I think the video will only occur if the song moves up the charts a little bit more. At least this week it nudged up 2 spots to 47.

Correct me if I am wrong but this album is not showing at all on the Billboard 200.How can this be after only 6 weeks and all the publicity that went on with her? She is currently on the cover of several more magazines this months.I don't get it.Does it have something to do with the music or what?

^ I think it's more her image and bad live performances. She had a good producer and top notch songwriters.

Her live performances haven't been THAT bad.

I get the feeling that Jessica just can't sing very well at all. She sounds pitchy — even worse than Taylor Swift — and she's about a quarter-step off half the time. I don't like her strangled tone on the chorus of this song, but I do like the lyrics of this song.
Honestly, from what I've seen and heard (which is very little), I get the feeling that Jessica's career survives only on negative publicity.

I get the feeling that Jessica just can't sing very well at all. I don't agree with that at all. She can't sing as well as she used to, but she does have a good voice. I could point you in the direction of countless live performances and songs that prove that.

I was surprised when I heard this on the radio this morning on my way to school. I guess our country station here in town has played it some.

I'm really disappointed that this song isn't doing well on the charts (among others I like). But it's the lyrics that got me interested in the song and the message it speaks about. I truly believe Jessica is being sincere about crossing over into coutnry and will do well as long as country raido takes her seroiusly...but up to this point, they haven't. >:(

Most of her performances have been pretty shitty this era. I love Jessica (she's my second favorite female artist), but I don't know what happened to her - her live performances used to be amazing, sometimes even better than the studio recording, but they've been extremely lacking in recent years.

I do think this song is done now which is a shame. Hopefully, when January rolls around they will release Still Beautiful as the next single.

Still Beautiful would be a great single. I would hate to see that song released as a single. I want either 'Still Don't Stop Me' or 'Do You Know' next.

I really like 'Still Beautiful'; I just don't want it to be the next single. I'd rather they release 'Still Don't Stop Me' or 'Sipping On History', THEN 'SB' as the album's final single in summer '09.

There was a news item on PerezHilton.com today that Jessica is about to be dropped by her label . Not surprising at all. It looks like this song is done, and since her album wasn't very successful and this song tanked, there really isn't much point in pouring more money into a sinking ship. I thought she might squeak out a 3rd single, but this was really her only chance for a real hit, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if she gets dropped.

I'm surprised that they are going to ditch her after ITS, and after she had a top 20 Country single.

Many country artists who have had Top 20 singles have been dropped, not surprising at all.

I'm surprised that they are going to ditch her after ITS, and after she had a top 20 Country single. Well, in their defense, ITS was released 5 years ago, and her sales have really taken a hit since then. Her last pop album (2006's A Public Affair) only sold 250k, and I believe Do You Know currently stands at just over 100k. 'Come On Over' did peak in the top 20, but 'Remember That' didn't even reach the top 40. I'm not surprised that Columbia is dropping her, although I am disappointed. I'm sure another label will be quick to pick her up, though.

I'm sure another label will be quick to pick her up, though. I dont see that happening in Nashville though. I'm sure an indie label would take her on in a heartbeat, but I don't see a major Nashville label doing so. Her best bet is probably to go back to pop.

Also, she did say that if her label dropped her, she would just continue releasing music through her own means. And I really hope she sticks with country. I don't want her to return to pop, and she's made it pretty clear that she doesn't want to do that either.

There was a news item on PerezHilton.com today that Jessica is about to be dropped by her label . About to be dropped? That's a weird way for him to frame it, and suggests to me that he is leaving himself room because he's not sure it will happen. In any case, considering the source, meh. I agree that with two consecutive albums selling poorly and following the same pattern of massive upfront hype across TV, internet and print; big upfront spend; bad to mediocre reviews and lead single fizzling out well before the album drop date because it didn't sustain radio interest, it isn't that hard to fathom that Simpson would lose her record deal. The other reason I think it's possible is that her chief backer at Sony was Charlie Walk, whom she followed from Columbia to Epic, and who is now on his way out from Sony. I don't know how involved he was with her country effort, but I see him as a highly-placed someone who would have attempted to protect her, now out from the label. I'm not sure about Simpson getting signed to another label, but she doesn't really need a deal if she wants to make music. I've no doubt that if she can put together an album, her father will be able to negotiate a retailer exclusive (and given that she often attempts to tie together promotion of other product lines with the release of new music, it's even easier to imagine a retailer exclusive happening). The main challenge would be A&R, and how much she would be willing to invest in it. If "Remember That" is indeed done (I think it just managed to avoid Billboard/ R&R recurrency this past week), I don't think there is another hit on the album. The title track is the only other decent song on the album, in my view, but Jessica's painful caterwauling at the end just about ruins it (though a radio edit could cut that out).

^ See, I actually love her belting at the end of 'Do You Know'. It's my favorite part of the song, and it may just be my favorite part of the entire album. I think she sounds fantastic there. As for other singles on the album, 'Still Don't Stop Me', 'Still Beautiful', and 'Sipping On History' all have potential, IMO.
