Did it even hit the Top 20 yet? Gosh, this topic has been around for so long now I simply can't remember... It's like "will he get there this week?" "Won't he get there this week?" ... Any year now, if not Kip has climbed as high as #22 on Billboard so far, but he'll probably get pushed back a couple spots on tonight's chart -- FGL will move ahead, probably Sam Hunt and Canaan Smith too. And nobody from the top 20 seems to want to go recurrent, so... I'm thinking that MCA will try to push this for a top 20 peak and then let it go. The callout hasn't been that great for this song so I don't think it's likely to do much more than eke out a top 20 peak, if that. I'm still hoping that MCA will release "Girl Of The Summer" next but they might think it's too late for that. Anything from Kip will need 30+ weeks to peak (as evidenced by "Running For You" hitting the 30-week mark today, and not even being top 20 yet) and since Kip isn't an automatic add at radio, if "Girl For The Summer" went for adds in June it probably wouldn't peak until the end of winter, lol. Personally I don't think GOTS needs to peak in the summer, but it's possible that radio and the label see the word "summer" in the title and automatically feel like it has to peak during the late summer months. That's simply not possible here. Kip said he wants to release new music before the end of the year as well, and if the label grants his wish (I doubt UMG will, mostly because they have a lot of other artists on their release schedule), then there won't be any more singles from Wild Ones. And if it goes like I think -- with Kip not releasing a new album before the end of the year -- this could still very well be the last single from Wild Ones anyway. A super slow climb is what pretty much all new/newer country artists can look forward to. There are simply too many artists trying to get airplay, and it results in a slow climb for everybody (because radio does try to support most major-label artists) unless your name is Luke, Keith, Carrie, Kenny, Blake, Jason, etc.

Not yet...it's #21 on Mediabase this week, and was #22 on Billboard last week. I doubt it makes the top 20 when the Billboard chart comes out later tonight. It won't at least for anytime soon. I have Kip coming in at either #24 or #25 this week depending if Sam Hunt passes Kip as there are no recurrent songs Canaan Smith and FGL will pass Kip. I honestly think this song is nearing the end of the road. Yep, down to #25. I don't really see how this has a viable path to the top 20, but I guess we'll see.

It doesn't have a path at least not anytime soon to say the least, Canaan is back ahead Sam Hunt finally made the pass and I doubt Kip re passes either of them. It'd help Kip if some songs ahead go recurrent but outside of "Think Of You" nothing will go next week and that gets Kip what up to #24. Kip is right now probably 5th in line for the Top 20 behind Justin, Dan + Shay, Sam, and Canaan. It's really hard to find five songs in the Top 20 leaving soon enough Chris/Cassadee will and Dierks has two more weeks left after this. But I think Kip is soon going to have songs from Kelsea Ballerini, Brad Paisley & Demi Lovato (once the hangover is fully taken care of), Zac Brown Band and Cole Swindell soon closing in on him, just a hunch I have.

Dang guys.. well this is a real bummer. Guess we'll see what they decide to do next... ha
I do know he's really been writing (like usual) but it seems he's been recording here and there too. I haven't gotten to talk to him lately but I'm dying to know what's going on with all of that. Hoping I'll be able to next month!

Yikes. At this point (as much as I love him and this song) I say get it to the Top 20 and then pull the plug and put out "Girl Of The Summer"!!! He's hoping to have a new album out this winter so I doubt we'll see another single

Ultimately it comes down to the label and it'll hinge on how well his next lead single does, as we saw with how long it took for his sophomore record to come out.

I'm just all kinds of bummed out about how this album era is going for Kip. I'm not sure if MCA knew what to do with this album and they didn't help matters by leading off with "I'm to Blame." This is easily one of my most played albums right now and I'm still hoping to see "Girl Of The Summer" get a chance for a release.

I say this all the time (and will probably get yelled at for doing so again, lol) but his team never has known what they're doing when it comes to Kip,...and it drives me up a dang wall.
I really don't see him releasing another album this winter. I'll ask around though (very reliable sources) and see if anybody knows whats up.

