KANYE AND NICKI BATTLE: Kanye West’s critically acclaimed Roc-A-Fella/IDJ album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and touted newcomer Nicki Minaj’s long-awaited Cash Money/Universal Motown debut, Pink Friday, both hit the street today and should duke it out for #1 on the HITS chart a week from tomorrow, with totals that could have a “4” in front of it. Stay tuned as these two R&B giants go for the roses. (11/22p)www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgiGO NICKI LEWINSKY!!!!!

Two albums possible hitting 400K is just good plus Susan Boyle's album will likely hold up well so it could possibly still sell 300K

It'd be crazy if Nicki tops Drake's opening. :o Well, not really since she has the benefit of an extra day & Black Friday, but still. That'd be crazy if she tops both Drake & Kanye.
It's crazy how Yeezy's most critically acclaimed album will bring in his lowest opening (if less than 441k) and probably total sales too.

I was at Target today in Lancaster, NY, near Buffalo.
Kanye had more copies on the shelf than Nicki.
Advantage Nicki?

WOW.. this is a little early. I know albums went on sale today, but usually its the day after.
Anyways, that is fantastic number for Nicki!

Both of their albums out the same week definitely help each other with sales. Hopefully Kanye comes out on top, though.

Not surprised about Nicki, people have been WAITING for this album for more than a yearr. Plus since she's featured on seemingly every song on urban radio people are curious to see what her own music is like lol.

I am really surprised with Nicki Minaj. I thought she would do Rihanna/Katy Perry numbers, with a little bump due to Black Friday/buzz...so maybe like 200-250k, but I never expected over 400k! :O
On the other hand, I figured Kanye would easily be over 500k! :O His album has so much buzz...but it is still very early, so let's see =)

Damn! If this holds awesome for Nicki! I knew she had alot of hype and she's featured on many songs but I too thought she would open up around Katy/Rihanna numbers, or as high as 250k. Again she still could as this is just a very early estimate but I hope not! Go Nicki :)
And that's good for Kanye. No hit single this time, plus the Taylor incident didn't help his public image any, I think 400k is good. Not amazing, and I fear without a hit single it won't hold up too well, but it's a great album and should sell well :)
Taylor Vs. Kanye at Next years Grammys? hmmm

Wow @ Nicki! A bit disappointing Kanye won't be hitting 500k, though. This should have been a cakewalk for him.

If Itunes is any indication Kanye is a shoe in for #1 and probably with more than 500k. He's extremely dominant on Itunes right now. HDD is just original predictions before any product was sold.

I think Kanye will be a hard sell after the Holiday Season is over unless he gets a radio hit and fast.

I'm pretty sure the Kanye prediction will increase as well. The Internet is currently exploding with positivity about the record and that alone will send people to iTunes, Amazon, or their local music outlet to pick it up. Its very rare these days that a mainstream artist as big as him gets flawless reviews this many albums deep into a career, so the news will resonate and people will buy it.

Wow at Nicki! Didn't expect her to hit 400k. I expected Katy/Rihanna numbers, I didn't know the buzz was that huge.
I think Kanye's prediction will increase to 500k.

It'll prob be Ye-500k Nicki-400k September 30,2010 Kanye West's new album (Nov. 23) is expected to ship about 750,000 units, with first-week sales of about 400,000. >>>This seems about right. Nicki Minaj's much-anticipated debut, "Pink Friday" (Nov. 23), should ship 300,000 units, with first-week sales of 125,000. >>>Perhaps I am delusional...I am the only one that think that her releasing her record that week will hype her sales up even more. 125k...I think she can pull 250-400k based on promoI knew it was more than a feeling. ;)

You do know digital sales are not as much as physical? Not shocked Kanye is only doing that much. 808's only did in the 400K's opening week. That was just as much an album as MBDTF is.

Even I got Nicki's CD and I rarely buy rap music.
I also got Lil'Wayne today too. And of course, Robyn.

Nicki with 400k in sales? No surprise there... Isn't this the time of year people want to hear music that sounds like chipmunks?
