I'm a little bummed that Black River played nice with this one because it was looking like it wouldn't have been too hard for "Peter Pan" to block this one at the top and spend at least 2 weeks there. This isn't a half bad song and clearly better than "Real Life," so I'm at least glad that this one succeeded where that one failed. But I hope that Kelsea can get a 2-week #1 out of "Peter Pan" yet, because that would be pretty awesome and a rarity for females. There's still a sizable gap back to Dierks Bentley, too. I think if Black River wasn't going to release "Yeah Boy" next, and if this was instead the last single, there might be more incentive to push for multiple weeks at the top. But I think instead Dierks might be the one to get multiple weeks here. Also, wouldn't surprise me if Justin Moore got a serious push for #1 the week after "Peter Pan" hits #1.

Pretty cool to see Jake is back at #1 with "American Country Love Song" for this weekend. Reason why I say it's cool is because if you look at this very day back in 2011 as if you recall, September 4th fell on a Sunday also 5 years ago and guess who was #1 on Mediabase?? It was Jake Owen with his very first #1 hit and that was "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" so he ruled the September 4, 2011 Country chart and now he does it again the same weekend 5 years later. Only difference is that this will only be a 1 week at #1 scenario whereas "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" stayed another week at #1 back in Sept 2011. I expect Kelsea to take over next weekend with "Peter Pan".

It seems like a lot of the songs that peak at #2 on BB get the MB #1.

I'm surprised that this song has dropped so hard. 1-3-14 (and 15 before Sam Hunt (who hit #1 before Jake) was removed) on Mediabase is a pretty steep drop for what felt like a decent sized hit. It's not like he has a new single absorbing some of those lost spins either.

I do think that "Make You Miss Me" is a better song than it has gotten credit for. I think there was some bad perception because for one thing, it's Sam Hunt, and some people will automatically not like it, and the kind of weird thing that happened between it and "Raised On It" when it was first released. I think its chart run proved that it was the right single choice, and I hope that will be confirmed by recurrent airplay. And this being the thread for ACLS, I hope it continues to get a lot of recurrent play as well!