Again, it's been documented here that he is working on new music and wants to release a new album soon, but it's still totally up in the air. Personally, I doubt we see a new album this year based on how long it takes his singles to work their way up the charts. He'd have to release a new lead single like right now to even have any hopes of having something high enough on the charts by the time the calendar year is over, and it doesn't appear the label is ready to move on from this single at the moment. Wild Ones didn't hit stores until close to 2 years after "Young Love" was released, which, at the time, was supposed to be the album's lead single.

Just talked to a pretty reliable source. She said that when she was in Vegas for the ACMs she got to talk to Kip a bit. He said he was HOPING for "a new album" to be out in October, with the lead single out in August. He "sounded so excited about it and said things were looking really good."

I am huge Kip Moore fan. Kip seems to me to be very authentic as an artist and person, never met him. I loved almost every song on Wild Ones, but was pretty bummed that there was no real radio success off Wild Ones, and it feels like Kip lost some well earned momentum. I loved "Complicated" and was hoping we would see that send to radio, but no chance now. I really hope Kip is not in danger of being dropped by his label, we all need more music from Kip ASAP!

Huge fan base and despite not huge radio success, he is going to be around for years. Edit: I'm a degenerate.

Like many artists on UMG Nashville, they're looking at building careers, not just a few hits and out. Kip is very much that type of artist (so are David Nail, Eric Paslay and of course Eric Church).

He said in an interview that his fanbase has doubled, maybe tripled with the overseas tour, and having been at one of his headlinig concerts last winter, I see that everyone there is singing every word, even to the album tracks. Also saw this online, he performed a new song "Bittersweet Company" acoustically on a radio show. Sounds like another gem. fb.me/2JtO3hLmG song starts at about 20:10

Like he's said time and time again, he has a very "underground" fan base. I've been following him for 5 years now and I have seen it with my own eyes. Idk how, but him and the guys have built something CRAZY when it comes to the live shows. They sell out within minutes. The fans are HARDcore. They camp out for hours and hours, they know every word to every song. I know, everyone has fans who do that... But I'm telling you, I've been to hundreds of country concerts and not many compare to the interaction and crowd response as Kip's shows. I'm not talking about just the people in the front by the stage, I'm talking about everyone in the entire venue..
He's not going anywhere record label wise. This discussion has been brought up before. And if he ever did... between him, Westin Davis, and Brett James, I don't see him not having a deal for long...

One of my favorites. "Dirt Road" killed a lot of momentum.

I think "Running For You" is about done. Kip lost 40 spins, and 300K in audience today. Kip will keep his bullet this week, but this song is on life support at this point and I think given the poor research and mediocre sales, the label is better off dropping this and either A). Release "Girl Of The Summer" the only possible smash left on the album or B). Go on to the lead single off the third album. I just see no point in continuing promoting "Running For You" when it's not moving the needle all that much.

"Running For You" should be top 20 on Mediabase this week with "Snapback" and "Mind Reader" going recurrent this afternoon.

Hopefully with "Running For You" getting the Mediabase Top 20, the label will give up in the coming weeks. With Kip wanting to release new music probably really soon, I think the end is definitely near for this one.
Kip will probably not reach the Billboard Top 20 as Kelsea Ballerini looks to restrict Kip to a +1 movement.

This week on BB Dierks will go, but I imagine Zac Brown Band and possibly Brad Paisley will pass. I also think Blake Shelton's new one will pass Kip in two weeks time when there would be two recurrents the following week (Thomas, Blake) but the way I see it Kip is probably fourth in line for the Top 20 and I don't see him reaching it for at least a couple of weeks yet.

With the way my local station (and their a major market station) has been playing William Michael and Jennifer Nettles new songs, I think they may pass him too. Such a shame for a great songwriterand a great album. I hope they go for a third single.

Releasing I'm To Blame instead of Girl of the Summer was such a stupid move. I'm ready for new stuff. This is an incredible song but I'm glad it got as high as it did.
