JCMF3 got both songs correct (and sorry about the off-color clue for #12 - I couldn't resist)
For song #11, the version of "The Safety Dance" I was talking about would be the longer version.

Well, then think about the beginning of the song, as well as the part right after the instrumental bridge.

11) Gavin DeGraw - I Don't Want To Be (I like the version with the lyrical bridge played in its entirety)
EDIT: Hollaback Girl better be right for #11. If not, I am VERY disappointed that Hollaback Girl is put in the top 10 of your version of the year-end 100! >:( >:( >:( (I'm already discouraged you let that song beat out others...)

"Hollaback Girl" is indeed number eleven. Actually, I'm surprised that song didn't make it into the Top Ten. But it just had a fast rise and relatively fast fall. It's so funny; I usually don't like songs like that but there was something about "Hollaback Girl" that I liked (probably the B-A-N-A-N-A-S near the end, which was, of course, the thing it had in common with "The Safety Dance")
"Hollaback Girl" was the song that took the biggest jump to #1 on my version of the charts of 2005, as well as the decade so far (jumped from 9 to 1 on May 13).

And now! We enter the Top Ten. As usual, I'll be presenting only one song at a time.
10) The name of this song is the synonym of the title of a Wilson Phillips hit from their first album.

That is correct (and also, it's an antonym of their other number one song from 1990, "Hold On")
9) This song is approaching a record on a certain countdown show that shall remain nameless.

6) This was the top song of 2005 on the VH-1 Weekly Rewind, though I don't see how, as it didn't spend as many weeks on the chart as one might think.

Top40dj is correct (although JCMF3 was on the right track, as both songs experienced premature termination on the VH-1 show, which would result in them not spending as much time as you may think.
5) On a recent special Rick Dees show, this song was referred to as a number one song when it actually had yet to hit #1.

No, this song actually did hit #1 on the R&R chart. It just hadn't topped the chart yet when the said special show was broadcast - for the first time, that is.

That's what I'm looking for!
4) Of the Top 40 songs of 2005, this was my favorite, which might sound sort of weird to some, since I generally don't like this type of music. But the chord progressions made this song sound sort of haunting.
