Last night when she played the California State Fair, she said that this would be her next single.
It is a GREAT song that I think will resonate with country fans. It was written by Victoria Banks and Rachel Proctor. Looks like those girls will make some dough on Jessica's record.
No release date yet, but I would think it would go to radio around the time the album arrives.

I doubt this will do as well as people expect. People expected Kellie Pickler's "I Wonder" to go near the top too not, even close.

I expected Jewel's "I Do" to got top 10 and it didn't happen either.
Let's hope it meets our expectations and this song charts a lot higher than her previous single. The song is good enough for a Top 10 placement!

Good to know. I have Rachel's version of this song on my Ipod and I like it a lot, so here's hoping Jessica's version is great and it does well for her.

As much as I love Kellie, I think I Wonder was too... boring for radio. I really see this doing better. Can't wait!

someone said somewhere on this page that "this won't do as good, just look at "I Wonder" everyone thought it would do great but only a #14 peak came out of it." or something like that.
but i totally disagree with that statement by crox anyway. "I Wonder" is the most emotional song i have ever heard played on radio, and if radio thinks songs that come from the heart are too boring, there is something wrong with that.

I looked at the other posts to see if someone else mentioned "I Wonder". Guess I missed it. Anyway, I don't think they're really comparable. "I Wonder" wasn't as radio friendly as "Remember That" is musically. But "I Wonder" was a ballad. "Remember That" is not. But even if they were similar, I don't think it would mean a lot. Country music is so fickle and unpredictable. I like Jessica but I don't think it bodes well for her that her first single didn't even make Top 15. I agree with what someone said in the other thread, that this song could make or break her. Especially if her album sales aren't so great.

I think that this song is more relateable to people than I WONDER was. A LOT of people have dealt with abuse or know someone who has. Not everyone has had an absent mother. The absent mother thing is rather uncommon.

i guess theyre putting out all the big guns now in time for the album release. they prob realized they cant ride coo anymore as it has gone recurrent...does this single even have an adds date yet? i just find it weird to have the video out if the single hasnt tested yet...but im sure that has been done before.

I'm actually not surprised that the label is leading with the video...I thought (and posted in the "Come On Over" thread) that they would, given that CMT is more likely right now to provide immediate support than country radio. Moreover, the video release will get some more talk going and improve audience familiarity with the single when it does get sent to radio. What I didn't predict is that the label would have the video ready this soon, if it is really the case that it does. The thing about "I Wonder" that made it an impact single beyond its #14 peak on radio is that it was so obviously Kellie's story, a story that was well-known to everyone thanks to AI. There was an undeniable honesty to it. So far, Jessica has played coy about her connection to "Remember That," and it will be interesting to see how that issue is handled (she and her handlers need to be careful because they're already up against a common though not universal perception that they'll use anything for publicity). As for album sales, I would think the initial album sales will be fine. Young female artists have been debuting with high sales relative to their airplay this year (see: Julianne Hough and Jewel and, arguably, Heidi Newfield). Julianne Hough managed something like 67K in debuting at #1 on the country albums chart in May, and I would be very surprised if Jessica didn't top that off her existing fanbase and the gobs of publicity and promotion she is receiving. Patty Loveless is unlikely to sell more copies in the first week and I don't think the sales boosts from the CMA Music Fest broadcast and CMA nominations will be high enough for a holdover release to top Jessica's first week. So she should debut at #1 on the country albums chart, at least.

Nevermind NO VIDEO in three days. Just got a clarification that the radio station has a video interview that they are puting up.

Just curious...who do you guys think this song is about? I know Jess didn't write it, but she did just say that she relates to it since she was in a very abusive relationship in the past.

Um did you see before me someone was comparing the two songs? um i already pointed that out and they said that they didn't see that. That is what happens when you dont read all the posts before making a comment. Anyway, I dont see this song making top 20. Jewel's first song made top 20 and the second is barely top 40 so far. Julianne Hough made top 20 and her second is nowhere to be found. Their first songs either made it to recurrent status or was close. Jessica's first song is falling like a rock and will not come close to going recurrent. I dont see this as being a good sign for her on the country chart.

Here's why: The song is bound to get tons of spins on country radio for being heartfelt and, to an extent, relate able. However, I'm pretty sure interest will die out when she stays quiet (AS SHE SHOULD) about this alleged abusive relationship she was in. This song is a decent song and should do fairly well though.

Songs go recurrent after week 20 and Come On Over is dropping like a rock at week 13 so it is not recurrent yet.

I'm very impressed with this song. She sounds great and the lyrics will resonate with country listeners.
Top 10? Maybe. Top 15? Absolutely.
But this is another one of those songs that if it was sung by Carrie, Taylor or Sugarland, it's a guaranteed Top 3.

I like Rachel's vocals on the song much better than Jessica's. Jessica doesn't have the lower register for a song like this to really make it sound great. It is a good message song so it should get to at least top 20. I'm guessing this will be what she sings at the Opry so that should give the song a nice little boost.
Any word if she will sing at the CMA's?
