I am starting this thread early to be able to bring you all the following Pulse Service Announcement^TM - a reminder that these rules are, um, things: :)

1. Stay on topic. -- try to keep all conversation relevant to the original topic at hand. If it's a topic about a specific single, keep the discussion related to that song. Same with topics about specific albums, artists, movies, etc. Some progression of the discussion away from the original intent is okay if the discussion is a quality one that grew naturally out of the conversation, but ideally discussion will come back to the original topic within a reasonable time.
Some examples of unnecessarily going off topic include:

• Ranking songs in the middle of singles topics is not allowed and must be relocated to specific Rank the Songs topics. Failure to do so may result in the topic being locked.
  
• Bringing other artists into a discussion, especially for the purposes of bashing or baiting. This will result in a warning.
  

6. No nonsense posts. -- Please post only if you have something to contribute. If a post contains nothing relevant to the discussion, consists only of a previously-quoted message or strays the discussion off-topic, it may be removed to ensure continuity for the topic's discussion. Persistent violations of this may result in a warning.
Please note that there is a "+1" or thumbs up option now for every post so if you want to agree with a post or like it, you can click that instead.

The 4/16 Hot 100 thread is/was a flaming disaster because way, way too many posts in there have contributed nothing of value to the thread itself. If you wish to have side conversations with each other that may spawn out of things posted in the thread, but do not necessarily contribute to the thread itself, that's what PMs are for. Don't take up thread space with them.

We've had to consider issuing warnings because the nonsense-posting has become this bad. Continued nonsense-posting beyond this point will risk future warnings being issued. So...yeah, don't do it.

Who wants to come to a FORUM anymore if there's NO FUN AT ALL? If you just want DRY BORING FACTS then everyone can just go to Billboard.com instead of hanging out here.

It's NOT like anyone has INSULTED anyone or there's a fight or something. Today if there're so many rules imposed on pulse music board, then the next thing you know machines are completely dominant and it's gonna be way too boring and awful

This is the best chart yet. Hopefully "I thought you'd be nicer from your name~" is the next #1. It had a pretty strong debut, which is great given that "NO FUN AT ALL" had such strong initial streaming numbers. It really tanked in those past few days, though. I guess that controversial video just didn't help out much. I can't wait to hear "cowboy having duels." I wonder if it will cater to its name and have strong country undertones.

A suggestion, rather than flood the thread with a bunch of posts complaining about the rules (also against the rules btw ) to take your rants to pm and complain to staff (as they are setting the rules and they can help explain them to you), rather than destroy yet another thread

Seriously, I just read through and don't know what was so terrible in the 4/16 thread. So what if people were making up stories based on songs in the top ten. Of the potential 4/16 chart. It's not like it was wildly off-topic and someone came in to talk about Gaga's new album or whatever. Were there complaints about it? I'm more concerned about the chilling effect of what was posted in this week's OP than what was posted in the 4/16 thread.

Anyhow, are there any stats at this point to talk about the 4/23 chart?

... anyway. I'm really hoping that WFH has a shot at the top 5 this week and DW can return the top 10. I feel that with 7 Year's recent gains on CHR and holding on iTunes, this very well may be the week that 7 Years makes it to #1. I hope NO quickly overtakes it, though, and then something overtaking that. Bar Love Yourself, I'm happy with how refreshing the top 10 has been lately. A lot more movement!

8 weeks at #1 for Work seems very likely. A 9th is still up in the air but not out of reach.

Really just depends on how much 7 Years can make up in the streaming gap with regards to its sales, and closing the airplay gap.

I looked it up and they'd be the first. Only one Danish act had gone as high as #2 before with a song called Apache in 1960. Only four Danish acts have hit the top ten counting Lukas. Aqua did it last in 1997 with Barbie Girl.

Well we also have to remember that this past week was 7 Years'album release week when its streams and sales are obviously at its max. The bridging of the gap will be smaller this coming week than this past week.

Work is at #15 On Itunes while 7 years is at #1. If 7 years can catch up in streaming it will pass work, But Meaghan Trainor's single is ringing though. Should Be interesting next week.

Also hoping Cheap Thrills can keep moving up. That was a fairly large jump (well, larger than I would have expected), I wonder if it was fueled by something or just running its course?

Yeah, I considered the new songs and other version, but it still surprized me how I missed that fall since the last place I remember seeing the song at was like #4. Shows how you can completely miss something if you aren't paying attention directly to it, even if you're taking note of everything around it.
