The next project is clearly underway with her having several songs on hold. Doesn't mean she's recording anything but she definitely has started on the next era as far as picking out potential songs etc. Care to share a source for Carrie having put new songs on hold?

Carrie has said before that even when they aren't working on a new album, that they are always receiving demos and listening to them. So I wouldn't see Carrie putting songs on hold as an indication for her actively working on a new album.

Yes but I wouldn't consider the new project being "underway". To her fans' knowledge, Carrie has never worked on an album (other than putting songs on hold) while still actively promoting another album, and I wouldn't expect her to be doing that now. I'd love to be wrong.

I'm fully expecting "Dirty Laundry" to be the fourth and final single, so I'm not surprised to hear that her team is already reviewing demos.

I'll be bummed if "Dirty Laundry" is the final single from the Storyteller project and they don't go for a fifth single... but only if she isn't working on a new album. If album #6 comes out next year, then I'm fine with her stopping, but I just hope there isn't another big gap between albums.

"Dirty Laundry" would take her through the Fall, but then what? She'll be done with the tour, so in that sense the era will be over. Do they take the opportunity to let "The Fighter" be Carrie's only song out? Will it be like a "Remind Me" situation? Who knows? I guess if they want to build up thirst for the next project, they may want to stop at four singles... However, I doubt Carrie would be remotely close to having a new album ready late next year so there would likely be time for "Storyteller" if they wanted to service a fifth single to radio.
