What is the record for most #2 peaking singles from a single album? I doubt "Lover" or any of the other future singles will go #2, just wondering. THREE may be the most from a single album. Blood, Sweat & Tears' 1968 self-titled album produced three #2 hits in 1969 ("You've Made Me So Very Happy", "Spinning Wheel", "And When I Die").

What is the record for most #2 peaking singles from a single album? I believe this is an original question. Any answers? EDIT - Thanx, prenatt

I think Lover will peak really high this next week + VMAs performance boost and I think it'll be a slow burner on radio like Delicate was and peak on radio sometime around November/December. It'll be the "Perfect" of this year I'm guessing.

#1 - Lover (2.639) #2 - The Man (2.406) #3 - Cruel Summer (2.278) #4 - I Forgot You Existed (2.247) #5 - Ransom (2.112) #6 - I Think He Knows (1.743) #7 - Paper Rings (1.719) #8 - Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince (1.696) #9 - Cornelia Street (1.554) #10 - London Boy (1.523)
It’s happening, folks. Every song on the album is over 1 Million first day Spotify. I’m scared.

I really wonder why they didn't make "Lover" the lead single?
Or maybe they knew it was the best single and wanted to release it right before the album?

I think Taylor is getting a lot more publicity by finally getting political on YNTCD and The Man, not saying that's intentional on her part though

So the Man and Cruel Summer should at least reach top 20 too. ME! will also get pulled into top 50 again.

I don't think so, "Bloodline" by Ariana did a little better on streaming and sales on the first day (and held up pretty well through the rest of the week) than both of those songs and it debuted at #22. If the man holds up really really well and goes up in apple music it might be top 20.

The performance on Apple Music is better than I thought tbh, it's so urban driven - IIRC even the biggest pop hits such as Bad Guy and Senorita have struggled on AM, let alone Shallow and others.

Cause she dropped pretty hard there too today The average drop for tracks on the album was 30%. Would hardly call that hard, but no. Spotify is pretty urban/rhythmic leaning as everyone well knows. You don't see too many straight up pop songs filling the top 20 consistently.

Maybe someone has asked this already, but did Taylor remove the "Hey kids! Spelling is fun!" bit from "ME!", or was it video-exclusive? I was pretty sure it was in the actual song before but I heard the whole album on Spotify and that bit wasn't in it.

Sure, Spotify is a little urban leaning but pop artists do MUCH better there compared to Apple. For a pop album, 2nd day drops on Spotify aren’t usually that big. Drops for other pop albums on Spotify: Lover - 32% thank u next - 21% No. 6 Collabs - 19% Billie - 15%

Yea that was shortlived... she’s collapsing kind of hard on AM already My worry was always that Taylor wasn't gonna do Spotify/Apple Music US well long enough to have a great streaming debut week. Songs will always fall following the release of an album, we know that, but if you can hold on for a couple of days before that happens, that'd be great. Young Thug's album held on strong for almost the entire tracking week on Apple Music. So did Drake. So did Ariana Grande. I know it's an unfair comparison considering the fact that this is her first album being released on streaming platforms at the same time as digital/physical platforms, but Taylor CHOSE to do that in order to boost her first week sales, knowing fully well that pure/physical sales were quickly dying out. She had the chance to embrace streaming early and she didn't. As excited as I am for Taylor's first week numbers, I'm not the least bit excited to see how hard she'll drop in her second week. I'll be surprised if she moves up to 200K SPS units in her second week.

It was widely reported that it got removed for the album-version.

We are also stacking Taylor, who is past her prime (1989) with artists who are at the current height of their career (aside from Ed who is maybe just starting to decline and was aided by a slew of hot features). Naturally their drops will be softer. There are several factors at play here.

The 3 comparable pop albums you mentioned have fewer tracks: TUN: 12; No. 6: 15; and WWAFA: 14. "Lover" has 50% more tracks than TUN, 33% more than No. 6 and 43% more than WWAFA.

'NO HALO' by BROCKHAMPTON had really impressive Spotify numbers on Friday (#36, 675k streams)! Unfortunately the song can't do that well on Apple Music where it's not in the top 100. It's unlikely but I'd love to see the boys getting their first Billboard Hot 100 entry. 'GINGER' is their most successful era to date but maybe it's not the time yet.

The 700K figure applies to THIS week not 700k/week
Week 2 is an entirely different matter
