The Bon Jovi numbers are very good.
SuBo fell below the Billboard estimate of 300k.

SWIFT AND BOYLE REVISIT YEAR-END CHART BATTLE Look for Boyle’s sophomore Columbia album, The Gift, to keep on giving for the holidays, after debuting this week with 240-260k, which would put her neck-and-neck for the top spot alongside the third week for Swift’s Speak Now. Which is good news for Lou Reed, whose “Perfect Day” is the first single from the Scottish singer’s release. I can't believe Lou Reed let Susan Boyle ruin his classic. Oh well, more exposure for the original hopefully. These numbers really aren't bad for Boyle. Considering she is and probably always will be seen as somewhat or a novelty act, 250k would be outstanding for her second release, and since it's a Christmas album, we could see an increase somewhere along the line, or if nothing else, decent sales in future holiday seasons. I hope Taylor is able to hold on to #1 for another week, though ultimately it doesn't really matter. Also, Boyle's opening numbers are making it look like a possibility that Rihanna could score her first #1 album next week.Great numbers for Kudi. Wasn't expecting that at all. Sad numbers for Cee Lo. I bought his album today and it's really good, was thinking he'd be able to sell more. Oh well. Don't forget Josh Groban, Rascal Flatts,Keith Urban. I don't think 'Loud" will sell that much. Maybe not even 200k. People prefer buying her singles over Itunes tho.

The "estimate" of 300K was only based on what the label was shipping, and that was from the label itself, I think. Can't really make projections until an album actually hits the streets. Wonder if SuBo's album will exceed the initial projections, like the last album did. No matter, though, as the album probably will sell pretty well through year's end- she's doing more U.S. promo than she did for the first release, which won't hurt.
Reba's numbers are kinda disappointing. But, her only real big opening in recent memory came with that duets album.
No mention of the Viva Elvis project.

With Kid Cudi`s numbers, now I`m more confident that Kanye`s album will open big with little airplay.

cudi seems to have been embraced by the "indie" audience; who tend to support their artists no matter what, and coupled with a strong hip-hop fanbase he was able to keep his sales steady with little to no radio play. I agree that the same wil go for Kanye; I can see a 400K or above sales numbers.

Em should still be in the Top 10 at #7 or #8.

WOW @ Kudi's sales. I wonder is they were fueled by his recent arrests?

Scott Mescudi is getting it IN. Hopefully he posts above 200k but really, even 180k would be amazing. His last album didn't get enough shine as it deserved.

Bruno isn't a rapper or rock n' roller. Okay. Maybe you should've placed that 'qualification' in your original post.

i had a feeling that Kid Cudi was gonna do well after seeing his pre-orders on iTunes shoot to the top 5 albums when it was pre-released a few weeks ago, especially since his pre-order price was $15.99! Congrats to him! I was expecting much more from SuBo and even if sales start to pick up for her as we enter the heart of the xmas season, I don't see her threatening Taylor or Eminem. Taylor may very well keep her at a number 2 debut next week.
As for Rihanna, if ever she had a chance at number one in this season, it would be next week. I don't see SuBo bringing in higher sales than Rihanna, but Taylor Swift may be the spoiler. Even if Rihanna comes in with a generous 225k first week, i think Taylor's sales will be stronger. I pray Ri can pull it off, though it may be more optimistic than realistic. Plus Josh Groban & Rascall Flatts are gonna be very tough competition too.

Awesome for Taylor, hopefully she can snatch Susan's wig :) ! It would be fair since she snatched Alicia's and Mary's wig last year.

Honestly, I thought Taylor's numbers were going to be 1.0 first week 600k second week 300-400k third week completely knocking Riri's chances... If she is selling 240-260 this week she could possibly sell 200-220k next week...if Riri doesn't sell more than 200k for her album then she doesn't deserve #1...weren't the sales for What's my name used for pre-order ???...if so, that might be a good indication too.

Fantastic #'s for Susan. Josh Groban's Christmas album started off low & we all know how well that sold over the holiday's. The same will happen with Susan. lol exactly, plus with performances she will being doing for promotion as well... will just be a catalyst for her to maintain a high amount of sales for a good month/month or two anyways. Kid Cudi's numbers are very impressive though for not having a single out (as echoed and said by many others).

"cee lo seems to join the jay sean, derulo, taio, mike posner club. not surprising."
you do realize that this is cee-lo's 5th solo album (if you count the 2 gnarls barkley albums, considering he was the one singing)? It's not even remotely fair to lump him in with that group considering a) he is NOT a new artist in any sense of the word and b) "Fuck You" was nowhere near as big as "Down," "Cooler than Me," "Break Your Heart," etc. 35k is what the last Gnarls album sold 1st week, so his numbers are actually ok.

Impressed with Kid Cudi's numbers. I didn't see that coming as he has no hit or song on the radio and has had a rash of bad press with his antics.
Sort of underwhelmed with Taylor's 2nd week and Subo's first week. I e xpected over 300k for both.
Regarding Rihanna, she has to contend with Rascal Flatts. I don't thin Groban or Urban will be contenders although they should sell well. Subo won't be a contender for next week.
Taylor's boost from the CMA will affect this week's numbers and not sure about her promo for next week. Next week will be interesting and should shed light on whether Rihanna truly is a singles artist.

SuBo is following Clay Aiken's trajectory. can't wait for the day she fades into oblivion like Aiken did.

^Why, because she sells as well as she does? No one's forcing anyone to listen to her or any other act, for that matter.
I was no Clay Aiken fan, but I don't recall ever wishing him away. I figured his time of success was limited, and it was. SuBo's success may have a limit, as well- but wishing it away won't help. :)

For months and months I'm reading that Boyle's gonna have an explosive debut and these are the numbers she brings?! for now, Taylor won by a knock out! The talks of pre orders and everything... such a letdown... great for Cudi though.

I hope SuGod snatches Taytan's wig... and with those numbers, none will be competition for Rihsus next week. What else has potential to block her from the top spot?

I never understood hating artists or wanting certain artists to disappear that aren't really present. Like, I can understand wishing for certain artists to go away if they are on the radio 24/7 and all over every type of media and television for months straight, but with Boyle, Pulse is the only reason I know she even exists. I cannot truly foster hateful rage for an artist unless I feel like I cannot escape them anywhere I go. One thread at Pulse doesn't bug me. Is she everywhere where you guys live or something?
