» Dungan To Helm UMG/Nashville: No official comment has been made, but Country Aircheck has confirmed that Capitol/Nashville & EMI Nashville President/CEO Mike Dungan is moving to UMG/Nashville in a similar capacity, as UMGN Chairman Luke Lewis transitions to a new yet-to-be-determined role with the company. Details as they become available. - breaking country aircheck news I just read an article on the Tennesseean site and it's making sense now. The UMG buying out EMI is a full blown merger really. If it goes through UMG will be getting Captiol/EMI's full roster not only of the country format but christian format. Mike Dungan will be leaving Capitol/EMI on March 31st and employees of Capitol are being told to look at him as a competitor rather than friend until the merge is complete. www.tennessean.com/article/20120225/BUSINESS01/302250018/Dungan-line-get-Universal-Music-top-spot?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|FRONTPAGE

^ The picture is SO PRECIOUS... You can tell RD is so so so very proud of his son and his DIL :) Per Dunn earlier about his son... "...a school teacher for difficult / troubled teens in California. He is a GOOD man !"

Illness Forces George Strait to Postpone Kansas City Concert
George Strait cut his concert short Saturday night (Feb. 25) in Kansas City because of illness, but he will return there this coming Saturday (March 3) for another performance at the Sprint Center. After an hour-long opening set by Martina McBride, Strait walked onstage around 9:15 p.m. and launched into the title song from his latest album, Here for a Good Time. The Kansas City Star newspaper reported that after singing "I Gotta Get to You," his voice was "labored and hoarse" when he told the crowd, "I just can't do it." Although the audience was disappointed, many fans stood and cheered their support after he made the announcement. Tickets to the original show will be honored at the makeup date which will reportedly also featured McBride. The two singers began the tour on Jan. 27 in Lafayette, La. They performed Friday in Des Moines, Iowa. The Kansas City date was the final stop of the brief tour.

Not to step on Dustin's toes, but since he hasn't posted one today... No worries here... I wasn't at my computer Friday (just had my phone). I have a serious Orrall fixation. I don't know how to say this without someone taking it the wrong way so I'll just say it... I'm a fan of Orrall too. (I also considered, "I love Orrall" and "Orrall rocks")

Yay for Emily!! Not sure if this is just for the soundtrack or she signed with Elektra but eitherway It's good to know she'll have a new song out there. Her Ep from a month or so back was really good.

Without a doubt the most underrated group in country music (at least in my opinion). Shame that Shut Up Train was never a hit.

^ I agree. Little Big Town should have a lot more success on radio. I thought they would be getting the recognition they deserve when LWC was big, but then they just went right back into obscurity. Granted, KG wasn't really a radio-friendly release, but it was still a beautiful song that deserved to be a surprise hit.

I really like Little Big Town but after the mega comeback hit that Little White Church was, following it up with Kiss Goodbye doomed them. That has my vote as the worst song they ever have recorded or released and I don't see them recovering or having another big hit. There were so many good songs on the record that could have been big 2nd singles for them (All The Way Down, All Over Again, etc.), so I do not understand why the label would sign off on releasing Kiss Goodbye. So much potential wasted.

So much potential wasted. Cause "Kiss Goodbye" was a powerful tune. Radio friendly, perhaps not, but powerful nonetheless. The interesting takeaway from this news is that LBT is working without Wayne Kirkpatrick as producer for the first time since their very first album with Monument Records.

But James is my favorite of all of them, and this was my favorite single of his, I don't know how he disappeared so quickly.

Kiss Goodbye is personally my favorite song on the album along with Shut Up Train. I was glad it was the second single and expected top 30 at least to ride off the success from LWC. I was honestly completely shocked at how hard it flopped.
I agree that LBT is by far the most underrated group in country music, and imo, the most underrated act in all of music. These guys are PHENOMENAL live. It will be a tragedy if Little Big Town never makes it big.

^ Absolutely. Their National Anthem last week before NASCAR's Bud Shootout was one of the best I have EVER heard. Stunning vocals.

The Swing is easily my fave from Bonamy. He had some good stuff, and the bluest eyes in Florida. But judging from some of his YouTube comments, he apparently isn't fond of his singing career. I heard The Swing on the radio on the way back from my Wheel of Fortune audition in Jacksonville. The Almighty's been spamming me with signs from above lately, hasn't he?

No, he's peeking into mine. I have all those CDs too (Palomino Road, Frazier River, both of Bonamy's albums, etc.).
