Per box office mojo burlesque was 3rd with 2 million on Friday. Holding up very well. It should do at least 3 M on Saturday :)

I honestly thought she would get a Best Female Pop Vocal Performance nom for You Lost Me. I think she deserved it.

Yes. It grossed over 1/3 of it's budget before international and dvd releases but some people already consider it a "disappointment". same thing happened with Crossroads, the budget was $12 million but made $37 million at the box office in the USA, additionally $23 million internationally and for a grand total of over $100 with DVD sales...

I think it made over a million the first weekend. Probably about half of that this weekend... Somewhere around 30 million total is a fair assumption I'd say. :)

^^ Most likely, as the population of Canada is 1/10th that of the US.

Canada is already included in these numbers.. I thought this was common knowledge. Hence why it's referred to as the North American Box Office.

On Yahoo these numbers are being called the US numbers. I would be pretty offended if I was Canada and being called the United States lol. Seems like they would be more accurate in naming it if it was North America and not just the US?

Numbers are inclusive for North American box office.
I have seen the Canadian numbers separated - they are published in the Toronto Star every weekend.

I thought Canada was almost always included in the box office results. They do say "North American box office," but don't include Mexico in that. I thought "domestic" was USA and Canada results. I've never seen the results separated on any movies.

I've never seen the results separated on any movies. Canada and US are always reported together. But of course, they can be separated - as some Canadian publications do. But all figures you see on box office sites, press releases, etc. include both.

If you guys are interested in seeing Canadian numbers separated, you should go here: www.tribute.ca/movies/boxoffice/Note that Canadian figures are rolled into the US ones and reported as "North American box office" (or "Domestic box office", which is more accurate because Mexico is not included).

Damn I feel bad for Canada-I have never seen places refer to Canada as the US before. It is its own country LOL.

I'm going to start a new thread for the remainder of the "Burlesque" promo + little bit of info we have for the next record.
If it's too early a mod can close it until this one reaches the appropriate amount of posts.

I believe that the decision to join The Voice was a good idea for Christina after watching the first episode. It provides people an opportunity to get reacquainted with her and present her in a better light than the press she's received over the last year or so. Unfortunately, the camera makes her look chubby. She still needs to shake that extra little weight off but that's a small quibble. I can see her making a comeback easily if this show is a success AND she releases the right material.

Sia Confirms That She Is Working With Christina On Her NEW AlbumA fan tweeted Sia asking: 'Are you working with Christina on her new album?' and Sia tweeted back with 'Yes I love her!' there is no confirmation as to how far along in the recording process she is. It's really a shame how Bionic was received. It was not by any means a bad album. And many people (who haven't even listened) seem to assume that the whole album is just a GaGa copycat, which can't be further from the truth. The first single was a bland mess, but the album has so much more to offer than "NMT" - and she has SO MUCH to offer as an artist. I hope her next step is in a much more mature direction. Revisit Back to Basics and grow from there. She could easily have Adele level success with the right material. The raw talent is there. She should be the biggest star in the world.
