Bon Jovi also performed on the AMAs, so that probably helped some. Plus, the album release happened closer to Thanksgiving week some other recent hits albums, so that doesn't hurt, either.

Ne-Yo's onto the third single from the album already, isn't he? Ke$ha sees bigger digital sales then he, so that could be a factor in lesser album sales. There hasn't been a projection for the standalone EP?

A mess that Neyo debuted higher than Kesha without a hit single NeYo's been around a while and has a solid fanbase, so its not that surprising to me. We've seen lots of people have a big pop hit that doesn't translate to a slam bang album/EP opening lately.

WRWWR isn't enough to sell an album tbh. It debuted at #1 on the Hot 100 because of strong sales the first week but it's still not that big yet considering AI and exposure.
If she had a #1 hit with 80M+ AI in addition to legit promotion and a video for the single then I could maybe understand 60-70k being underwhelming.

It took me forever to find the Cannibal EP in any store. I had to go to two different Wal-Marts, and when I finally found it there were only two copies. Perhaps not many units were shipped.

The 60K-70K projection is for the Animal/Cannibal deluxe edition- so that may have bee the priority.

How is anybody able to make solid predictions with only 36% of sales? Let's wait until 60% of the sales are in. ??? Even then it varies. I remember once the sales from "Wal-Mart" didn't come in till last minute (I believe it was the week the Wal-Mart exclusive Eagles release beat Britney's "Blackout" to #1) and it changed a lot. It really all depends on when the big retailers show up in the HDD report. Sometimes they're at the beginning, (which is typically when we go from 50%-FINAL and have it not be that big of a change) and sometimes they don't come in till last. So, yeah, I prefer waiting till the very end. Either way, the final numbers should be in shortly. I believe its usually around 2pm PST.

Next update will probably be 100% - HDD have had a nasty habit the past several months of doing an initial update on Monday and then the final list on Tuesday. No more 5 minute updates. Bah.

Ms. Swift's album defying the projections- nice.
Digital sales looked to have helped Christina Aguilera's album eke out a top 20 placement.
Josh Groban's album had the biggest percentage gain for a holiday title.
Just missed out on the top 12 titles doing 100K+.

I thought it was pretty crappy for Mimi's Xmas album for Thanksgiving week (only a 22% increase), until I see that it's one of three xmas albums to increase, and the highest increase). Boyle's fall is a bit surprising.

Great week for Taylor and Katy following the AMAs. Kayne and Nicki came in less than predecited. They must have had really strong day 1s and then they fell off. Rihanna fell more than predicted, but the number is still quite good for her. Burlesque did well for what it was.

Groban's had the highest percentage gain among holiday titles in the top 50, followed by Mimi and then Bocelli. Holiday albums overall should increase over the next couple of weeks.
So, the projection for Ke$ha was for the EP.
Jay-Z's hits album numbers are kinda lowly.
SuBo's strong second-week hold caught up with her this week, apparently- nonetheless, if the SS number is close to HITS, 900k in 3 weeks ain't too shabby.

Rihanna fell more than predicted, but the number is still quite good for her. Burlesque did well for what it was. How did Kanye do less than predicted? He was originally only supposed to do 400k and he did 518k. On the weekend they said he do somewhere between 500k and 575k and he did.

JFunk, last year, Andrea Bocelli gained 18% to 218K (in his 4th week)- he then increased big in the following week (to 428K). Scanning over last year's BB 200, it looks like most holiday titles gained during Thanksgiving week.
