Good! I hope that White Horse is the next single. My dream singles would be: 1) Love Story 2) White Horse 3) Fearless 4) You're Not Sorry/Breathe But I want F&A, TYILY, YBWYM, TMY and HS to be singles too. :'( Ugh, too many amazing songs to choose singles from. She should just pull a Rihanna and release every damned song on the album.

Washington Post for Full ArticleThough Swift had trouble going to sleep the night before because, she said, "I didn't know if anybody would buy my album," the early indicators were excellent: Big Machine Records honcho Scott Borchetta -- who'd signed Swift to his nascent label and then watched with amazement as her self-titled debut sold 3.5 million copies -- said last night that first-week sales looked to be "north of 500,000." In fact, he said, based on release-day data from major retailers, 600,000 was well within reach. (One of those release-day buyers: Miley Cyrus, who told Swift that she'd gone to her local Wal-Mart at midnight to pick up the album. "That is so awesome," Swift said.) Anyway, Borchetta joked: "I'll have to go back and look at my original projections, from when this was just starting, but I think we're ahead of schedule."

Fearless has an average score of 83 on Metacritic (universal acclaim). Which is odd since the highest grade it has there is 80. What has led to the huge surge for "Love Story" at country radio over the past week? It's not like its callout scores suddenly improved.

It's not like its callout scores suddenly improved. The reason for Taylor's callout scores not matching up with her placement on Billboard has been explained to you multiple times, so I won't bother answering that.

Press ReleaseTaylor Swift's highly-anticipated sophomore album, Fearless, arrived in stores yesterday, and the collection's lead single, "Love Story," this week is in the #1 position atop both the Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck country radio charts, reaching a weekly radio audience of more than 40 million listeners. Taylor will perform "Love Story" live tonight on the 42nd Annual CMA Awards, broadcast on ABC from 8-11 p.m.(ET/PT). She is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year

If you have not got the album yet, Amazon.com has it for download for only $3.99! Now that's a deal. Thanks Zach! I did not want to even purchase this record, but after seeing your post I shelled out the 4 bucks. I can't pass up a bargain! BTW...is this the shortest climb to the top for a female with 9 weeks?

I think Shania Twain's "Love Gets Me Every Time" did it quicker, but I don't remember exactly how many weeks it took...I'm thinking 6 though.

Hits has updated their prediction and said that Fearless should now sell between 550-600k this week. Amazing.

If 'LGMET' did reach #1 in just six weeks, it must have been at Billboard, since it is substantially easier for a song to spend multiple weeks on top at BB then at R&R.
Ms. Twain needed 10+ weeks to hit #1 @ R&R, where she spent one week on top vs. five @ Billboard.
Nine weeks to #1 for 'Love Story' is an exceptional achievement.

Looks like this will be #1 for quite awhile.. Based upon what? It does look like she'll hold on for a 2nd week, but I don't see her holding it any longer than that. Zac Brown isn't that far behind, still has a strong bullet, and has his album coming out next week, so I really don't see much chance of a 3rd week at the top. Plus I imagine that the Big Machine will stop it's big push now that the song is at #1 and the album is a smashing success.

Looks like this will be #1 for quite awhile.. yep 2 whole weeks....but good news on the pop chart as it was the 3rd biggest spin gainer of the week so that makes it a lock top 10 there.

This is only the second song that I know going back over the past 5-7 years which only spent two weeks @ #1 despite streaking to #1 in a flat-out fabulous nine weeks.
The only other song to do this (as far as I know) was Toby Keith's 'Courtesy Of The Red White & Blue (The Angry American)', which gained 750+ spins (possibly another benchmark) in moving from #2 to #1 @ R&R in July of 2002.
That abnormal airplay spike was caused by two things; a significant boost in airplay generated by a couple of patriotism-themed radio programs, as well as some rather blistering comments by the late ABC newscaster Peter Jennings.
Media reports indicated that when Jennings overheard Toby rehearsing the song (and especially the lines 'We'll put a boot in your a**/It's the American way') he became incensed and stated that Toby would not be performing that song on ABC's July 4th special that year.
That turned out to be the case; 'Courtesy...' managed a second bulletless week @ #1 @ R&R, and then fell to #2 as Kenny Chesney began an eight-week stay at #1 (as Bob Kingsley mentioned on 'CT40' recently) with 'The Good Stuff'.

Next time, instead of heaping attention on those who really shouldn't get any, just ignore the idiocy and leave it to the mod who dealt with the issue an hour ago.
