florida Georgia Line 6) Eric Church 7) Kenny Chesney 8) Thomas Rhett or Jon Pardi 9) Thomas Rhett or Jon Pardi 10) Chris Lane

I thought for a few minutes that you were talking about "Vacation" already being in the top 10 to fight with Jon Pardi... I was almost flabbergasted! It seemed to me that "T-Shirt" should have been recurrent by now, so I forgot about it still being in the top 10 I am glad to see Jon has made it this far up the chart :) Top 5 would be great, #1 would be incredible, but either way the song could die right now and we could say it has been very successful for him!

I love this song! I'm so happy a song that could have been a hit in the 1980s Country dance halls is a top 10 on radio in 2016. Hopefully this will usher in even more tradition again. I streamed the album and it's very good! This is still my favorite song of his even after hearing all the other new ones.
