To be honest, I just think the problem is the material. She needs singles that are actually catchy. Really catchy and well produced. Because these two singles from "Glory" are just decent songs. Not her worst singles ever or anything, but far from Britney's best. I agree. What she needs is a "return to roots" song, like a total rehash of BOMT or HIAM. What she doesn't need is an experiment of a new sound without promo behind it. Won't stick. If they refuse to promote, then she needs something immediately familiar. Aka she needs to bring back the producers that helped make her biggest hits (Max Martin, Danja, Bloodshy and Avant)

Britney is at her best when she branches out and collabs with new people. It's part of the reason she's lasted so long. ITZ was her first album w/o Max Martin and it gave her three worldwide hits (including Toxic). Blackout was yet another case of her branching out and working with someone different (Danja) and that album is considered by many to be her magnum opus.
The singles aren't what people expect but they could have been bigger hits had the promotion been executed properly. The main issue is her team. The good things about this era (ie. the original MM video, the SP video, the magazine photoshoots, the album itself, etc.) happened when her team stepped aside and let professionals handle things. While the bad things (the 2nd MM video, the lackluster performances, the timing of the promotions, etc.) occurred when her team interfered or took the reigns.
Her team has gotten into some bad habits and they don't learn their lesson until they push their luck too far and receive major backlash. The MM video fiasco is a prime example of this. What happened with the MM video had already happened with the Perfume video except this time they didn't get away with it and it was something that they never fully recovered from.
Their attempt to bounce back with SP was also a case of bad habits dying hard. The gap between SP and MM was way too long. But this isn't the first time that happened. Her team loves to use collabs with artists of-the-moment in a lazy attempt to get a quick hit. The problem is that this has caused repeated push backs and delays. This happened with PG, this happened with MM, and this is likely what caused the delay with SP.
Britney isn't perfect, RCA is definitely not perfect, but her team is just the pits.

I'd hope that once the month is over and the thawing process has finished this will continue to be a slow burn ascent at the very least. I just think it's a little premature to write this off just yet when radio still hasn't completely balanced out from the end of 2016. And could we dial it back on the complaining please? This thread is a drain to read, I'm like 'you've made your point. Move on.'

Agree with most, Glory is a great album top 5 for me. The singles are not as catchy or what the GP want from her, GP wants the massive productions/ catchy pop songs. MM would've been a hit had it been promoted correctly or a perfect 4th single a la Criminal. Criminal played on my shuffle yesterday and even that song is much catchier. I even think it peaked top 20 not bad for 4th singles.
One more single maybe Private Show then get back in the studio with Max Martin / Diplo/ EDM producers to experiment with.

If I'm Dancing is her only chance of a hit. It has insane meme potential and is also bizarre enough to stand out without being too out there and hookless.

Nothing is going to sell the album at this point or crash the Hot 100 top 40, but I think she could make such a visual statement with "If I'm Dancing" that could go viral, keep her image out there. It's uptempo, "cool and fun", but still kinda bizarre/left of center (i.e. perfect for her 2017).
I'm glad to see "Slumber Party" is at least coasting for now.

She won Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Pop Artist, Favorite Comedic Collaboration (?) for her Ellen DeGeneres Mall Video and Favorite Social Media Celebrity.
... I think the biggest thing about the PCAs is the visibility, which she wasted by not being there.
