If Kanye's album is out in October or November, it's eligible for next year, so he won't get anything this time unless the lead single drops beforehand.

Theres no way Pink will get nominated for Best Rock with that song. (or in the rock category period). If they still had Rock Female, probably, but not now.

Hey, question for you guys: If Rob Thomas would have released Streetcorner Symphony, his song with John Mayer on guitar, would that qualify as Pop collaboration with vocals? I've heard such conflicting things on the release of this as a single. I just wondered if it would be eligible for a Grammy in this category and if that comes into their decision making at all on whether to release it. Does it qualify for this category?

Record of the Year = Breaking Free seriously, Isn't there actually a Best Children's album category or something? I could see High School Musical being nominated for that.

How? She won't beat out Mary J. Blige and Beyonce in the R&B categories which she'll face them in. MJB in my opinion is a leading contender to sweep the R&B categories like Mariah did. BWY was such a huge hit on that format that if MJB doesn't win, I think it would be a joke. She clearly did the best R&B album this year, at least on the female side.

Does anyone think Grammy darling Beyonce will get some nominations, even if people aren't thinking B'Day is up to par?

LeToya will probably be nominated in the r&b categories, and an outside shot at a best new artist nomination, but she won't win anything.
Beyonce will probably get nominated because NARAS seems to take any excuse whatsoever to give her a nod.

Maybe Beyonce and MJB will split most of the urban vote, and LeToya will win as a result

Beyonce will be nominated, but I can see her being snubbed.

If Beyonce won anything for DejaVu, the Grammy would lose all credibility that it might still have.

I wonder if Irreplaceable or Listen will get nominated for Female Pop Vocal. Sometimes R&B artists get nominated in both pop and R&B.

The Grammys been lost all credibility when Macy Gray won for Best Pop Vocal by a female. I mean that was a damn joke. I even would've voted for Madonna's "Music" over that song.

They might as well not bother nominating anybody else for album of the year given their penchance for rewarding "older" established artists. With all the critics fawning over Bob Dylans latest, there is no comtemporary work that is likely to beat him just because......

The only competition he has is Beyonce(not because I am a big fan), but becase if Dreamgirls show how inspired Bee was and is as great as people are saying, the hype from the movie may give her a win. Example: Ray Charles album wasnt that great according to critics, but with his death and the critical praise the movie got about his life, it got him the win.

The Grammys slobber over everything Beyonce does. They managed to find preposterous categories that she could possibly be nominated for. Last year she didn't put out a damn thing, yet they got these tribute collaborations and gave them a nod. At least she actually has an album out, or else they would have given her a Grammy for "Check On It".

It was kinda obvious it was gonna be nominated along with many other songs on the album. Also...record companies send out the songs to the Grammy committee. So blame the record company. I doubt Check On It would have been nominated.
