This was #1 today on the Country Aircheck daily email I got so I expect it to be #1 because Chris Lane had fell to #5 I believe. Also I suspect Dan & Shay are gunning for #1 the next week as the ad for "From The Ground Up" says max spins start this Sunday.

He deserves #1. Country song and country album in country music. Simple but not obvious!

The Bobby Bones Show: "Dirt On My Boots" So is this going to be the next single? Yes, we've already discussed it in this thread if you look back. The Highway confirmed it last weekend on their "Horizon" show.

Looking forward to this hitting #1. Very well deserved.
Dirt on My Boots is a great next single. So damn catchy and I think more able to move up the charts than Cowboy Hat, which is also a great tune but I see as a slow cooker.
This guy is great in concert. Crowd goes wild for him

"Head Over Boots" is officially Jon Pardi's first #1 single (taking Mediabase this afternoon). Jon started the Billboard week ahead of Sam by about 500k in total audience and "Head Over Boots" has out-gained "Make You Miss Me" by nearly 2.0 million in MB audience the past six days, tomorrow being the final update for Billboard's Airplay chart. Barring something ridiculous, Jon should take Billboard, too. :)

The two best #1 songs of the year ("Record Year" the other) sandwiching the shittiest #1 of the year ("Fix"). I can dig that, almost makes me forget the whole Chris Lane experiment.

A year-end #1 on Billboard seems like a good possibility as well for Jon since "Head Over Boots" has been on the chart every week this year so far.

This song went for adds on September 14th of 2015, lol. Took exactly 11 months. I vividly remember starting the thread the Friday before my Fall semester.

Not the biggest fan of this/his voice in general, but this is a pretty well-deserved #1 and I'm happy for him that he was able to get his first #1 hit. It's also nice seeing something this traditional-leaning hit the top, too. I'd like that pendulum to start swinging this direction a little more.

Also hearing him do Dirt on my Boots on Bobby Bones the other morning, I think it's a production thing. Because I'm with you on that. Turn the dang reverb/echo down and let the boy sing!

Idk, I've listened to the new album a couple times and haven't revisited it recently so I don't *really* remember it, but I didn't mind it overall and thought there were some better songs on it. I just find something off about his voice though for me personally. There's a quality to his voice that sounds, to me at least, like he has something lodged in his nose and it's just not particularly appealing to me. I like his style musically, but vocally he'll probably never be a favorite of mine. I'm glad he's making the neo-trad sound work on country radio in 2016, and I hope that opens the door for some others in a similar style, but vocally I much prefer the Mo Pitney and William Michael Morgan style of voice. For me, Dwight Yoakam has a pretty intolerable voice from the few songs I've heard of his, too, if that helps put into perspective the issue I have with Jon Pardi.

Can't believe it stayed on this long but thrilled to see this at #1. Well deserved. Always good when legitimate country songs like Record Year and this one have success.

This tweet by UMG Nashville confirms "Head Over Boots" is #1 on both Billboard and Mediabase this week.

Last time we had newbies back to back at #1 was earlier this year when Home Alone Tonight by Luke Bryan and Karen Fairchild (as a solo artist) was tops and they were replaced by Granger Smith's Backroad Song. Of course, Fairchild is a part of Little Big Town. If you discount that, you would have to go back to 2012 when Little Big Town collected their first #1 with Pontoon followed by Hunter Hayes' first in Wanted.

So glad Jon finally made it to number one! Proves that Traditional Country can still come out on top in this war against Pop Country.

This one lost 3 million in audience yesterday alone. It's descent reminds me a lot of "A Guy Walks Into A Bar", which dropped from #1 to #9 on Billboard I believe. I know it was an old song, but still, pretty annoying radio is just dropping this like a rock.

