Jamie O'Neal has started a new label called Momentum records. Their first artist signed is Rachele Lynae who'll put her first single out in March, "Party 'Til The Cows Come Home". I'm hoping this means Jamie will also be putting out music soon, maybe her sister Minnie can also sign to the label as their father is also part of the label. Source: www.jamieoneal.com/I hope this means Jamie's going to be putting out new music as well. I miss her voice. She has such an amazingly underrated set of pipes. I got her Brave album last weekend for my birthday, and its so good.

grr.... A LOT IS NOT ONE WORD, IT'S TWO. Sorry, steelo, but that really bugs me alot. Then let it bug you. Alot of people's posts on here bug me, but I just ignore it and move on. I didn't mean for that to come off as angry or anything, which is why I put the second line in there. Also, Jamie O'Neal was just okay IMO, but There Is No Arizona was awesome.

The Teddy Awards were such an unnecessary and rather stupid idea, tbqh.

I don't get how a song can be by "Miranda Lambert featuring Pistol Annies". Isn't she a Pistol Annie? That's like "Sugarland featuring Jennifer Nettles".

I think they are doing that for marketing purposes because more people know Miranda Lambert than Pistol Annies. So people would be more likely to buy the song or album if they saw Miranda's name attached to it.

I'm kind of curious of what this means and what Sugarland has planned. But those that haven't heard, so far Sugarland pulled from two festival shows in July and this is the statement they sent out regarding the cancellations.
"Dauphin's Countryfest has learned that Sugarland is unable to perform at the 2012 festival and with a quick turnaround, Reba - the Queen of Country- has been secured as the Sunday headliner.
“Scheduling conflicts due to TV obligations” is the explanation Sugarland representatives have confirmed that forced the duo to cancel their performance on July 1st as well as a number of other dates around this time.

Love the song, remember the video.
I still wanna know, though — how the heck can someone have singles go to #20 and #24, but their album doesn't even chart?!

Sony's family trio The Henningsens (songwriters behind The Band Perry's "You Lie" & "All Your Life", Sara Evans' "Alone", and Wynonna's "Love Out Loud") have uploaded a bunch of demos to their facebook page (they sound pretty impressive). Also, I found a new singer on Show Dog-Universal, Joel Crouse.

Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines Takes Jab at Jason AldeanBy: Billy Dukes | 2 hours ago Kevin Winter / Michael Loccisano, Getty Images That old saying, “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all” must have fallen on deaf ears at the Natalie Maines household. The Dixie Chicks vocalist rode a storm of criticism on her own Twitter page after cracking a joke at Jason Aldean‘s expense during the 2012 Grammy Awards on Sunday night. “Well the good thing about his mic going out is suddenly the song got a lot more in tune,” Maines tweeted, adding that he was “pitchy” in his delivery. Aldean’s microphone cut out during the end of his performance of ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay’ with Kelly Clarkson. Perhaps more surprising than the verbal slap is Country Music Is Love‘s report that the ‘Wide Open Spaces’ singer doesn’t even know who Aldean is. “I don’t know him. I just know this wasn’t a good night for him. It happens,” she responded when a fan called her out. Unsurprisingly, many fans didn’t care for her comment against the ‘Dirt Road Anthem’ hitmaker. “Country music star Jason Aldean was singing with Kelly and your tweet was just plain mean – and incorrect,” one fan said. “I got nothing against the guy, but really? You thought that was in tune?” Maines asked. She clarified her point for another fan, tweeting, “I get the feeling you don’t like that I don’t like top 40 country music.Music’s subjective.” It seems that in the nearly 10 years away from mainstream country music, the singer hasn’t kept up with the times — which she admits. “I haven’t been aware of country music in at least 6 years. It’s not my thing,” she tweeted in response to one shocked fan. A look at who she follows on the social media site backs up that statement. It’s mostly actors, comedians and friends. “I used to follow it because I felt it was my job to know what was going on. I don’t think that anymore;),” she added later. Maines did have nice things to say about Bon Iver and Etta James, and earlier said a few nice words about Whitney Houston. She even paid Taylor Swift a compliment. “Haven’t seen anybody make the banjo look sexy since Emily Robison. #goodjobtaylorswift,” she tweeted. It was an typically open and honest night on Twitter for the singer, who often says things that would make Blake Shelton blush. Source Miranda Lambert Shocked by Chris Brown’s Appearance at the GrammysBy: Brittany Joy Cooper | 3 hours ago Jason Merritt, Getty Images This year marked the first year hip-hop artist Chris Brown has been a part of the Grammys since 2009, when he beat up Rihanna, his girlfriend at the time, just before the ceremony. The Recording Academy’s choice to have him on as a performer in 2012 has stirred up a lot of reaction from people, both good and bad, especially since he was allowed to perform not once, but twice on Sunday night. One artist who’s not hiding her opinion on the matter is Miranda Lambert, who is not the type to sit idly by and let a fellow girl get beaten down. On Twitter on Monday (Feb. 13), Lambert said she was just getting a chance to watch some of the televised Grammy performances, since she was at the ceremony when they were televised live. Speaking of the show, she first tweeted: “Just got to watch some of the Grammy’s. Love how much country music was represented. Makes me proud!” Then, just one minute later, her reaction went sour. She tweeted “How dang long did they give Nicki Minaj to do whatever that was? Strange. And Chris Brown twice? I don’t get it. He beat on a girl …” adding seconds after, “Not cool that we act like that didn’t happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.” Lambert was referring to her 2007 hit ‘Gunpowder and Lead,’ a song about a woman plotting to put an end to her abusive husband as soon as he is released from jail (think Dixie Chicks‘ ‘Goodbye Earl.’) For the most part, fans seemed to be retweeting and giving their full agreement on the matter, encouraging Lambert to ‘preach it’ and even suggesting that Brown should be in jail right now for his actions. Despite the support, Lambert softened up a bit, telling her fans, “As for my tweets ‘it’s just one clowns opinion.’ I love music and that’s what it’s all about. Speaking of … watch @nbcthevoice tonight!” And while Lambert’s “clown’s opinion” on the matter seems to be shared by many, Chris Brown also has his share of extreme loyals, a couple of whom used some choice words of their own and let Lambert know exactly how they felt about her and her musings. Still, she brings up a valid point that’s being discussed by people both in favor of and against Brown’s entrance back into the public’s good graces. Source

Glad Miranda spoke her mind. I couldn't agree more. I'd love nothing more than for Chris Brown to just go away. He irritates me to no end. I love Natalie Maines, and the comment is hilarious. Wish she would tone it down a little for her sake (so she isn't the target of criticism everytime she's in the headlines), but I don't think she really cares, obviously. And she really shouldn't, I suppose. Her infamous president commentary was the most over-blown and unnecessary drama I've ever seen. No way did she deserve the reaction she got for that.

Hideous overreactions like that are bound to happen in a PC world such as this; Natalie will always be Natalie, and they'll always be one of my favortie country bands ever.

I agree with Natalie actually, while I like Jason he was kind of off that night so she had a point. While I'm not a fan of Chris Brown I don't get why people are making a big deal out of this. I think what he did was awful but he was sentenced and fufilled it and Rihanna herself has said she's over it. If we were to ban every musician who's done something wrong in their life then we'd have very few left. I for one applaud the Grammy's for letting him perform, he has every right to his career.
