Just my take on it, but I wouldn't be surprised if the label slacked off a lot with the promotion. They must have sunk a lot into it already with all the banner ads and other promo and they haven't gotten a lot of bang for their bucks. To me, Jessica came into country music with a lot of celebrity name recognition and months of buzz, but it didn't translate into a lot of interest in her music. I don't think her last pop album did that well either compared to 2005 sales, did it? Her sales could rebound with a hit single and lots of promotion over the holiday season, but her best chance may have passed her by unless they're willing to spend some more and she's up to working her backside off. There are always a few exceptions but generally sales follow a trend and when an album drops down the charts quickly like this is doing chances are its a goner. True. With a new artist they climb the chart if they have radio hits and that can make the album develops legs and sells steadily. Then they get more and bigger promo. Jessica got the promo like an established star would get when their album drops. This song may tell the tale on her country career if it fails to chart higher than COO did. Personally, I think it's a very good song, great message, but her vocals are too breathy for my taste.

I think the problem is the majority of people can't stand to hear her sing. All she does is talk about Tony anyway. People are over her. I hope y0u are not right, but given all these facts I kind of think you are.

"Remember That" fell a spot on the charts. From 48 to 49.

I agree that she needs to stop being so damn public about her relationship with Tony. I'm glad she's happy, but enough is enough. Let the music take center stage for once. I'm tired of trying to sit through her performances, only to hear her spend more time talking about him than singing.
And if 'RT' really did fall a spot already, ouch. I hope it rebounds, or else this album is probably over. I doubt her label would be willing to push another single if the second one flops.

She still gained over 100k in AI, but Julianne Hough, Darius Rucker, Jimmy Wayne and Whitney Duncan all passed her, so she slipped to #49. It's still far too early to call this 'over', but it's sure not a good sign. The 'Jessica goes country' buzz is pretty much over now, and her music will have to make it on its own. Based on what I've heard (which is only the singles), I'm not so sure it will.

I think so. Go to TMZ.com and you'll see that Jessica wasn't in such a good mood today either.

Man, I feel bad for her. She just can't catch a break. I was really hoping her new album would take off and put the focus back on her music. Guess that isn't going to happen. I still think she needs to "disappear" for a few years and then try to make a comeback.

She is a multimillionaire many times over from her clothing and perfume and lingerie lines. So I don't feel that bad for her.But it does go to show you just because everyone knows your face and name, and you have a famous boyfriend, and hire top producers, songwriters and publicists,it does not mean you will have a hit record.

Is she even making a video for this song? Seems to me like she's not doing the needed work to promote it. Maybe the record company has given up.

I might be wrong but I don't see this single salvaging the album. The song itself is well-written but as a listener I just don't pick up any connection between singer and song. Maybe a video would help. I think she's out and about promoting her perfume right now so maybe that's where her focus is and the music is on the backburner.

I think she realizes the album is history and has given up.

^ I just don't think she has much interest in music anymore, despite what she says to the contrary. It's clear her heart isn't in it. If she really cared and wanted the album to do well, she'd be out there promoting it as much as possible, not hocking a new perfume.

^i agree with you. plus it also seems shes more interestd in talking abt her relationship with romo more than her music.
but she is touring w/ rf this january, so who knows, maybe she hasnt given up yet. she should get a vocal coach and a "stage" coach or whatever you call those people who can tell her to not sing "ugly" bec she just makes the ugliest faces out there, w/c i believe can be avoided. and i also hope she practices more to be in sync w/ her band bec, truthfully, those do-overs with her band bec she forgot the lyrics are not at all cute, its totally unprofessional.

The conversations in this thread seem to be very circular...
And for anyone who thinks "Remember That" is done, it isn't.

She hasn't been relevant in pop music for quite some time, and this country experiment is a disaster.
In a few years, she'll be on the reality TV circuit with Marsha Brady and Screech.

Too bad there aren't any panel based game shows around anymore. Being bottom right on Hollywood Squares is about as low as you can get, literally.

Darius Rucker sold three times as much as her this week and his CD came out the week after hers. Jessica sold just over 4,000. In contrast, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood sold well over 10,000 copies and their CDs have already been out over a year.
Note to Jessica: salsa music may have an opening for you. next.

Uhhh...are they putting this on hold until she tours or what? What a mess! Let's hope so. I remember predicting that this song would peak higher than 'Come On Over' . Agh, why is it that Jessica's label can never seem to get their s**t together when it comes to her? If they weren't ready to push 'RT' as a single, they should have held off completely. I don't know if they were just expecting it to fly up the charts based on her name and the relative success of 'COO', but whatever the case, it's pretty much D.O.A. right now. Where's the video? Promotion? This whole situation is just so frustrating. At least she has the Rascal Flatts tour to fall back on. That should help her out a bit.
