Wow. She basically had no tankers. Only one rank below 65.

Carolyn Dawn Johnson's debut album slays so hard! I love every song on it. It is perfect from cover to cover. And I love them almost equally, so it is always difficult for me to decide which to rank higher when they end up in a rankdown up against each other, as with this year. "I Don't Want You To Go" is such an infectious, fun song, and I am thrilled it made it as far as it did! CDJ is very consistently underrated, so this is a very nice surprise!

Wow, everyone except 4 people had this either inside or just outside of the top 40. That is way more consistency than I was expecting!!
"Where Would You Be" is one of the most incredible vocal performances any female country star has ever delivered. Many of Martina's peers could actually sing higher than her in their various primes, but her ability to settle in at the top of her vocal range and stay there comfortably without wearing out was what truly set Martina apart from her peers. That is on full display in WWYB, and that is why she is the perfect person to sing that song. This would have been a really easy song to ruin if it was sung by somebody whose timbre gets brassy or nasally when they push themselves, but she is able to deliver a song like this without once sounding unnatural or forced. Very sad to see this miss the top 10, but I am also very happy it got as much support as it did!

I love all three of the latest cut. Two of the best by Keith and Martina. CDJ's first album is one of those where I love nearly every song ("I'll Think of You That Way" is still my favorite).

I think #12 is the highest SHeDAISY has ever done in a year end rankdown, no? Yes it is. The previous high was #16 for "Passenger Seat" in the 2004 rankdown.

That's disappointing. I really thought that "Landslide" would compete for #1.

You don't want notifications anymore? You can do that by unchecking the tag box when you go under the notifications tab in your "edit profile" option. Do you just want notifications turned off for this thread?

He's talking about how Proboards is now sending us notifications every time somebody posts in a thread that we have bookmarked, which has got to be the stupidest administrative decision Proboards has ever made So it's not just specific to this thread.

Oh geez. Well, I can only send suggestions but unfortunately, that's not up to us on staff here at Pulse. I personally don't use the bookmark option but I can see how that would be a headache if you do.

I'm very happy with this top 10. Although it only has one song in common with my top 10, I actively enjoy all of the remaining songs.
I never would have guessed "The Cowboy in Me" or "I Don't Have to Be Me 'Til Monday" would still be alive at this point.

Dixie Chicks did "Landslide" better than the original. Dixie Chicks did an okay version of "Landslide" but it comes nowhere even close to touching the original. Stevie Nicks voice on this song is incredible. One of the greatest songs and performances ever, Dixie Chicks are not even close. and lame at people ranking "Where Would You Be" in their 100's. That song is incredible, but whatever, glad it made the Top 15. So annoying that Martina never has a chance at #1 with anything other than "Independence Day" (and even that hasn't won a non-Martina RD, I think).

As I mentioned in the SHeDAISY rankdown I've warmed up a bit to "Mine All Mine" and would likely rank it higher today, but I still remain somewhat surprised it made it this far and beat out some of the bigger hits of the year. Speaking of surprises I wasn't at all expecting to see "Red Ragtop" in the top 10 and I'm not really sure what to make of that...alas here are my predictions of how I think it might play out:
10. Tim McGraw – “Red Ragtop” 9. Dixie Chicks – “Long Time Gone” 8. Tim McGraw – “The Cowboy In Me” 7. Rascal Flatts – “These Days” 6. Sara Evans – “I Keep Looking” 5. George Strait – “Living And Living Well” 4. Jo Dee Messina – “Bring On The Rain” 3. Steve Azar – “I Don’t Have To Be Me (‘Til Monday)” 2. Sara Evans – “Saints & Angels” 1. George Strait – “Run” (by default I have to put this here!)

“Landslide” missing the top 10 is a bummer, I love the Dixie Chicks’ rendition of it. The original is amazing as well.
