Songs go recurrent after week 20 and Come On Over is dropping like a rock at week 13 so it is not recurrent yet. I thought you were referring to mediabase. It went recurrent on that chart.

I love this song. You know, I have to say, I'm kind of getting excited about this cd (I know! Jessica Simpson? Shut up! haha). I've pretty much made up my mind I WILL be buying it. I've heard it's leaked but since I'm not very good at finding that sort of stuff, I guess I'll have to wait till next Tuesday. I'd be buying it anywho but something to tide me over would sure have been nice haha
I can't wait to see the video for this.

Here is Rachel proctor's Blog post about the song and gives some insight on why it was written and to addrress the haters out there. This is from Rachel Proctor's MySpace blog: "Wednesday, August 20, 2008 Remember That on Jessica’s MySpace Page In February of 2005 I escaped from a really bad relationship where I was being emotionally and verbally abused. It is still hard to admit and even harder to say out loud. This is the first time I've ever blogged about it. It took me a long time to figure out what was happening to me. I thought I was going crazy. The word abuse seemed like such a strong word to use because I wasn't being physically harmed like a lot of the women I had met while touring with my single "Me and Emily." It took one big incident to wake me up. It took him screaming at me that I was an incompetent, crazy, stupid bitch for me to realize I needed to get away from him. Not sure why those three words triggered my leaving but they did. I finally left him ... but not before his controlling and manipulating had cost me my record deal and my sanity. I still struggle to this day with forgiveness and honestly don't know if that will ever come. October 30th 2006 was the first day I ever wrote with Victoria Banks but I had been saving an idea for her for months. For some reason my gut was telling me that she was the person to write it with. We had just met but I felt comfortable sharing my experience with her. I told her I wanted to write a song about it and I wanted to call it "Remember That." I noticed that Vic had started to tear up as she began to confide that she had also been in a similar situation. We spent a couple of hours just talking about it and then we wrote it. The song was easy to write because every line was something true, something one of us had gone through. "Remember That" was the first song Vic and I ever wrote together. That was almost 2 years ago. We have always known from the second we finished it that it was going to take a certain artist to sing it. Someone who could relate to it. Someone who could feel every word. Victoria and I have spent time with Jessica and we know how true this song is for her and we are proud of her for having the courage to record and perform it. Both Vic and I adore Jessica for the wonderful person she is. The reason I'm writing this blog is because I read a message board this morning. I try not to do that because I have this protective nature about me and when people say nasty things about people I love and respect I can't help but get really pissed off. I wonder sometimes what people must be thinking with some of the horrible things they say. One woman said she felt like this song made a mockery of women who had been abused and I thought to myself "this has to be coming from someone who has never experienced abuse herself or she would know... When a woman has been abused...physically or emotionally...it is not something we're proud of. When a woman has the courage and strength to admit she has been abused she should be taken seriously. When that same woman has the celebrity and power to sing about it and possibly reach other women who are being abused that woman should be appreciated and praised for the lives she may save. I know from the success of "Me and Emily" how powerful a song can be. I still to do this day get e-mails about how that song changed someone's life. I get just as many e-mails about "Remember That" and I'm so excited that Jessica has recorded it. Her version is now posted on her MySpace page and it sounds amazing. www.myspace.com/jessicasimpsonI've heard the whole album and I can honestly say it's one of the best female country albums I've heard in years. "You're My Sunday" and "Sippin' On History" are amazing songs. There's actually not a bad song on the whole thing. She collaborated with Nashville's best...Hillary Lindsey, Brett James, and Troy Verges among others. It comes out September 9th and I think you should go buy it. You will NOT be disappointed. All my love, Rachel" www.myspace.com/rachelproctorsongs

Wow, I really like this song! I've got to say though, that last line really drives me nuts. The "I've stood there in your shoes" line? Why's that? I love it. Yeah it just seems really out of place. And as dumb as it sounds, I hate that it doesn't rhyme. Plus I don't like it concluding that she's been abused too. I think they should just stick to the one battered woman on this one.

See, I took that line as the singer talking to the listener. Like the whole song is the singer talking to listener, telling them all the things to remember when they are tempted to give him another try, to let him back in her life. I think that final lines sums it up nicely - kind of a I know of what I speak type thing, or that the singer isn't just giving empty advice or preaching on things she knows nothing of. Just my take on it

HDD first-week sales prediction:
Epic/Columbia Nashville’s newest country diva, Jessica Simpson, with the most discussed cleavage in Music City this side of Dolly Parton, is headed for a first-week of around 65-70k for her new Do You Know album. Now, you do.

In a few weeks, this album will be toast, so Jess can take off her cowboy boots. I guess there won't be any need for Romo either or to insult Underwood.

I don't really care for this one. I liked "Come On Over". It may sound bad but I think the reason I don't like this one is because of her voice, especially during the chorus. I love Rachel's original version of this song, but Jessica's is just too much imo.

Over the course of four albums in nearly ten years, the public at large has proven largely indifferent to Jessica Simpson the pop singer, stringing her along with a handful of charting singles but never quite giving her a big, undeniable pop hit, the kind that would justify her celebrity. Uh...'With You'? 'I Wanna Love You Forever'? 'Irresistible'? All of them were "big, undeniable pop hits." In a few weeks, this album will be toast, so Jess can take off her cowboy boots. I guess there won't be any need for Romo either or to insult Underwood. Right. Guess she can just join Jewel and the countless other country singers who have debuted with less in the "unemployed" line then.

Its no telling how much Columbia Nashville has put out in advertising dollars to make this a big selling debut. 75k would have to be disappointing. But cheers the cd could develop legs and sell over time like Taylor Swift's debut. Or not. I would say not at this point partly because of Jessica's attention antics. That just doesn't go over well in country music like it does in pop.

The material on the cd is actually pretty good (except the DREADFUL You're My Sunday). I do think she painfully oversings though and much of the performances seem affected. The first verse of Sippin' On History is beautiful but that seems to be the exception to the rule with this cd.
But I thoroughly enjoy Do You Know. She and Dolly sound good together. They should release this.

Ya, I was thinking I liked that song as well. Only ones I recall being weak are Come On Over and Do You Know.

^ Aww, I like You're My Sunday. I could write a dissertation on the flaws of this song lyrically. But for the sake of everyone, I will refrain.

I really liked Rachel Procter's version of this song better, but Jessica's version was growing on me until she sang it on the View. May take awhile to get that out of my system. I wish Rachel had released it. I do like Still Beautiful though.

How many of her pop fans are actually going to buy this album? She's pretty much only getting sales from country music fans. And 75K for a debut album is really good in country music.

And 75K for a debut album is really good in country music. i thnk jessica still has her diehard fans fr the beg, so whethr its pop or country, those kind of fans will surely buy this cd. 75k is a good no., but imo, its a bit disapppointng considerng the promo money her label spent, its obvoiusly more than what the othr new and crossovr country music artists got, not to mention the fact tht jessica has "publicity" outside of what her label does for promo. so shes out there, & for someone so out there in the public's consciuosness, 75k is a bit disappointng, but thats just me. so when is ths single gonna be officially rleased? for smething mentiond quite awhile ago, its taking a bit long.... edit: i went back and checkd the orignal post, and it wasnt that long ago. sorry for the mistake...
