Ummm... Every time Rihanna comes out with a new album she says it's going to be more "punk" and "rock."
But yeah I hope this album isn't full of "Disturbia's" and shit. [From what I've seen] more people like her when she's more urban than when she's on her white girl Becky shit. She should just continue with the edgy R&B and pop songs.

Ooh - she's writing 3 whole songs herself. And I highly doubt she even has a correct understanding of what "punk rock" is but if the album leans more towards BD (edgy R&B) than SU&D/Disturbia, I'll be content.

This is a fake article from Wikipedia. No its not it was confirmed from ALLMUSIC.COM Yeah, it wasn't. lol Allmusic.com is All Music Guide's website, and I don't even think they conduct interviews there. When she was in the UK last week, she said that she didn't know what the new album would sound like, but she wants it to show growth. She also said she's taking time off after her Australian tour with Chris Brown to start her fashion line and maybe a do a few movies. I think she will have a new album out by December of next year.

Work in Progress is right in a sense. Rihanna on Live Your Life is exactly what I've been waiting on from her. That little accent with an attitude over banging beat.

She needs to go away and re-emerge in 2010.

Quote: On October 4th 2008 in an interview with All Music, Rihanna confirmed that she is currently in the studio working on her fourth studio album. She stated that.
“I’m currently working on record number four and I’m having so much fun. I’m having so many new experiences and meeting so many new people, it’s amazing”.
Rihanna also stated that the album will head in a more Techno Rock direction saying,
“I want this album to head in the same direction as Good Girl Gone Bad but with even more edge. The tracks will be less R&B influenced and will have a feel closer to that of, Disturbia, Shut Up & Drive and Breakin’ Dishes”.
Rihanna also stated that she will be writing 3 tracks of the album herself and that they are quite different from her previous work and also stated that one of the tracks will fit into the punk-rock category”. She is also studying for a new and more even hot look. A release date for the album has not yet been announced, but it’s probably that it will came out in early 2009 (March/April period)
Quote: The international superstar that is Rihanna has got some magic up her sleeves for us on her fourth album, due in 2009.
Though she says the album is going in a more "techno rock" direction, it will have a couple eclectic tracks. One of the three that she is writing completely on her own is going to be more punk-rock.
But, this will all be processed through a pop lens - so fret not.
Think more Disturbia and less Hate That I Love You.
Overall, RiRi wants the album to be edgier than her smash Good Girl Gone Bad.
She is also in the process of synthesizing a new hotter look for herself.
We can't wait for her new album! We're totally excited for more

T.I. also has a big week over on the Hot 100, where he breaks the record for largest climb to No. 1 -- a feat he already accomplished only six weeks ago. "Live Your Life" featuring Rihanna, the second single from "Paper Trail," leaps 80-1, replacing the album's first single "Whatever You Like" at No. 1; the latter leapt to the top 71-1 the week of Sept. 6 and remained there until this week. That makes this T.I. the first artist to replace himself at No. 1 since Usher traded in "Burn" for "Confessions Part II" in July 2004.

Many people have gone around and around about who is the "next" Madonna. Britney, Christina Aguilera, etc. But in my opinion, if anyone is close to Madonna in style and attitude and work ethic, it's Rihanna.
They also have similar vocal abilities, aren't afraid to take risks, do well at many different styles of music, and both have only one name!
The first years of Rihanna's career have been remarkably similar to Madonna's too. Madonna was all over radio from 1983-1987, just like Rihanna's past few years. Rihanna just hasn't had the huge album sales that Madonna had in those early years.

I agree. They both kind of came out of "dance" movements (as in the music, not necessary literal dancing, although of course Madonna did that). And Madonna and Rihanna are both innovative musically. I can't say the same for Britney.

And as far as album sales, albums dont sell much now these days like back in the days, the most they'll sell WW now is like is like 5-10 million.

Rihanna started with Caribbean influences and moved to dance-pop and then to techno-pop, all styles that weren't in the mainstream of US pop music at the time she started cranking out her hits, which is why they ended up being hits, because they were fresh. Britney had a degree of uniqueness to her when she first came out, although she was basically following the musical movement started by other pop acts of the period like N'Sync and the Spice Girls. Since then she had one big innovative hit (Toxic) and moved into the generic hip-hop realm and specifically with Blackout she followed the trends set by the Pussycat Dolls, Nelly Furtado, and yes Rihanna.

I think Rihanna has an awful voice. That video of her shreiking didn't help anybody's case.
She can sound completely gorgeous sometimes though. Why they didn't include a clip of 'Sell Me Candy' in that little clip is beyond me. She sounds flawless in that song. 'Rehab' is a great vocal performance from her as well.

It's very 80s throwback. I like it. I would probably prefer something else as a lead single, but it's good.

I like it. It reminds me of something Jesse Johnson would have done. She can't release a song like that to radio though. I don't think they'd bite.
