Just make one prediction for the 2007 Grammys, just as a fun tarot kind of exercise.
*
Mine: KT Tunstall will make Grammy attention in 2007, losing the Best New Artist Grammy to a yet-to-be-seen R&B competitor, but will win a Best Pop Vocal Grammy for "Black Horse & The Cherry Tree".
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I hope Christina Aguilera and Janet Jackson can get Best Female Pop Vocal and/or Best Pop Album noms! (LOL, and I've not heard a single song from either of them yet!)

I'm hoping Clay Aiken is nominated for both male pop vocal performance and pop vocal album!! (And I haven't heard anything new from him either! ) And that Natasha Bedingfield is nominated for female pop vocal! And Ne-Yo might take Best New Artist. LOL i'm greedy & making all these predictions...

Britney= Record Of The Year Chris Brown= Male R&B Madge= Dance Song and Album Jennifer Lopez= Best Latin Pop Album Are you being serious? I seriously doubt Britney Spears will ever win another Grammy award and Jennifer Lopez and especially Chris Brown will never win grammys. I think a lot of you get the Billboard awards confused with the Grammys and think that just cause a singer has performed well on the charts and/or radio that they've been given a key pass towards winning a slew of grammys. Anyway, I think Mary J. Blige will win 2 maybe 3 grammys and Christina Aguilera Aguilera will deffinitely win a few as she has the best voice out there and her upcoming album sounds very interesting. I don't think that Jamie Foxx's album is anything special but he may end up winning one grammy. I'm interested to see how good Fantasia's sophmore album will be and I think its only a matter of time before she wins a few grammys. Should Alicia Keys release her new album by September 30, or even her first single from a new album, then she'll prolly win one or two grammys.

Britney has won once before and she will once again. At best, she has an outside chance of winning one more grammy over the next 10 years though I kinda doubt it as more talented pop vocalists are increasingly coming to the fore. And I get the feeling your saying that from a die hard fan's point of view and not an objective point of view.

Jennifer will OWN the Latin categories in both, American Grammy and Latin Grammy!

He's like a male r&b version of a Lindsay Lohan or Ashlee Simpson, the voters won't look at him as a serious musician with serious credibility. And Jennifer Lopez....Once again, I doubt it. Her latin album will prolly be the most well known in her category *if shes nominated* but thats cause she's "J.LO" and I seriously can't see the Gramm voters seriously giving her a grammy when there are so much better musicians out there.

The only person worthy of a Grammy mentioned in this thread imo is KT Tunstall.
I hope Natasha Bedingfield gets a nomination for "Unwritten" - Best Pop Vocal!
I would love to see the Goo Goo Dolls return with something new that blows everyone away, after 8 albums they deserve a Grammy for all of the awesome music they've put out.

I think KT Tunstall fits more into the rock vocal category, just listen to the way she sings in that song.
James Blunt and Matisyahu will be nominated for Best New Artist.

Oct. 1, 2005-Sept. 30, 2006 is the nomination period but of course if you're Alicia Keys you can release your album whenver and still get nominated.

These are people who I just hope get a nomination:
Pop female: Pink, Janet Jackson. Christina most likely will also get nominated. Mariah may get another one in there for DFAU.
R&B male: Maxwell, Prince
R&B female: Teena Marie, Monica
Pop duo or group with vocal: Duran Duran
Of course, this means these artists need to release their new singles/albums before the end of September this year!!!!

I think Mariah will get a few nominations next year as well....most likely in the..
Pop female: DFAU RnB song: Stay The Night (if it's released) RnB performance female: Stay The Night Gospel Song: Fly Like A Bird (it is being released to gospel radio next month. so it's eligable)

I think the only song Mariah can get nominated for next year is "Don't Forget About Us", as for the rest, she's not eligible because her album won.

I think the only song Mariah can get nominated for next year is "Don't Forget About Us", as for the rest, she's not eligible because her album won. I think she could get nominated for the big categories (song and record of the year) with a single off the same album; that's what happened to Green Day last year; American Idiot won rock album, so this year they were only eligible for the main categories. It's right that once the album as a whole wins any Grammys, all the tracks are ineligible for being nominated in the genre categories. (And honestly, if NARAS wouldn't give "We Belong Together" song and/or record of the year, I can't see them awarding a pale imitation of it). this also means that Kelly Clarkson can't get any noms next year, unless by some freak chance "Because of You" ends up in record or something.
