I posted the Billboard year-end rankings a few days ago. Here are the Mediabase numbers.
The Mediabase year-end rankings are, always, a little trickier to calculate than the Billboard rankings. Based on the date ranges for every year this decade, so far, the Mediabase chart year begins with the published chart from the fourth Sunday of November and ends with the published chart from the third Sunday of the following November. As such, the 2016 chart year began with the November 22, 2015 chart and ended with theNovember 20, 2016 November 13, 2016 chart. Yes, that's a 53 week year. The last 53 week year was 2010. 53 week years are cycled in every 5 or 6 years, so it looks like we're due. As always, I'll make adjustments if I've got the cut-off date wrong. The rankings have been adjusted to reflect the correct cut-off date.
Mediabase counts ALL spins, including recurrent play. They only have one rule of which I'm aware: a track needs to have spent, at least, one week as a "current", during the chart year, to be eligible for inclusion in the year-end rankings. Year-long recurrents don't make the cut, though I have shown where they would've ranked within the top 100 if they counted. Artist spin-weighting is, similar, to the methodology I used for the Billboard rankings.
I don't have access to all spins, just the top 50 currents and recurrents from All Access, so these numbers can't, and won't, be exact. From my experience, these numbers are "good enough" and these rankings should be, fairly, close to Mediabase's, official, year-end rankings. The year-end PDF, usually, goes online around the second week of December. Keep an eye out for it, here:

Are you surprised by the number one song? For the better part of the year, "Love Yourself" had a commanding lead on the top songs list. It wasn't until th first week of November, that "Stressed Out" managed to edge ahead and take the crown by a couple thousand spins. Recurrent play can make the difference. Bieber shouldn't be disappointed, though. He lands two songs in the top 3, something that hasn't happened since 2009 when Lady Gaga did it with "Just Dance" and "Poker Face".

I don't have access to all spins, just the top 50 currents and recurrents from All Access, so these numbers can't, and won't, be exact. From my experience, these numbers are "good enough" and these rankings should be, fairly, close to Mediabase's, official, year-end rankings. Are you surprised by the number one song? For the better part of the year, "Love Yourself" had a commanding lead on the top songs list. It wasn't until th first week of November, that "Stressed Out" managed to edge ahead and take the crown by a couple thousand spins. Recurrent play can make the difference. Bieber shouldn't be disappointed, though. He lands two songs in the top 3, something that hasn't happened since 2009 when Lady Gaga did it with "Just Dance" and "Poker Face".
As anticipated, Justin Bieber claims the top artist honors by a very hefty margin.
