madonna fans make me lol. What are you trying to imply? "Madonna fans make me laugh out loud". as for her, if they send her to the dance categories, a win is pretty much a lock. they might want to take a risk and send one of the singles to pop, where she could possibly get a nomination but no chance in hell at winning.

My early predictions:
Album of the Year- Dixie Chicks Christina Aguilera Mary J. Blige ? ?
Song of the Year- Not Ready to Make Nice - Dixie Chicks Jesus Take the Wheel - Carrie Underwood
Pop Album of the Year- Shakira - Oral Fixation 2 Madonna - COADF (if they don't send it to Pop)
New Artist- KT James Blunt

Carrie Underwood should sweep a bunch in the country categories. Pink should at least be nominated for best pop album and vocals. Dixie Chicks should get nominated (politics aside) for their excellent album.

my guesses Mariah - "Fly Like a Bird" - rekkid of the year dixie chicks - rekkid/song/album, & Pop album/song is a guaranteed grammy since they won't enter themelves in the country category. madonna will get a dance/mix category beyonkaka won't get anything christina will yoodle her way during a performance mary to bitchslap someone, & then thank mariah for saving her from the hood

Actually Mary J. Blige is the clear forerunner for most nominations this time around, I believe.

her cd really is not that great .. apart from a few good songs, the rest are fillers .. just wait and see, she won't get another radio hit from this album in the US

When was "Jesus, Take The Wheel" released? Is it grammy eligible?
Nick Lachey should atleast get nominated "Best Male Pop Vocal."
And Fort Minor feat. Holly Brook, best hip hop duo or collab?

Carrie will beat both of them hopefully. Daniel doesn't really have a chance but he will be nominated. James has the best chance to beat Carrie.

I agree. MJB has lost a lot of momentum. I expect some R&B noms, but no major noms, unless they promote "One".
I think Where'd You Go might get nominated in pop collaboration since the more poppish rap collaborations sometimes get nominated there.
It'd be intresting if Carrie could get nominated for best new artist since none of the idols have ever gotten nominated, but I can see it happening.
Has 98* ever gotten nominated for anything besides TGIFY? Jessica should have gotten some noms the year she became really famous and Ashlee probably would have gotten some if hadnt been for SNL. With that in mind, I think Nick should get one, but Im not sure if he's going to get it.

I'll go out on a limb and say that James Blunt will get a nom in all 4 of the major categories (Album, Song, Record, BNA). Anyway...predictions for the time being...
Best New Artist
- James Blunt - K.T. Tunstall - Daniel Powter - The Fray - Panic! At The Disco
James Blunt and K.T. Tunstall are in for sure. Daniel Powter will probably make the cut as well, and depending on the success of "How To Save A Life" (the single, not the album), I wouldn't be shocked to see The Fray sneak in. A few months ago, I might have said Ne-Yo, but not anymore, after "When You're Mad" didn't carry the momentum. So I'll throw - unfortunately - Panic! At The Disco in for the fifth nom.
Record of the Year
- "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt - "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter - "Hips Don't Lie" by Shakira / Wyclef Jean - "Black Horse and the F&$*ing Damn Cherry Tree" by K.T. Tunstall - "SOS" by Rihanna / "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley
This is going to be interesting. Blunt and Tunstall have had mad critical acclaim, Powter came out of nowhere to blow up, and the Rihanna and Shakira records were huge smashes that spanned huge audiences, not just pop fans. I think that "Crazy" is also going to be huge this summer, and it's a solid track, so I put it in as an alternative for "SOS". I thought about "Dani California", but after the "Mary Jane's Last Dance" bull, I don't see it getting recognized individually.
Album of the Year
- Back To Bedlam by James Blunt - Stadium Arcadium by Red Hot Chili Peppers - The Breakthrough by Mary J. Blige no idea after that. I'll throw possibilities out... Rascal Flatts / KT Tunstall / Beyonce
Blunt and RHCP are guarantees. Mary J. had a smash with "Be Without You" and this was regarded as something of a comeback for her. As for the others... who knows, haha
Song of the Year - "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt - "Talk" by Coldplay - "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield - "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter - Some random-ass song we've never heard of. There's always one in this category.

Song of the Year always seems to have a country song in it. What Hurts the Most by Rascal Flatts, maybe?

I would be overjoyed if KT got a grammy. And I'm hoping the Dixie Chicks get the big prize. That would be the ultimate FUCK YOU. :)

If "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" actually managed to pull Record of the Year, I'd be pleasantly shocked. She has the acclaim and now the rising popularity to do it though.
Also, with Blunt fading fast this far ahead of Grammy time, I think Tunstall is going to be the frontrunner for BNA as well.

Beyonce - Deja Vu nominated for record of the year and best r&b record, and B-Day for best r&b album

It's looking increasingly likely that, given "Black Horse & The Cherry Tree" has become a much bigger smash than I ever expected, it might not only easily win the Best Pop Vocal Grammy, but she could very well take Record Of The Year as well (even though she'll likely have a huge battle with Daniel Powter, James Blunt or possibly the Dixie Chicks.)
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

lol i'd think it'd be hilarious if KT won and thanked Katharine McPhee...I mean, it's a great song, but I don't think it was getting that much attention or airplay and didn't become a big hit until it was exposed to that huge American Idol audience, heh