Holy sh!t. This lost 15 million in audience this week after hitting the top and falling 8 spots down to #9. It looks like radio was more than ready to give this song the drop. So it looks like Jon Pardi will definitely go recurrent with Brad Paisley this week on BB

Holy sh!t. This lost 15 million in audience this week after hitting the top and falling 8 spots down to #9. It looks like radio was more than ready to give this song the drop. So it looks like Jon Pardi will definitely go recurrent with Brad Paisley this week on BB Chris Lane and FGL will almost certainly go recurrent, too. Jon will drop below a bunch of songs so he'll be the first one to go recurrent, but it shouldn't be too hard for Kenny + P!nk, Tucker Beathard, William Michael Morgan, and maybe even Billy Currington, LoCash, and Luke Bryan to push ahead of Chris Lane in audience, thus knocking him out of the top 10 and into recurrent-land (only 2 of these artists need to pass Lane in audience). "H.O.L.Y." might stay top 10 in audience, but it's currently sitting at #10 in spins, so if FGL loses another 300-400 spins this week (and they almost certainly will lose more than that), they'll probably fall to #11 or lower in spins, and thus go recurrent as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Justin Moore and/or Drake White collapsed this week as well, although we'll have to give those guys a day or two to see whether or not they're gonna hang in there for a little while longer. "Castaway" probably won't climb much higher either, although I imagine that BMLG/Dot will try to secure a top 10 peak for ZBB before letting that one go. The housecleaning that we've been waiting for since pretty much April is finally here, and it's really going to benefit artists like Brett Young, Big & Rich (they probably won't last much longer though, but a top 20 Billboard peak seems a sure thing now so they'll probably hang in there for at least another week or two), Old Dominion, Maren Morris, Granger Smith, Brett Eldredge, Brothers Osborne, High Valley, Chris Stapleton, Chris Janson, Chris Young, Josh Abbott Band, Craig Campbell, Josh Turner, Trent Harmon, Eli Young Band, Keith Urban, Mickey Guyton, Runaway June, RaeLynn, Darius Rucker, etc.

It's absolutely asinine that in 1 week, radio collectively has decreased its audience by more than "Fix" in 2 weeks.
This is a song that is GOLD that will probably be PLATINUM within the next 5 years.
A song that has been in the top 50 of iTunes ALL GENRE.
A song from an artist that sold nearly FIVE times as many records as the artist whose song it fell below.
A song that just moved up to number TWO on streaming, passing the mega-hit "Die a Happy Man".
It's no wonder that while travel is UP, radio listernership is DOWN...disposable income is UP, album and single sales are DOWN...it's no wonder when you have clueless degenerates calling the shots at COUNTRY radio. Get your heads out of your collective ass and get a grip on reality.

This is a song that is GOLD that will probably be PLATINUM within the next 5 years. Next 5 years? Lol, try next 5 months (or even 5 weeks would be way more likely). With streaming factored in, "Head Over Boots" has already shifted more than 800,000 units. It'll be Platinum before the end of the year. I really don't think this one dropping so hard at radio is that big of a deal. It's been on the chart for a long time (longer than "Fix"), which means that the most loyal listeners (I'm talking people who listen to the radio for at least a few hours a day) are probably tired of it and have been tired of it for a long time now. "Fix" was just kind of 'there' for most people, meaning that radio probably wasn't in as big of a rush to drop that one. "Head Over Boots" was showing high fatigue ratings and a high burn-rate. This will allow Jon's next single to move up quicker, whereas Lane is going to have some issues. Radio has seen the numbers now -- they know that Jon is quite a bit more popular than Chris Lane is, which means that they'll probably give Jon's next single a solid chance, whereas Chris' next single might struggle, mostly because a lot of stations will probably keep "Fix" (a proven hit according to research) in somewhat regular rotation. "Head Over Boots" will still probably get a lot of airplay as well, but it'll just have a few harder drop weeks before it settles into a steadier rate of airplay.

I know "Dirt On My Boots" is Jon's next single but I decided to briefly bump this for the Billboard article from this past week, in regards to the promotion that went into "Head Over Boots."
A major part of the piece is Capitol Records VP of Promotion, Bobby Young.
The article also confirmed that "Dirt On My Boots" hits radio tomorrow, with the add date set for September 19th, as @nickv1025 mentioned in the "Dirt On My Boots" thread.
