Nice. Definitely more of a return to form for Jake stylistically, which will hopefully bring him back to the top 10 (if not higher).

Wow, what a great video. I love all the scenery and both the cinematography and editing are fantastic.
I think this song is going to be a really big hit this summer.

This song is getting better for me as time goes by. For some strange reason, I'm not "noticing" those talking lyrics in the verses quite as much as when the song was first released. This one is definitely meant for the spring and summer months and I see this having a moderate/steady climb to #1 for Jake when it's said and done.

Decent video for sure. I still don't like the song as much as "Real Life", but it's really grown on me over the last few weeks.

This one grows on me every time I hear it. Like sabre14 mentioned, I too am not noticing the talking parts. It just flows. Love the video too...it has a fresh and airy summer feel.

This song does nothing for me, but I'm very happy to see him get his momentum back. Pumped for the new album in late July.

Verse is horrendous, but the chorus is really great. Like "Alone With You" great, which is my favorite Jake Owen song.
But the verse really brings this one down for me.

"Good Company" is already out on iTunes now but tonight we get "If He Ain't Gonna Love You", which is a collaboration with Chris Stapleton.

It's a really good song, but the direction and production is a lot different for Jake. After hearing this one and "Good Company", I'm kind of curious if the rest of the album is going to be as adventurous.

"American Love" is available for download. It's very Sam Hunt like. Definitely hear the Sublime influence again. I actually love it.

Jake Owen talked with Rolling Stone about his musical career, his upcoming album and the failure of "Real Life." This portion is the most interesting to me.

You can listen to a 90 second preview of each song on American Love on iTunes. I gotta say, I feel pretty let down. This album is really going to need to grow on me. After hearing "American Country Love Song", I thought the album was going to be similar to Barefoot Bluejean Night Jake Owen. I was wrong. A good chunk of the songs sound like 90s stoner rock beach jams. It's very Sublime/Sugar Ray esk. Don't get me wrong that's good music and good music is good music but this is country music we're talking about here. Genres are getting blurred and going on about that is just beating a dead horse. So basically the album is like a less polarizing version of Real Life. When I saw "American Country Love Song" was the last song, I knew something was up because the lead single isn't usually the album closer. It's the last song because none of the other songs sound like it. I'm going to end this post on a good note. Not all the songs are of the stoner rock variety. There are some country gems on here. "LAX" is wonderful. Beautiful song with lots of steel guitar. "When You Love Someone" is a piano ballad similar to "What We Ain't Got". If you go back to the first page of this thread, there's a video of him singing a song live and it's "When You Love Someone". This is one of the few times the live sounds like the studio :) . For what it's worth: found this video of Jake singing at the Kiss 99.9 Chili Cook-Off, never heard the song before. The lyrics are talking about loving someone, so this is probably "American Country Love Song". I like it.

Praying for "LAX" on my radio at some point. Talk about real country music.

"Everybody Dies Young" was the leading candidate to follow up "Real Life" last year, I remember Jake talking it up big time saying he though it could be a huge song for him. I'd bet on that being single #2 unless they get swayed by the digital success of "If He Ain't Gonna Love You".

Initially I wasn't expecting much of the album, but the previews don't sound too bad. At least Jake is being authentic to himself and not trying to chase any trends. I have a lot of respect for him in that regard. Instead of going out and putting out blandness like everyone else.
Some of the songs are really not my type, and it actually feels like "Real Life" wouldn't have been too far out of left field for this album. Why not tack it on as track #12? It sonically sounds like it belongs on this album. But it also doesn't sound too 90's Sublime-y as originally discussed.
As others have stated, "LAX" sounds awesome. Love all that steel. *Sidenote, in that interview they asked Jake if he would do a classic country covers album. His voice blends really well with all that steel* "Everybody Dies Young" sounds good, as does "You Ain't Going Nowhere"
I'll give it a full listen tomorrow, but so far I am impressed.
